I was shooting shotguns by myself with my first cousins squirrel and rabbit hunting from around age 8.. and with zero adult supervision too.. we were running all over our dad's farms and shooting shotguns or .22s and during deer season we were shooting high-powered rifles like 30-06 etc... so as someone completely steeped in gun culture from a very young age, it's interesting to see people in anti-gun societies react to guns with fear and/or aversion, etc... :)

11:10 Most firearms sold to civilians are generally semi-automatic only. The only way you can get a fully automatic firearm in the United States is by buying one that has a history of being registered before 1986 as a "machine gun" (runs around $20,000 to $60,000 a piece) or by aquiring special licenses (Federal Firearms License and Special Occupational Taxpayers License) because of the Hughes Amendment that was passed in 1986. Otherwise you are stuck with semi-automatic firearms.

If only they compared the power of each cartridge and showed the what a wood stock mini14 or M1 Garand looks like compared to black rifles. Silhouette competitions are also very fun and I used to run 3 gun, action pistol, idpa, etc. People have no idea it is similar to auto racing, where there are many versions of the sport with many people who participate.

@@jcmar209 Well not a lot of people know that only 13% of the colonies were in rebellion against Britain. Yet they won. So if a rebellion happened it wouldn't take that much people and history proves it. Hit and run tactics. The government would not be able to tell who is the rebel and who is the not.
For the rebels would act like normal citizens when not fighting. Perfect example is this story. I watched a video of a man who served in Vietnam. He was patrolling an area when a nice Vietnamese local came up to him. They talked and the gentleman was expressing his gratitude and thanking him for fighting for them. He invited him to his house for dinner.
So he and his buddies ate at the fellas house and talked. A week later they got jumped by the Viet-cong, and lo and behold, after the fight when they were going through the dead, there was that guy who fed them dinner, dead as a door nail holding his AK47. They had not a clue that he was a rebel, and if crap happens here than that stuff will happen too. Which now you will be wondering, well the government has tanks, aircraft, and missles. Okay your right so did we during Vietnam.
Yet the Viet-cong still won. Just because you have all this technology doesn't mean crap. Hate to say it, same thing in Afghanistan too. Not only that, who is the government going to send? You think an American soldier will fire and kill a U.S. rebel?
They take an oath to protect the people and the constitution, not the government. There will be defectors from the military dude. They will join the rebellion and fight against the government. Now what if the government starts bombing and shooting missles into cities? You know the whole world is going to be watching.
You think Britain, Canada, and other countries will sit back and do nothing? They would definitely help the rebellion. People, from these countries, would see the missles and bombs dropping on the cities, and will think no wonder the rebels are trying to overthrow their government. They are killing innocent people. The government would lose if a revolution would happen.
Just look at other revolution during history. 9 times out of ten the rebels win. Hoped this help. Oh and the military ran a battle simulation of if a rebellion happened against the government. The rebels would win. I would link the video but youtube has since taken it down.

Having worked at a large gun shop (Palmetto State Armory has several thousand firearms on hand at their larger stores at any point), I can say you'd have been far from the only foreign visitors to want to get a closer look at the US scene. I always enjoyed (on slower days) taking the time to allow people from outside the US to have an experience. They couldn't buy, but they could touch...and lots of pictures got taken. Even arranged to meet a few at the gun range and let them try shooting my personal weapons. Good times.

I had a few of the guns on their list but I lost them in a boating accident unfortunately. The reality is that America has a gun culture built into it from our founding, and a vast majority of Americans that own guns are responsible. The type of people that would defend a random family in the event that someone with bad motives tried to cause harm. But I appreciate that you mentioned the tyrannical government. That is really the fundamental point of the second amendment. America was founded on fighting a tyrannical government, which is why when our constitution was written, our new government determined that the citizens should have the means to fend off tyranny in the name of freedom. If you come to the states again I hope you can get to a range it is a lot of fun.

Most of the gun deaths in America are either self inflicted or gamg violence. Gangs naturally don't follow the law and self deleting is also illegal. The same thing that happened with alcohol happened with firearms. The government has created a black market for firearms, as well as trying to make it almost impossible for regular law abiding citizens in some states to even learn how to properly use their firearms without issues. Also for the people who say you don't need automatics to defend yourself why is it that congressional security teams and law enforcement are legally allowed to have them? Why aren't they not allowed to have them legally, because criminals don't listen to laws.

This is a very old video. The old guy, Barry if I remember correctly, has passed away. They were not related, just co-workers. As for kids on the rifle, I took a family out to teach them to shoot a few weeks ago. The youngest girl, around 10, did amazingly well. Always obeyed the 4 safety rules and shot just about everything I took - she bowed out on the 308 hunting rifle. I did have to help her hold the AR because I had my suppressor on it to tame the flinch from the loud noise. As for hunting, I use my AR-15 every year for dear. In Oregon - the state I live in - I have to use a 5 round max magazine for hunting, but that goes for any rifle we hunt with. It makes for a light, compact package that is easy to carry in the brush. All of the guns shown were semi-auto. We can own fully auto, but it had to be originally put on the registry before 1986. That makes a simple $1k AR15/M16 a $20k collector.

Actually, with 5 round magazines like any other rifle, you can hunt deer in some states with an AR-15, but the rounds are so tiny that you wouldn't want to hunt anything larger. The AR-10 in .308 caliber is another story, .308 or 7.62x51 is a common hunting caliber, which as a hunter you would know or for long range shooting. The Barett is actually used for long range target shooting and it's the only one of all of those that is actually used by the military as an anti-vehicle and anti-personnel weapon, but still a semi-automatic rifle. My son was issued one in the Marines in Iraq and in the National Guard here in Oregon where he was a sniper team leader. Watch some videos of people shooting it in slow motion and you will see the waves generated from the blast rippling through them. If you shoot it enough in a short span of time, his description was like standing in front of the large speakers at a rock concert, it can actually make you ill. So, if they needed to burn up old ammo, they would get as many people from the company together and let everyone try it, clerks, cooks, anyone who wanted to. He mentioned the price of the gun. That's without the several thousand dollars for an appropriate scope system. You could easily be into the whole package $15,000 or more.

I'm currently in the South Carolina "Lowcountry." Here, the AR15 is more popular for dealing with the rather severe hog and coyote problem than the AR10. But that has to do with terrain. Thick swampy land means short range. Due to this, a popular setup is AR15 in 300 Blackout with a night optic and suppressor.

  • @ericcheatham7957
    @ericcheatham7957 Před 6 měsíci

The only firearm they showed that would not normally be used for "hunting" is the last one, the Barrett 50 cal. All the others are very suitable for hunting game animals, as long as the bullet weight and cartridge length comply with the local hunting regulations. Here in Wyoming, the bullet has to have a weight of at least 60 grains to be used for larger game such as deer or antelope. Lighter than 60 grain bullets would be used to hunt predators such as coyotes, wolves, fox, mountain lion, raccoon, among others. I use my AR-15 rifles to help keep the prairie dog and raccoon population in check on the land I grew up on. They are all very effective tools for the job they are used for. One other thing to bear in mind is that the AR in AR-15 stands for Armalite Rifle, with the number following designating the model number. I have an AR-9, which is a carbine rifle chambered in 9X19 , commonly used in 9mm pistols. I also have an AR-10, chambered in .243 Winchester, which is my premier deer rifle. The AR-7 Explorer was a .22 caliber survival rifle that disassembled easily for compact carrying and storage. AR does not stand for "assault rifle" or "automatic rifle", as is usually the case when reported on by the media, who almost always get their reports wrong. If you would like more information, feel free to contact me any time. I'd love to talk with you, and would love it even more if you were to accept the offer of visiting here in my home state of Wyoming, where you can see so many incredible places, such as Yellowstone National Park, Devil's Tower, Hell's Half Acre (where they filmed the movie Starship Troopers) The Big Horn Mountain Range, Devil's Kitchen, The Red Gulch Dinosaur Track Site, The Buffalo Bill Historic Museum, and far too many other incredible places to name. Our door is always open! Contact me at Pilotage@aol.com if you want to know more. I enjoy your uploads! Thanks for sharing your learning experiences! Eric

As for laws it varies heavily depending on the state. In many places you are more restricted in what you can own than many EU countries.

I have a wishlist of guns that I'd love to have either for practicality or for cool factor, but I've yet to actually own any. I've gone hunting and range shooting some and I'm definitely comfortable around firearms.
I'm not all that interested in what they were showing, except the Barrett, just for fun.
My list is more like CZ SP-01 Tactical, CZ 600 Alpha in 6.5 Creedmoor, CZ 712 G3 Target 12 gauge shotgun, for basics, then the more fun stuff Howa Precision Rifle in 6.5 Crdmr, SCAR-H, MRAD, PS-90, plus more.

The thing is if the U.S. government went to war with Americans with guns the citizens wouldn’t even stand a chance.
The U.S. Military’s technology is so advanced that it makes the a pile of automatic guns look like cavemen with sticks. 5 trained soldiers with full body armor, thermal/night vision cameras, the latest most powerful guns, grenades, and etc could easily take out at least 50 every day citizens. Not to mention the nukes that can destroy large parts of the country, the most advanced military jets on the planet, tanks, armored vehicles, and the strongest navy on the planet, etc.
The only reasonable excuse Americans today have for guns is self defense from other citizens and because they enjoy guns.
I get that some people enjoy guns, but America need some stricter laws at least. There have been more mass shootings in the past few years then days in the year and it’s pathetic. They make it harder to get a drivers license then to buy a gun when it should very obviously be the same or the other way around. If you get a DUI there are consequences. If your mental health declines you can buy a gun.
Keep in mind too 50% of suicide rates in America involve guns.
I like New Zealand’s gun restrictions, because the government asks people who know you about your mental health and stuff. They make you call them and tell them when the gun is leaving the house.
I don’t ever see America banning automatic weapons, but I find it blatantly obvious that the gun laws in place today are a joke and need to be changed a lot.
People shouldn’t be afraid to put their children in public schools or to go to the grocery store.
I live in McKinney Texas and in my city a kid brought a gun to school and killed himself a few years ago. A mass shooter shot up the Allen mall 15 minutes away 1-2 years ago too.
Gun violence is common and local in America and it’s sad that no matter how many people/children die a year seems to make no difference.

You’re woefully misguided. The US government have been beaten despite vastly superior training, weaponry, and numbers many times. The same would be true if they turned on US citizens. US citizens are better armed than most countries standing army. They lack the supply infrastructure which is the only true weakness because a lot of the US military would defect if they were told to go to war against their own people. Guerrilla warfare is insanely powerful and has proven itself against the US military many times.
More gun control doesn’t equal less gun crime. In fact the opposite is true if you look at statistics across the US. The places with the strictest gun laws have by far the most violent crime. As well as that, when you take out suicides and gang violence (both of which would continue at exactly the same rate whether there were guns or not) the number of gun deaths in the US per year is shockingly low considering the size of the population and how many guns there are.
Guns aren’t the problem. A culture that promotes gang activity, ruins mental health, and reduces the value of life is the problem

None of that is even remotely true, against an armed populace like what the U.S. has the Federal Government has NO CHANCE, Zero! also no we don't need more stricter laws that are proven don't work. If you're in favor of another countries restrictions, leave the U.S.

The 2nd amendment under the United States constitution wasn’t or isn’t meant for hunting
The 2nd was made to defend the country from a domestic or foreign threat from tyrannical power, basically what ever the US military or other military’s have I can have ( with the right money )
“A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed “

Just an FYI. The Saiga 12 is essentially the AK Shotgun. It uses the common look of the AK but puts it on a shotgun platform. The ig, "American" equivalent would be the AA-12. Also, I own an AR-10 which is a higher caliber variant of the AR-15 and they only weigh around 7-15lbs (3 - 4.5kg) but these rifles are very versatile. The reason the government likes to go after these rifles is because they match them to the likes of automatic rifles used by the military and they love the term "weapons of war" even though the AR-15 hasn't seen war. Our military has, historically, used the M1 Garand rifle in WW2, yet they don't seek to remove them from civilians. Essentially, the people in charge don't know what they're talking about and it's ultimately hurting law abiding, gun owning, Americans. I think you guys should 100% visit a range over here and experience the joy that is shooting guns. A lot of people that are against owning guns change their view after they shoot them.

I’ve been shooting for years. I’ve shot a fully automatic machine gun at the range a few times. As far as owning one, legally, it’s very expensive because they haven’t made them for the civilian market since 1986. If you have the opportunity to obtain one, you will be fingerprinted, photographed, and the gun is registered with the ATF (Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms). Usually the only way you can buy one is through auction or they are passed down to family members. No one is buying fully automatic weapons in gun shops or gun shows.

New to the channel. Thanks for the content! The store is located at 6382 Old Dixie Hwy in Jonesboro, Georgia. You can’t get more southern than that with an emphasis on “old dixie.” Also, the last rifle is manufactured in my hometown in Tennessee. It is a different world in the southern United States. Also, the reason you don’t see many people carrying guns openly is because most of them conceal carry. Essentially, you don’t know who is carrying. If you want only one issue that divides most Americans, it is the 2nd Amendment of our Constitution. No doubt about it.
