Shruti Y, it doesn’t always look like it will get better, but when you are hurting is when your pain needs to not be kept quiet. It should never be ignored and people shouldn’t ignore it. That’s how you sink into the ocean of sadness. Once you have the courage to cast your pain into the light, bring attention to it, that’s where you can begin to heal.

You may genuinely be sad about your gpa, you may be making a joke but it comes across as saying you're suffering more than her. Shes happy and you're still in a bad situation. And I probably have a lower GPA than you. And I'm Indian. I deserve to be poor if people like this get a 3.5.

Heel God I agree,It really was a sad show,but it opened my eyes to things I never really considered before.I watched this show last year when my life was a mess.I was suffering secretly and I also lost a friend who succumbed to depression and killed themselves.I never knew,I didn't see the signs,sometimes it's right in front of us and we don't see it . I also thought like wow,that could've been me and no one would've known .I'm more careful with myself and others,I seek help when things are tough and I look out for others around me as well,it's hard dealing with things alone, so I tend to talk to close family members and friends. That's why I said it impacted my life positively, because it gave me the courage to seek help, I hope it can encourage others also to seek help.In a way, even though Hannah didn't get a happy ending,she let her voice be heard in the end, to inspire others to speak up about their issues,I haven't watched season 2 yet because I have exams but I'd like to see how season 2 unfolds.

I watched up until season 2, I found it too graphic especially with the bathroom scene, getting raped with a Mop handle. I believe that the shows purpose to send out messages of hope and how people go threw some awful experiences

I am a survivor of suicide. I had multiple attempts at suicide and self harm. I tried to burn, cut and hang myself. 13 rw really changed my life in a huge way. When I first started watching the show, i realised how much of a common situation i was in, just the difference i hadnt been sexually harassed. But i was cyber bullied and morphed pictures of me had circulated throughout the school. The people who i thought were my friends, completely left me in a very very dark place, in fact in such a place where i couldnt even consult anyone, just like hannah. This personal letter also reminded me how this show strengthened the person, that they became happier, just like me. Definitely suicide is a permanent decision to a problem which is temporary. I suffer from two disorders namely bipolar disorder and ocd, which cause me to show excessive emotions. I get called out for that a lot. And i am very very lonely. But yeah this series has taught me not to care about what other ppl say.

Dear Anushka, as a survivor of suicide, you have defeated the most dangerous enemy; your vulnerability. Just imagine, you have a whole life ahead of you and how strong you are. And that, is what you have made out of yourself. Do not blame yourself ever, for what other people did to you. You can not satisfy other people. No matter how close they are, no matter how understanding they are; it is your self belief which will ultimately get you through your day. Remember that your emotions or the show of it, do not make you weak. It makes you human. That is what you are, a very worthy human being. May the force of life be with you.

THIS SHOW IS NEEDED. It can help show people who are thinking about suicide or want to attempt this show can show them that you can keep going. No matter what you can keep fighting that there are people who care about you no matter what and there is always help. It also shows you how it will affect people after you leave, people you wouldn’t expect. As somebody who had a friend attempt suicide and is permanently brain damaged from it, I wish she knew how many people cared about her. And how her doing that would affect them. This show may be hard to watch, but it is needed

This show helped me in not being afraid to show or tell how I feel. I love yall and I hope yall Stick together and fight for what's going on in life cause no matter what life is beautiful.

This is so important. It wasn't only a show, it opened our minds and hearts up to what many of us felt inside. Loneliness, powerlessness, abuse. It's necessary that the actors speak to us like this, in familiarity and vulnerability. ♥ Hope they do more of this, or similar videos connecting viewers with the people who represent/create the series.

HeyitsKassan, I’m glad it helped you. The show taught me not to ignore people that were suffering. I used to just be passive and detached when going through school since I was an introvert with anxiety issues. I couldn’t bring myself to be social since I was afraid of rejection. Trouble was, I was lonely and forced to constantly keep my mind occupied on other things to avoid feeling self pity. When i consider the reasons Hannah killed herself, I remember her saying how some people cared and no one cared enough and how Clay felt guilty for doing nothing when his friend was suffering alone. That’s when it dawned on me. I didn’t have to have personally hurt someone to cause them suffering. Inaction and indecisiveness could be lethal too. I went on looking through CZcams videos about the show and saw so many comments from people who were or may have been hurting. I interacted with them and some of them do indeed respond. I ask how they are. I ask if they need help. I say anything I can to make sure they are still alive and not close to killing themselves. Moreso, I leave a message for anyone to see, saying not to ignore people that suffer and to not let your personal suffering be silent. Bringing your troubles to light is where the healing can begin. If you don’t speak out, we can’t hear it.

I suffer from anxiety and ptsd,I have a toxic house environment and I have even thought of giving up multiple times. But after watching this show,it really showed me that there are other ways pain can be dealt with and that suicide shouldn't be considered even as an option. I honestly love this show. It's taught me a lot, and I appreciate it and I'm forever thankful for this amazing show.❤
I learnt that telling people about your problem and letting few things out, sorts it.... And we r young enough to ask for help, we we need to, we don't really need to go through it alone, asking for help isn't a shame. Saved me a lot of time and energy...

Every one talks about how controversial it was, glorifiying suicide.. but for me, it really moved me to not. I cried so hard knowing Clay and Hannah would never be together because she made the choice to end her life. The scene, my favorite, the one where Clay is telling her he's never leaving and that he loves her, and she's just like "why didn't you tell me this when I was alive?" Oh my god, it sounds stupid but that part. That part makes me loose my shit. The last episode in general is a bittersweet end. Maybe nothing will never be okay. Maybe Clay will never be the same. Those memories of Hannah will always be there. But you can move on. Find something to pour your love into. At least, that's what the show taught me. I hope for a season two soon.

Wow, I can only imagine how the creators of this show feel when they hear stories like this. To think that you helped someone, inspired them and maybe even saved their life. This is why I love art whether it's movies, music, books etc. It brings a change, which makes me even more inspired to work on my own little projects. I love this show very much and I'm glad that this is the impact it has created. And if there's someone who watched this video and is going through a lot of hard things the writer of this letter went through, please know that there is always someone out there to help you and you're not alone. :)
