Even though I love this version of this song. I think there is potential for another singer to take this much further. No disrespect to Leo Sayer who is, and was at the time of this recording, a wonderful artist.

There is a rumour that this song was written by Freddie Mercury for Leo, and in return Leo wrote Play The Game for Queen. Both parties have denied it but not very convincingly, and I can imaging Freddie and Leo (who were friends at the time) entering into such an agreement on the proviso that it was kept secret. Certainly the two songs sound like they were written by each other - Play The Game especially has Leo's sound all over it.
I was unaware of this story, true or false it was. Anyway, the first time I heard this Leo Sayer music on the radio I thought it was Freddie Mercury singing it. If listen with eyes closed, in this part 0:36 and here 0:43 is very seems Freddie's voice. Indeed it is a text and music that would have adapted very well to his voice and way of singing.
