Barbra Streisand is a huge part of our family and her music and movies have been played in our household all the time, and they still are to this day! My mom started playing her for me after I was born, and my grandparents and my mom used to listen to her all the time and I still play it for my mom. So let's just say I inherited the Barbra Streisand gene from her, Lol! I've watched many of her movies and listen to some of her CDs and music growing up, and I actually got to see her in Philadelphia in concert in 2012 after her friend Marvin Hamlisch passed away. Marvin was supposed to be the new conductor and music director for The Philly Pops orchestra in Philadelphia, but that never happened because he died. So Barbara decided to tour to honor her friend and she made Philadelphia her first stop on the tour and as soon as we heard she was coming, we got the tickets! We got front row seats and we sat next to her publicist! Barbra gave me a whole bag of goodies, and she talked to me during the show! I was very blessed to have seen this legend in concert, and when she came out to start the show, she received a standing ovation! I still remember the applause from that night when she came out for the first time, it was the loudest standing ovation I ever heard! She was amazing when I heard her sing in person! Her son, Jason Gould, also sang with her that night, and he is starting a musical career of his own and following in his mother's footsteps. This is the biggest Barbra collection I have ever seen in my life, and I hope she gets to hear about this! I'm so glad she got to meet Lou, and I know he is smiling down on his daughter for making his dream come true. I hope and pray that this gets to be displayed in that museum so that Barbra herself and many others can see it. I am sending condolences to Lou's daughter and his family. I am praying that they will find peace and comfort in the years ahead, and I know that Barbra's music and movies will help them keep them entertained and bring laughter and many memories. I know that Lou is up there laughing with Marvin and telling him all about his collection and his beautiful daughter. Please keep us posted when this is in a museum I know my parents and I would love to see it! And I hope it comes to us in Pennsylvania too on exhibition so that we can see it if it comes closer to us! After watching this, I might watch some of barbers movies later! This gave me the idea to listen to her and watch her again! I even have a leopard outfit that's exactly like hers in the opening scene of "Funny Girl," but without the hat, and every time I wear it, I look in the mirror in my bedroom, and I go, "Hello, Gorgeous!" like she does in the movie from 1968! I can't wait to see where this collection goes! I wish you all the best, and I'll be looking out for it if it comes my way to be on exhibition!
From a massive Barbra Streisand fan,
    Dara

She should crowdfund and if your name is on that list, you get into the museum for free!

I shared this with a friend who also collects Barbra. He told me Lou bought his "A Star Is Born" puzzle from him! 😂 It hadn't occurred to me that my friend might have had an active hand in this!😅 (Though it makes sense as collectors typically have a group of folks they network with.) Besides photographs, prints, movie posters, etc., my friend's collection includes items such as a hat used in the "Roller Skate Rag" number in "Funny Girl", a dress from "The Way We Were", a set of monogrammed towels from her art deco house, one of the faux Tiffany lamps that served as centerpieces on tables when she was given AFI's Lifetime Achievement award...even one of the waiter's costumes from "Hello Dolly".... Some great stuff.

I couldn't concentrate on much of anything they were saying in this interview because I was wondering why does Tamara have a little purse pinned to the top of her shirt underneath her chin It looks so strange and weird why would she do that?..... It looks bizarre, what's the reason that this cloth purse is taped to her shirt?

The collection has over 100,000 pieces; they did not say it’s value was $100,000. Just saying…
