It's easy to romanticize the past when we aren't living in it. Suburbia has its problems, but going back to horse-drawn carriages is not something to be desired. I guess if you really want to, you could always move to Amish Country and live the dream!

bruh i want a horse drawn carriage as my main car. but im not amish, i just like it cause its down to earth and cheaper travel and eco friendly

Not really. The first car ever was an electric car, so it’s not Tesla who invented the electric car, that’s for sure.

These are coming back fast.
Its looking like another transition is on the horizon. Over a hundred years ago it was horses to cars. Now its gas cars to electric cars. Its about time we need a change. Just think if the electric car was introduced in the 1980s how far we'd be now
Electric cars were invented at the same time as gasoline and steam engines in the mid-1800's. They didn't take off because of the state of batteries back then, and remained the biggest obstacle for electric cars until late 2000's.

I'd say the mid to late 1910s was the big transition.
GM did in 1997 with the EV1 but they killed it in 2002. It threatened the oil 🛢 and gas industry. 💰
