Oh wow the one with the Naturally Aspirated 5.7 liter V8. That’s a lifetime vehicle. Congratulations 🎈🎉🎊
Would be rare for a car youtuber to keep a vehicle for 1-2 years, let alone a lifetime (but here's hoping for the best, lol)
Every LC 200 has a 5.7 since 2008
@@Slythey I know right. That would be the ultimate test if he kept it like Doug did his Range Rover for many years and kept giving us updates on it. Then a Decade later review.
I’m saying it is something I would keep in my stable for my lifetime. Still buy other cars. But as the Ultimate S.U.V it’s the best one to keep.
@@karlhungus777 that is why they are such wonderful long lasting engines. Tried and true. Any of these Land Cruisers are capable of mega mileages and many decades of service.
@@jasonknight5863 agreed! I may swap out pickup trucks or sportscars but my GX stays for life.
Great find! It looks pristine. Install a set of A/T TMSP tires and leave it original. I personally wouldn't touch a bolt on such a nice and rare LC. Go buy a 2024 Land Cruiser and modify that one. A lot of us want to see what can be done with the new one. Good luck.
Keep it close to stock. For a daily driving I would probably only change the tires. A small lift would be fine.
Just do a plus one on the tires and leave suspension alone.
@@PRO4XKEV This is 100% the move.
Nice!! That is a lifetime (heirloom) vehicle. Don’t f*ck it up with mods!! Loose the rack and get better tires, then drive it for a while. Don’t let ICON anywhere near your Land Crusier - bad move!! The Aussies know Land Cruisers the best, Dobinsons for example✅
Why get rid of rack?
You will love that Land Cruiser much better and super reliable!
You definitely made the right decision. I also don’t care about the latest tech or luxury features. I would just put new tires on it and leave it stock. It’s extremely well built and engineered.
I have a 2021 Landcruiser. Possibly the last 3 to be sold in the US. Highly recommend on getting one stone armrest. They ship from australia. Doing long trips you will soon realize your left arm doesnt have a spot to rest. Make a big big difference comfort wise. Also get a apple car play/android auto monitor. Dont try messing with the factory media system and pulling it apart will leave you with squeaks and rattles in the long run. Its not an easy interior to work on. Enjoy the ownership experience and good luck!
Toyota should bring the new Land Cruiser back to the US, not the J250, I mean the 300 series. They are more of a luxury SUV rather than an off road vehicle now.
It wasn’t selling
Sequoia exists, basically the same thing
not quite, but it is a Toyota😂
Besides tires, I wouldn't do anything to it. It's the most capable and reliable the way it sits. Great buy! Welcome to the club. They are like tattoos, once you get one you'll want more!
Great choice! Keep it stock other than tires. Other than that, enjoy it, and keep it for a LONG time!
Keep as close as stock. Land Cruisers are the best.
You made the right call. I have the 2021 Toyota Land cruiser now 3 years old and I love that machine. I daily drive the FJ for the last 14 years, it have 275,000 miles and it still drives like new. No condemnation in my heart for Toyota.
Good selection, congrats!
Great choice. A huge congratulations.
I still have my grandfather's 83 stock Land Cruiser, and drove a lot of the 60 to 200 series over seas. Most were stock. The lifted ones drove crap. The ones with Old Man Emu drove alightly better. Stock LCs drive the best. Only minor problem with the vehicles I drove over aeas were bad gas causing filter problems. Don't look at bugger tires the fuel economy will take a hit. Nice ride 👍 Ben.
We love our LC. Went through a winter blizzard with some snow tires and it handled it without any issues. We recently got a beat sonic apple car play installed in it. It’s a wireless apple car play, keeps the oem look of the navigation system.
Good choice mate, land rover can take you to the top of the mountain but only land cruiser can take you back safely 😂😂😂
Congratulations!!!!!!
Basket on roof will drop the MPG.. if you do not use it, remove it, maybe sell it. Do a plus one on tire size and leave suspension alone.
Wise choice. Congratulations!!
Congratulations on your Land Cruiser purchase!!!!
Ben, GREAT choice! The V8 is a superb engine for the LC. Frankly I am counter to most comments and would modify like crazy into a performance Overland vehicle with that V8 and add liquid suspension.
You bought the best vehicle on the planet...
Congratulations!!!
I’ve been looking at these too! I pretty much agree with your logic across the board. I’d really love for you to do a deep dive review on this vehicle. I know there are tons out there but you’re pretty fair in your logic when you present everything and I’d like to see your thoughts. Pros / cons etc. Thanks!
GREAT CALL on the LAND CRUISER! you will not bring in unwanted attention!!!!! like you can with the Gwagon.... :) plus the land cruiser will bring in the attention of people who love cars.
Definitely the right choice Ben! Love the look of it, the old body on frame true to form SUV, and it's Toyota so if you decide to keep it for a long time, it should last you and your family. Congratulations!
Did the OME BP51 suspension, 3” lift, Slee bumper, Comeup winch and 285/65/18 BFG K02’s. Absolutely love it!! Good luck with your build!!
Awesome! Good call!!!!
Neat find, congrats
Long time 100 series owner, going 200 as well. As others have said: drive it first for a year and see what you think along the way. Stock, it will surprise you. After a year, go to someone you trust (like Slee off road) and have a solid discussion.
We bought a 16 LC a year ago for my wife and now I’m looking for a second one for me. Pretty awesome rigs. Inspire tons of confidence.
Check out the sleeve rear bumper. It’s the nicest one for a 200 series. Also 24 gallon Long Range Fuel Tank underneath. Gives you 50 gallons. Total of range. Two great mods. Good luck with the car. You bought the greatest vehicle ever built.
Slee is the best!
Dobinsons, KO2 tires, take off the rack and you have a perfect Land Cruiser.
Ben you do good work keep it ip
Ben- great choice to replace the Land Rover POS- do a shock swap w/ adjustable fronts so you can get a slight lift & add the larger tires, make sure larger sidewall too, smaller rim- even cushier ride, king/bilstein/fox/viking etc
congratulations on your land cruiser. She looks beautiful, i personally think a mild lift and all terrain tires would look good on it without sending over the top. as much as i like your land cruiser, it really makes me love my 2016 4runner trail with kdss even more. there's something about owning a 4runner, land cruiser that's built in Japan and still has an old-school feel to them that makes them special. Have fun with her and treat her right, and she'll last you a lifetime.
I hope you love it, it will last for ever. I test drove a new one in 20 and ended up getting a Range Rover sport with the 525 bhp engine. Drove better and went faster. I had no issues but also only kept it for 2 yrs then to a X5 M60i. Im looking forward to the GX 550 in year or so. Enjoy and kept it for ever
Great truck. Congratulations.
Congrats 🎉🎊 beautiful suv very reliable noting better than a pice of mind you can relax knowing it’s always going to turn on
That’s a keeper
Finally one of my favourite CZcams guy has bought my favourite vehicle ☺️. Congratulations 🎉🎉
That’s the right choice, beautiful. Congrats!
Congratulations !
GREAT purchase!
Good choice! I would do an overland kind of direction, but not go overboard with it. Roof rack, lights, accessories, etc. Maybe a mild lift kit?
Congrats! Dream vehicle of mine right there.
The Best Buy you made
Funny how the biggest car reviewers, all end up getting a Land Cruiser as their personal car... Doug Demuro, you, me (lol) ok.. I'm a Land Cruiser exclusive only channel...
I am about to do a 200 series build with ARB, Slee, ICON Stage 6, Rock Warriors in Yankess Gold and likely 35s which is the max you'd want to do on a 200... You should look into the Rugged Bound drawers, that are made for the 200... Best build from South Africa... Installing that in the 200 as well...
If you go heavy in the back and have Icons? Be mindful that ICON has one set of springs only, so 86 those and go with Dobinson 660lb springs in the back (but keep the rest ICON of course...)
I can relate to the tech things coming in new cars…. Some are useful but others very confusing…. Plus we don’t know the repair cost in long term…
I suggest keep Land Cruiser to stock and only change tires as you got Bronco to off-road
Same thing here I just bought an old school 24’ 4Runner my new tech 22’ Tundra opened my eyes. Good move Ben.
Congratulations, nice Land Cruiser.
Well, any videos on this one won’t be about it breaking down and being in the shop. Great choice!.
I have a 2021 LC Heritage. Lifted , white knuckle rock sliders, rhino 1/2 rack, amber ditch lights, bull bar with lights, roof mounted led light bar, BF K02, and bumper bar in back. No issues, just a gas guzzler. Funny you mentioned the G wagon. I happily go rid of a G63, too many problems with it. I had alot more compliments with my LC than the G wagon.
This one you pass on to your kids, very very lifetime vehicle. Big ups!!!
Congratulations very smart choice 🎉
Great choice. Any special editions with OEM bronze wheels seem to become instant classics.
Heartiest congratulations. It is an amazing vehicle. If I were the owner, I would keep it stock as it is plenty capable. I might change the tires though to something chunkier (not necessarily bigger). That's my thought. Enjoy miles and miles of this vehicle. Cheers!
Nice ride 👍
Woozers...some real first world problems here. I cancelled my G Wagen order, traded in a LR Defender, and got a Land Cruiser.
Upgrades to consider for the J200: 1. Old Man Emu BP51 suspension- even if you dont do a ton of offroad, this will change the driving dynamics completely. 2. Slee rock sliders with lights , enjoy best vehicle on the planet
Congrats. Lc200s and gx460s and 4runners use hydraulic steering which is why they don't have lane keeping assist. On the 200 series, lx570, 2nd gen tundra and 2nd gen equioa actually have a power steering cooler for trucks with winch mounts and brush guards to not overheat the fluid in desert environments.
So happy for you! I've had two 200s but not as nice as this one!!!
Yeah this is my style nice choice
Great choice, Ben! At 12K after four years, that car is just now broken in, and you have a long, long stretch of worry free driving ahead of you. Terrific family car, more than enough room, super safe, etc. I have a 2006 Toyota Sequoia with 235,000 miles--transmission shifts seamlessly, the V8 engine is smooth as silk, and I rarely hear a squeak, anywhere. These cars are already so capable already, so like others have commented, other than better all terrain tires and some good skid plates, if it were me, I'd leave the rest alone and enjoy rock solid reliability. Although the G-Wagon would have been interesting in terms of just seeing it, for long range ownership purposes, I'd take the Land Cruiser 100% of the time.
Great choice! You’re gonna love it! And it loves the gas station🤭Enjoy!!
Excellent choice
I currently have a GX460. At this point, the 20-21 LC is the only vehicle I would consider trading for.
Swap the tires for BFGoodrich KO2, keep the rest the same and drive it. Upgrade further after more time with your truck.
The half one million happy miles 😅
Have the same LC200, go ahead and get one of the aftermarket Apple CarPlay modules to bring some modern ability to the infotainment. Best first mod. Suspension wise mine is still stock bc I’m so hesitant to pull the trigger… I’m also looking at the Icon suspension and getting an ARB front bumper and winch… would be interesting to follow your build.
Congratulations.
Keep the heritage wheels, 33" are perfect for on road and off
Just get new tires but standard load rating so you dont ruin the ride.
Good choice🎉🎉
I think the g wagon is the type of car for people like me. We admire them from a distance
33" will fit stock - go with a mild AT with an E rating - and enjoy the stock suspension.
such a good looking truck
Your Toyota lands cruiser heritage it's looks good for a older suv
My 2008 LC200 hit 200k miles last week. It's still purring along just fine. I have 33" KO2s on it without a lift. I may be in the market for a 2020 or 2021 200 once prices normalize. I only wish they made some red heritage units. I like a little color.
Great buy! I’d put better tires and upgrade the shocks. Putting a lift kit on it would take away from the uniqueness of the Land Cruiser, especially being the “Heritage” edition.
Nice find! A huge step up from the one you just got rid of
Glad you did. Enjoy it for a lifetime.
this was the right decision, just upgrade to 33 or 34 and small lift that it , maybe this should e future video take it to a shop and see if you like 33 or go to bigger
for my as someone who is driving a 14y car , i am considering the gx550 as i don't need the extra space and the tech level is just right which allow me to keep it for the long term
i hope they have enough in production, if not i will go for ranger raptor
Good choice Ben stealth wealth is the way to go.
I had one of these. The only thing I did was add one tire size up on the stock bronze wheels. I put on BFG AT KO2s in 285/65R18 which is slightly bigger than stock-white letters out. It looked great and literally could go anywhere offroad I drove. I also put on fancy brakes and expensive shocks, can't remember the brand, no lift. Pro's: it could go anywhere, it looked great, and turned heads. I always got compliments. Con's: the AWD all the time was bad on gas (small fuel tank also), it became uncomfortable on long road trips-the seats are not that plush (hard toyota seats), and the heavy steering, some interior bits were cheap plastic, poor quality backup camera, sun glare on the main infotainment screen. Maintenance and parts are expensive. However, I miss it. Maybe another one in the future.
Wow congratulations to you for buying the Land Cruiser Heritage with rows and a cd player , it will last for over 20+ years and run quite well over 400,000 miles plus following the service manual scheduled services Sorry about the Defender
thats my dream car, bravo, congrats!
Solid purchase
Wow, I like it, but my favorite suv is the land rover sport👍👍👍
If you value reliability just put larger tires on it, but do not mess with the suspension. Toyota front suspensions are much less hardy when lifted. Don't invite trouble.
Great vehicle
I'm excited 🎉
You'll also love that at 250,000 miles is still runs like new. Best vehicles I've ever owned are Toyota. 3 tundras.
You will never regret this purchase. One of the best vehicles of all time.
I have 21 HE in blizard pearl w/third row option with 10k on it. It’s showroom status. Never driven in the rain. Garaged kept.
9:31 I’m with you. I just bought a low mileage 2017 nissan frontier pro-4x due to liking the old school feel. Newer vehicles are getting less engaging with each passing year.
Ben. It's really nice
Own one myself except a 21. You will NEVER REGRET THIS PURCHASE!!!
Congratulations ! You made a great choice ! And it’s nice to see a you tube reviewer make a new purchase with something other than a TRX, F 150 Raptor, or a Bronco raptor . I honestly believe in time you will like the land cruiser better than the bronco raptor. If I were you I would keep the GT 350 and trade in the bronco raptor for your wife’s new vehicle. You don’t need 3-4 off road vehicles and with a land cruiser you don’t need an over priced unreliable bronco raptor. Take it from someone who owned 4 F 150 raptors and had a bronco raptor built and delivered and I turned it down because of my LX 600 and I have zero regrets. Raptors are over hyped and for “ EGO People” .
What did you pay for it? Trade gave you what? Difference?
Ben good day how much did you pay? Thanks very nice Land Cruiser
