True Facts but at first he was a troubled kid that didn’t know anything about love, or loving. Near the end, we see him as this troubled kid who’s learned what it means to love, and have people that love him like clay and his family. It’s too bad he still felt as though he was worthless, which we all know was never the case.

they killed off the person who deserved a happy ending THE MOST. the only person who wasn’t privileged was killed off. i’m still mad. this is bs. (edit: i’m not actually MAD the death was necessary to show reality but i’m still sad about it)
If someone you loved tested positive for HIV and AIDs after working so hard to better themselves, and it caught up to them when it was too late to treat, I'm pretty sure you'd understand.
That is why it made sense to let him pass away in the story. It's meant to make you hurt, it's meant to make you angry.
If your loved one passed away from it, you'd be screaming to the sky "he/she deserved a better ending than this!", sadly, HIV and AIDS don't give a shit once they catch you.
The only difference here is you're not screaming to the ceiling wishing they were still alive, you're screaming at the director for killing them off.

I am talking about how Justin was a victim in the show. he didn’t have parents to come home to like the rest of them. then when he got his family he was ripped from them. he got a slow painful death. while bryce who was privileged and a rapist died from drowning.

Couldn’t agree more. I’m very emotional, so I always end up crying at the sad scenes in most movies/shows. But When Justin died, a part of me died. That sounds cliche, I’m aware, but I truly have never cried like I did when he passed. It was like your own sibling had died, it felt like I knew him on a personal level, like he had been my friend ever since kindergarten. His character development was one of the best I’ve seen by far.

Plus he’d been through so much and his mum died as well. I thought they would have at least let him live. And it was like his past caught up with him as well when he got HIV...so so sad

I honestly think justin is the best character in the show, he went from a scared kid who grew up under Bryce's wing and learned how to cover up his pain and sorrow. To being a soft gentle angel being brought into the Jensen's family and being loved by many other people

Yeah that was weird, gay played straight and vice versa. Brandon is not the „typical“ gay (like e. g. Miles Heizer - he couldn’t pull off straight). There were a lot of „heartthrobs“ like him who turned out to be gay. Like Rock Hudson. And I think is a damn good actor and he deserves an award for portraying Justin. The way he could shift energy and charisma like two different people was amazing. There was only one other actor on the show who was as versatile and convincing and that is Justin Prentice (Bryce Walker). He made me hate him really badly and the managed to make me feel sorry for him and that without losing any credibility. Dylan Minnette always had the same expression, no range at all, but that was probably just the role. His character really annoyed me by season 4. So I hope Brandon Flynn and Justin Prentice get the recognition they deserve. I am watching out for those two.

His death had nothing to do with his storyline. He should have healed. He should have lived and thrived and went on to tell Clays kids in the future all about the highschool stories of their father and their uncle.

They said his character died because it showed that he didn’t really have much self care because he didn’t think he deserved love or that anybody could genuinely love him. He thought he didn’t have a purpose and that he was useless. That’s why he didn’t get tested, why he kept relapsing, because he didn’t think he was worth it. At least that’s what the show said.

Justin Foley: perfect example of a well written character. He was never perfect, but damn he grew up a lot during the series and unexpectedly became one of the most loved characters of the story. Rest in peace Justin.

I cried during the whole last episode. There wasn't a moment when I wasn't crying. He deserved better, he had the best character development I've ever seen in Netflix. And even after 2 years there's no death in a show that have affected me so hard as Justin's
justin was the best character on the whole show. his development and overall arc is probably the best one shown on netflix and his struggles with addiction and sexual abuse were so well handled. he went from being a complete cliche to someone who was so much more than that. and he earned it all. he deserved more and knowing that is what made the role work so well

13 Reasons why is a series i will never forget. The Best series I have ever watched. It helped me through some things and made me stronger. Also the first movie/series i have ever cried to. Brilliant series.
Seeing such a great and developed character meet his end after so much he accomplished and went through, is truly heartbreaking
The way he portrayed his character Justin Foley is surprisingly excellent. So much respect for the cast!

this show put me through so much. watching justin go through what he did, especially in the last season; i cried more times than i can count. my heart still hurts, thank you so much.
I'll be forever stuck in these series. 13RW is the best, it tackles a real life stories of different individuals. I shed a bucket of tears on Justin's story, the struggles he'd faced to change.
it's absolutely insane how realistic justin's ending was, and that's what made it so much more heartbreaking.

I’m not over Justin’s death and Seeing brandon being so attached to his character makes me even sadder he deserved better
He portrayed that character more than I think anyone would have.

Justin turned his whole life around and had so much going for him. I feel like things started to fall apart when his mom passed away. His character development was second to none on the show, which is why his death is so painful and heartbreaking.
This Series, this characters have taught me so much.. I am from a country where mental health, depression doesn’t get the attention of parents much...Most parents doesn’t even know what that is!! I recommend this show to every one of my friends and watched it with my mom the second time..At the end of season 2 she hugged me and told that she love me more than anything . And i can always talk to her
Lost my uncle to him OD-ing in May last year. Around the same time season 4 was coming out and considering my Uncle was addicted to Heroin as well watching Justin backtrack last season was breaking me so much. He was definitely one of my favorite characters and when he died- I completely went off the deep end. I'm better now, thankyou Brandon you are such an amazing actor!
