  • Kyoto State Guest House will start a new project to commemorate the inscription of "Japan’s
traditional wooden architectural techniques" on the list of UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage
in December 2020. In this series, students will introduce the traditional techniques used in the
Kyoto State Guest House through video clips.
The second theme is “Kyo-sashimono” (traditional Kyoto-style woodcraft furniture made without
nails). Students from Kyoto Women’s University will introduce its techniques and charms.
Kyoto State Guest House is open to the public throughout the year.
“Kyo-sashimono” featured in the video can be seen in “Fuji-no-ma”,"Kairou (open covered
    bridge)" and “Juraku-no-ma.”
