I've had this reel in my collection for a while and didn't realize the significance of it until a couple months after getting it. I believe this is a kinescope of the original ending to the Kaye Ballard episode, which has an often-omitted ITC logo at the end.
This is only the raw scan - Garrett Gilchrist (known to have restored episodes of The Jim Henson Hour, Little Muppet Monsters, and various other Muppet specials) has done some wonderful cleanup work with it and added it to a collection of various rare original end logos for The Muppet Show, which you can view here:

This is quite possibly one of the last kinescopes ever recorded. I think this is also the first time the 1973 ITC logo has turned up in 4k.
I'm wondering if original episodes of "This Is Tom Jones" still has the "ITC Compass" logo on them on the now out-of-print DVD set. The 1973 "James Paul McCartney" TV special had the "ITC Spinning Diamonds" logo and is quite rare. Disney now owns The Muppets, so sadly, all references to ITC are removed by a "Henson Productions" logo created around 1990.
the latest kinescope i've seen was from the middle of the fourth season. there's a good chance that stuff from the season after also exists.
When this was on, next thing we'd hear is "Ok kids, time for bed."
Wow now that's how I remember the Muppet show. I wish they would release the show it was originally shown on tv. Loved it. Thank you.
Great to see this clip. Fantastic transfer. I'm still kicking myself, because I once had the chance to get the George Burns episode on 16. Being a film collector, I get a kick of watching the soundtrack. This is a lot of fun. I always feel cheated without seeing the ITC head and tail logo when I watch an episode.
It seems like Kaye was one of the very few celebrities that wanted to strangle Miss Piggy.
This was also the the episode when The Electric Mayhem quit the band in protest over the theme song for being "too bland". Kermit hated their suggestion for a theme song.
This is an awesome find! I hope you or another Muppet fan will be able to find footage from the 1 hour version of the Juliet Prowse episode.
There is no 1 hour version :)
I basically made a mistake about the runtime, but here’s a link that contains information about that particular pilot episode: muppetcentral.com/guides/episodes/tms/pilots/3_prowse.shtml
0:13, she heard that!
I’ve only seen muppet show season 03 episode 15 on another website before I’ve watched Ernie and Bert on CZcams and before I’ve got the muppet show on dvd season one special edition on my 13th birthday
0:33 the ending song was a little low
and now it’s time for another segment of overthinking things: how did kermit get the other band members back in the Mummenchanz episode? i’m sure scooter or his uncle either guilt tripped him or “persuaded” him somehow
Love this. Bu any chance, do you have thr PBS special "Hip Hip Parade" with Kermit and Fozzie?
Hey. I’m after the piano music from a merry muppet Christmas where Johnny Fiama is singing jingle bells. If you ever find the the instrumental and upload it , think you could let me know?
Is this the one where the band went on strike? Only Rowlf is playing the closing!
Cool
Is there any raw takes of The Muppets Take Manhattan?
Love your stuff! Do you happen to have the end credits score from the Muppet Movie, clean without the dialogue?
I've been looking! Here's to hoping I'll find it soon...
@@abagelmuppetstuff that’s awesome to know at least someone else besides me has been searching for it!
Good news! More to come...
@@abagelmuppetstuff O . O
this looks like it could be a kinescope. Videotape playing the materia, camera facing the monitor.
Indeed it is!
1:31 SMPTE Foot?
1912????
Original Piggy always looks weird to me.
That was how they first designed and built her.
Her eyes got bigger by 1978. Frank Oz was still handling her loud voice.
I want some more muppet videos including the muppets sesame street fraggle rock bear in the big blue house for me please thanks From Callum Quinn PS I'm biggest fan of the muppets sesame street fraggle rock bear in the big blue house and so many more
