DAF: A Christmas Odyssey | 2D Animation with Physical Models

Happy Holidays, everybody! Here is a native upload of our Christmas short for DAF Trucks. Maybe because you haven’t seen it yet. Maybe because you want to see it again. Mostly because we’re excited about how it turned out ❤️💚🤍
The challenge for this one was to combine the adventurous, nomadic lifestyle of a truck driver with the emotions of being far from your family at home during the holidays, plus the magical imagery of Christmas.
As for the visual style, we wanted to combine physical objects with 2D drawings. To convey the feel of a tradtional Christmas animation, but also to retain the massive tangibility of a truck. Suffice to say, we didn’t suffer from a lack of creative play items!
