As a ravenclaw I'm always disappointed with the merch options we have. Not only have they changed the mascot they changed the bronze stripe to silver.

Yeah like it’s called Ravenclaw because the founders got to name their houses so they named it after themselves. Not saying ravens are dumb but JK Rowling says it’s supposed to be a bronze eagle and the colors are blue and bronze. You’d think they’d realize us Ravenclaws are smart enough to catch it and JK Rowling or whoever approves merchandise on her behalf should be ashamed. Almost every time I’m disappointed. If i have to settle for the raven and silver I will because it would mean more merch but I’d rather not have to accept it in the first place. Gryffindor and to a lesser extent Slytherin get all the cool stuff and more accuracy of the stuff too.
Feeling sorry for saying that but Ravenclaw is a bit underrated this is why🙄😞

Kyle Cowden it’s actually true, I’m griffindor and happy with my mercy options, but it’s really sad that the other house (hufflepuff and ravenclaw) dont have the best options.

Madam Malkin's seems to have a more equal representation of the houses compared to some of the other stores.
My mom made me a Hufflepuff robe for Halloween, and that is wear I got my Hufflepuff badge!

Most of the stuff is great quality. But I do believe being Harry Potter plays a big role. :)
it is way over priced. i usually save up the whole year and then go in and buy what i need to furnish my house. it all HP themed.

@@act1veee There’s stuff that’s a lot more than $40, especially if you’re furnishing a whole place. Plus the cost of admission alone and then of course if you need to stay at a hotel and pay for parking and eating, that all adds up super duper quickly. Most importantly, though, this stuff is lovely to have but it’s non-essential and most of the money people make goes towards essential things like food and housing, paying bills and insurance and gas, etc. If you make $13 an hour that one $39 tie is three hours of work BEFORE taxes are taken out.
And idk how you came to the conclusion that that would be how much you’d make to earn $40 in a year, but if you work 365 days a year and never take any time off, 8 hours a day, no taxes factored in, then your math would be closer to the correct estimate, but very few people work 60 hour work weeks and take no time off ever, so that’s an exaggeration in many ways.

Do you feel the prices are fair? Obviously there is a little inflation since it’s at Universal.
You're very welcome! I personally think most things are priced reasonably for what they are and where they are. That said, there is a lot I would not purchase due to price.

No, but what you can do is if you go to the Wizarding world in Orlando in diagon alley they have wand repair shops where you can trade broken wands for new ones!

spirit halloween has them for $8 better hurry if you needed a pair. my dog chewed up one of mine so i had to rush to spirit today to buy a new pair. in my opinion they look nicer than the ones they sell at uni and are a lot cheaper. they match my quiddich jacket perfectly. everything there is way over priced. but HP stuff usually is especially if its licensed.
yeah, $125 for a robe? Spirit Halloween would be around $30, I think. It might be less comfortable, but it's almost a whole 100 dollar difference aha.

Went to Universal Orlando this past weekend; prices have definitely gone up on some of the items like the house robes and it's only been under 2 years since this video was posted. Wonder how much they'll cost in a couple of years. Madam Malkin's, like the all the other stores, was so much fun to explore though.

They may look like that, but I have one and it is SOLID. It is great quality and it makes me feel like an actual potter character.

Fyi- take 1 kid at a time. We went in March 2021 spring break. Its insane even with mask mandates. Insane ! But over all fun if you into H.P.. And i nevet saw this shop. Hhhmmmm

Maybe you can give some insight on this. What do you think is a good amount to bring for souvenirs? I’m planning on going for 5 days next gear. I was thinking $1000 for everything (food and souvenirs) but I don’t think that’s realistic. This is probably my only time I’ll ever go, or it’ll be awhile before I go again. I’m not really all that into buying wands or robes, so that will probably help. What price range would you think is good for a Harry Potter lover’s once in a lifetime trip?
If you have $1000 to budget for food and souvenirs, more power to you! That seems a bit excessive, but there are some nice collectible pieces that you are able as well. I'd bring as much as you can and see if you have any left! $1000 seems like a lot, but could certainly go quickly.

FYI: AMEX used to give you a discount at Uni Orlando for merch purchases over $75. I got the discount when I bought my robes a few years ago.
