KRYPTO (S4E14) Inconvenient Truth About Working with Dogs & Dirty Ways to Increase Ratings #smallville #talkville #season4 - Zábava
I've never seen so many close-ups of Clark's smiles. Tom must have felt pain in his cheek. 😆Lois and Clark in this episode looked like a couple with many years of relationship. And Shelby is their son. I love you guys
@@Costas22Yes, because brothers and sisters routinely fall in love with each other later on. 🙄
@@Melissa.Garrett 🤣Agreed!
Tom needs to patent that smile 😃….and Clark does his back burned in Harvest
yep thats a great episode
Tom loves animals and loves working with them, he already said it. Indeed, the siblings Lois/Clark work ! The Clark Lois’ pet isn’t funny, it’s humiliating but it’s Lois and her awful remarks all along the series. Michael said it the 4x12 episode.
people seem to forget all the other times he smiled with his teeth..😂
"must be a lab dog, even though it's obviously a retriever." The boys giving Ryan NO respect for that joke. Ryan, we caught it.
Hilarious! Love the “Dad jokes” Ryan…😂
Isn't it written by Bryce?
@@danzwkuYou know I don’t know, I thought the guide through the episode that is being said is his writing but I imagine that the comments that are made between that script is the guys adding their commentary.
@@user-Balthazar669 I think Bryce writes it.
that snuck up on me
Best line in the whole show! “A lab dog, even though it’s obviously a retriever”. That was funny and I wanted to honor that comedic moment. Good job. 👏🏻
Clark suggesting to name the dog Krypto and Lois drying him with a red towel were all part of an anniversary tribute to Krypto the Superdog.
There was multiple points in this season where Lois is making Clark accompany her which prevents an opportunity to super-speed away. It was pretty funny seeing Clark's frustrated facial expressions when Lois is not giving him a chance to sneak away and catch the criminal
It's incredible how this smalltown has so much activity that homeland security hasn't been involved.
just under the radar
Lionel Luthor paid them to stay away ages ago
Nothing gives me more joy than Michael's imitation of the Sheriff😂
I was LMAO at that part 😂
I'm waiting for them to get Camille Mitchell on Talkville and see her reaction if Michael tries to do the imitation then.
Honestly, I was away from the pod for a few weeks because this run of eps is not great and Michael's...style, can be grating. But as soon as the twang came out of his mouth I was instant smiles haha.
This is such a comfort episode! ❤ The introduction to Krypto and the banter between Lois and Clark is so funny! "Clarkie"! Lois and Clark say "we" like 20 times and that just solidifies that Shelby is their fur baby. 😂
I love these one off wholesome episodes
I love the cute love-hate banter Lois & Clark have here, best part of the episode. Erica is absolutely delicious with the Lois flirting, only thing missing is the smart Alec remarks Lois is famous for giving out.
@@user-Balthazar669not really "hate" just teasing, there is a nuance...
The dad joke about the dog being a retriever was top notch
"Lois treated Clark kinda like a dog" Tom 😂😂😂😂😂 i can't stop laughing 😂😂 #Queen love lois❤
Haha he probably deserved it ❤😂😂😂 Lois was the boss Queen!
@@Loisandclark_forevercause she has affection for him which is why she treats him that way only doesn’t know it😂❤️
I also noticed that Clark was wearing a blue shirt and sleeping under a red blanket. The dog has a blue collar and red towel. Great Superman reference.
The Chemistry and Banter Between lois and Clark was pure perfection 🥰
YESSS and I def CAN'T WAIT for the podcast to get to S6 Crimson 🤗 really hope they bring Erica on for that! (hopefully she'll be on for S5 too)
Agreed! Lois and Clark’s chemistry and banter was amazing!
@@asyouwish3636 omg yess!! I want them (tom&erica) to sit down and talk about their scenes ♥️😭 it would be awesome and dream come true for cloisfans like me!🙌☺
all time high this episode
Final point 😂 again This whole episode is such a comfort clois episode, the chemistry and banter between lois and clark is so fun to watch and breath of fresh air! They always seem to save the episodes when they're on together!❤
Thanks for noticing love😘
Absolutely agree!❤
🌹🌹 This episode was just clois galore in my opinion 😌
1. As always I loved the banter! We get to see Clark just “complaining” to Chloe but secretly enjoying company of Lois in their barn
2. Like they mentioned, we get to see Clark actually put up with Lois. It’s as if…he likes spending time with her 😂
3. One of the many times we see all of the Kent’s with Lois like one big happy family 😊
4. Shelby serves as a catalyst for more clois ❤ He soon serves as a reminder of her in season 8-10 when he lives all alone in the farm.
I was legitimately so worried that Rosie would've hated this episode but am so happy he liked it some what.
It's definitely not a perfect episode but I feel encapsulates the wholesome positive energy that superman has.
Clark bonding with A rescue dog was just so sweet and lovable ❤❤❤❤
Never seen Clark Smile so much as he did in this episode! # Lois Lane effect ❤😏
even though there was minimal interaction between Clark and Lex, you can really see how their relationship has changed. Clark is done giving Lex any benefit of doubt (even though he'll still keep a little shred of hope for Lex) and he just starts off by confronting him and accusing him. this whole season is a expression of their devolving relationship
This episode was my first introduction to any version of Krypto the Superdog and I just loved him ever since, I named my own dog Krypto and he's 6 now 🥰
What breed is he?
Except it's not Krypto 😅 It's Shelby who has existed in the comics since Superman for all seasons
Krypto was one of those comfort episodes. I loved it.
Shelby as Smallville's version of Krypto was such a great addition to the show. Added some fun moments later on.😀🙏🙏🙏
Really?! I swear I remember seeing Shelby like twice after this episode.
Quite a few times in fact. Wasn't every episode but he was still present.@@sino8r499
@@sino8r499 I believe you’re correct. Unfortunately, Shelby only had a few appearances throughout the rest of the show. However, I think they were bigger scenes. Like when Clark gets possessed by the phantom in Labyrinth, the first thing that confirmed to him that it was a hallucination was Shelby’s bark. So Shelby technically saved him. He even thanks him after Chloe finds him.
This episode was such a fun episode because of Lois&Clark 's dynamics loved this episode!🌹🌹
Lol I love that Tom points out how Clark would have just super sped away from Chloe to save the day, but with Lois, he stays and takes the slow route
He loves being with Lois.
"Krypto" is a special episode, so grateful Tom, Michael & Ryan appreciated it enough to keep this one among the Roses! Glad Tom had fun with Bud because Clark is always awesome in all the scenes with Shelby! Can't wait to check out the dog films that you guys mentioned! Thanks for pointing out how the wall bounced back when Clark tossed the brothers!
FYI: I had to deal with some "Rotten Tomatoes" myself this past week!
Chloe wants Clark to find out she knows, but she doesn’t want to tell him she knows. She wants him to realize and for her to then confirm it. Loved that dynamic and it fits the whole arc of her character up until now, too.
It’s not the only ones to do the same .
About Chloe, You forgot that she spent the 3 first seasons to investigate on him and even betrayed him with Lionel ???
Chole took Lois' advice and is doing her best to help Clark, while balancing between keeping it a secret and gently urging him to tell her the truth. It's a great and better new path for Chloe's character.
@@iloveu172 Tell me exactly how she betrayed him to Lionel. Please. Go ahead. You'll have to avoid quoting Lionel's quote to her "you gave me nothing of any value at all about Clark" but I'm sure you'll manage.
Very nice episode where the trainers did an admirable work ❤and where Clark finds , with Shelby, à companion like himand doesn’t endanger his secret 😊❤🐕 Love the scenes with Clark, Lois, and Clarky- Shelby, it was fun ❤💜 TALKVILLE ❣
I never grew up with a dog, but we did have cats. We didn't have a fenced in area for dog. One cat we had my parents took in a stray when I was baby. Her fur was all matted up when they found her, thus they named her Maddie. She passed away from old age just a couple of weeks before I graduated high school. One of our other cats, my cat Blinky (I was rather young when I named him), was meowing up a storm. It was total Lassie moment. I was like, "What's wrong, Blinky?" I followed him to my bedroom to find Maddie under my bed taking her last breaths, so I watched her die. It was such an emotional moment. It was the first time I had ever seen a living being die, so it was very sad for me, especially with how long we had Maddie. She loved to camp out under our dining room table and mine and my sister's bed, so when my dad buried her, he buried her in the backyard, under the sidewalk leading to the back door. Seeing a pet die, whether they're a dog or a cat, no matter what is a very emotional experience, and that's one case I'll never forget.
Hahaha rosey has me cracking up pretending to be the sheriff
The actors who played 2 brothers in that episode also played 2 brothers on Supernatural. I just recently rewatched Smallville and I was amazed at how many actors who had roles on Smallville appeared on Supernatural then.
Both shows were shot in Canada, so it makes sense.
🌹🌹🌹 Michael, "Rotten Tomatoes can go to hell. and I'm not just saying that cuz they gave my movie 13%" 😂😂😂
I freaking love this side conversation they are having!
Everyone agrees screw rotten tomatos , user score and critic both , can u say what movie that was ?
@@darthekul1why?? It's been around for a while. Why all the fuss now??
@@darthekul1It’s called Back In The Day
@@Mr.NyongoPeople are curious. It’s Back In The Day
@@affordingstyle thanks for the name of it
The dogs definitely made this episode and that also includes Blanche’s intro, the discussion was very entertaining, especially Michael’s hilarious “underpants”chat🤩 It was also nice to see Clark and Lois working together💖
I enjoyed watching Clark and Lois work together and really loved the dynamic Tom and Erica have with each other. I also found it funny with Lois being allergic to Shelby. Thanks again guys ❤️
how many smiles from Clark in this episode 😊 Loved every scene between Clark and Lois of course, it's so much fun watching them annoy and make fun to each other. Their first child Shelby was awesome ♥️
"what does your *underpants doin' in every crime scene?!"* 😂
This was an okay episode and the Golden Retrievers chemistry is just great with Clark Kent. This felt like a comfort epsiode and seeing the characters getting a small break where they can be laid back for a while is great.
I think the Lois and Clark banter demonstrates why he ends up with her rather than Lana. His love for Lana is deep, but their relationship is heavy, especially for someone who already had the weight of the world in his shoulders. Lois totally lightens him up.
19:57 yeah Tom...that happens in Season 10 episode harvest, while Clark saves Lois from Blue K fire....his back is burnt, his shirt is burnt....yeah...and the scene was awesome
I really love this episode! I love dogs, i love the banter between Clark and Lois, i love the Chloe "I know your secret"...and mostly the freedom of be himself Clark has with Shelby. So for me it's easily a 🌹
Tom that hoodie suits perfectly, It's so cool! Keep rocking guys!!
Blanche Opening! ❤️🙏 And First appearance of Shelby!!!💙❤️! 🤣 Always loved Lois and her allergies just sneezing away, Always enjoyed this one back in the day and Today! 🌹🤘
Reminds me of friends, where they were talking about Chloe knowing & helping Clark. In friends when Rachel, phoebe, Joey know about Monica & chandler secretly dating & the girls say wait they don’t know that we know.
In some Superman lore, man of steel comic and I think Lois and Clark, ma Kent sews his uniform and the reason it holds up is his body creates a field around him so any clothes he wears are as tough as him.
If Krypto had been killed, I'm sure Clark would have gone all John Wick here haha! Glad the 2 dogs survived ♥️
💯💙❤️ Clark would have put on the leather jacket and just Wick it up!
Loving that Sheriff impression
Lois and Clark's first fur baby Shelby ❤❤❤🥰💕
Krypto is one of those cute comfort episodes for me. Well, except for the Lana/Jason stuff lol. But I'm also a dog person, I love dogs, I love all animals. It was nice for Clark to have a dog as a companion. He can be himself around Shelby. It was interesting to learn from Tom though that for training, they don't feed the dog for 48 hours so that the dog can concentrate, that seemed a bit cruel, starving a dog like that? Two days may not seem like a lot but when I feed my dog twice a day it just seems unnecessary and a little extreme for acting dogs to not be fed for two days? I don't know how the training process works on TV/film but that didn't sit right with me. They are really well trained and I'm sure were otherwise well looked after but still. 🤷Anyways, I love how Lois teases Clark with wanting to name the dog Clarkie and calling Clark Skipper. She was so funny in this episode. Seeing Blanche at the beginning was cute. I was kinda hoping Tom would have had Rosey or Wesley with him for part of this episode.
yes! I love when Clark says to the dog at least I don't have to hide from you! it's really important cuz (and I get that it's not the same) but Clark doesn't have Pete anymore so it's important for him to have support that's not just his parents.
and sidenote: I could be wrong, but I believe dogs still have that residual aspect from wolves where they go days and weeks if they have to without eating. I think cuz dogs are so domesticated and we treat them as our own children we feel like it would really hurt them if they didn't eat daily but idk i think maybe that's why dog trainers can get away w withholding food for 2 days and it's technically not considered animal cruelty 🤔🤷♀️ really don't know lol
@@asyouwish3636 Absolutely. Shelby came into Clark's life at the right time before he finds out Chloe knows his secret.
True, but my point is that domesticated dogs are too used to being well fed by us humans so if they are neglected from food for days/weeks they will starve because they wouldn't really know how to fend for themselves, unless specifically trained to hunt or born as a stray. And I don't see how not feeding the dog you're training can be considered necessary for them to concentrate? An acting dog usually comes from a family home so would have been used to being fed pretty well. Again I know little about the subject but from my point of view it doesn't make sense.
@LivstevMotherEarth yeah I don't really know myself. I've never worked w animals on set but have heard that they are very specifically trained to ensure they don't get hurt. jeez, decades ago there were lots of instances of animal cruelty in Hollywood like horses getting hurt/killed during battle scenes etc so now i believe they are legally protected. interesting though. I would have thought at most they would just not be fed prior to the scene, not day(s) in advance.
That cute dog nailed the intro
Lois just can't help but hit living things with her car lol. I think any dog lover enjoyed this episode.
I always thought that's why the kents were always in debt is to buy Clark new clothes
Right? If Clark wasn’t free labour that they would have had 2-4 farm hands hired on there, so how bad a businessman was Jonathan Kent?
Did he have gambling addiction?
I mean he was like 3rd generation farmer or more and don’t know how to run a farm without the cost of hiring workers….
😊👋🏻Greetings from Italy, ❤😍👏🏻this episode was really very beautiful, for animal and dog lovers it is really fantastic and also very nice,🔝congratulations and you are extraordinary💫
For a second I thought that Blanche was going to be the guest star this whole episode! What a clickbait thumbnail! 🤣
Thanks for being faithful to us fans. Love the show
I've finally caught up to all of the episodes so I can watch this new one on the day y'all post it! As a Smallville fan since I was a kid (I'm 30 now), Talkville is exactly what I needed 😊
Yo same! This show helped me so much in my teens and early 20s. Now it’s back to help me in my 30s. So cool!
@@Superwolf22 it's a great show!
Shelby was a name of one of Clark's dogs in the comics fyi
This ep is the reason my dog was named Shelby ❤
Krypton has a special place in my heart! There is much to love here with the Clark getting a dog and also building his relationship with Lois. Tom and Erica really work well together and their banter is top notch in this episode. I really loved the smile on Clark's face when Lois stepped in the dog doo!! Comic genius!! Was hoping to see Erica in this episode but maybe she will be in Lucy??? Two roses!!! Podcast gets four roses!!!!!
It is awesome that Tom and Michael are still good friends, they are very different but work together so well. I've said it before but you guys are great and I been a fan since the begining of Smallville! Hope to see more from you guys.
I loved Lois and Clark's banter, Tom and Erica are brilliant as usual... and I love how the show gave Lois and Clark the cutest things like their own baby Shelby. Love it.
I just want to say I love this podcast and it's gotten me to fall back in love with Smallville as it was part of my adolescence. I wish I could come up with some sort of question for an episode but idk how to keep it short and original.
Listened to this earlier now going to go watch it ❤ Sweet Blanche ❤ Krypto is such a good episode ❤ Clarkie 😂😂😂 Thank you for blessing us week after week with this amazing podcast ❤ Happy Talk Ville Wednesday ❤☄️🌽
When Mr Rosenbaum does his impression of the sheriff, the voice he uses reminds me of the voice Dustin Hoffman uses as Dorothy Michaels in TOOTSIE.
Question about the drug testing comment: were they doing that in high schools when SMALLVILLE was in production? I could certainly see that happening now (especially if Clark started running or throwing in slow motion with funky sound effects ... sorry, that was THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN ... )
And, finally, to Mr Rosenbaum: What an ADORABLE DOGGIE!!!
This podcast reignited my love for Smallville after all these years.
When I watch some key scenes in Man of Steel (underrated movie), I see that Smallville also had a very permanent effect on Superman as a franchise, which made it so much stronger.
I agree when Lois Joined her and Clark’s banter was ❤! And then that scene where she hits his shoulder and he catcher her arm! YOU knew it was romance 🥰 after that.
My most favorite dog-themed movie, or j ust animal-themed movie in general, is Disney's Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey. The one they did in the 90s, not the one they made in the 60s. I love that movie to death!
Clois dynamics + shelby saved this episode ❤❤❤
Thanks for S04E14! 🥂🥂🍻🍻
Krypto for 2024 🥳🥳🥳🥳
Lois and Clark's banter is the best thing out of season 4, without her it wouldn't have been the same! ❤
Lois was such a breath of fresh air! which is saying alot cuz I never thought the show was stale lol but she did really impact this season and opened up a whole new world moving forward
@@asyouwish3636 same for me! i've never found it boring but maaybe it would have been if this season was all about the stones and clark/lana again 😂
exactly! they're the best
Lois carried and made season 4. The other new elements (such as the Teagues, Lana's witch possession, Clark's football stuff, and graduation) wouldn't have been enough.
Yes! That’s really when I started watching back then. Lois breathed life into the show.
😂😂😂 Mr Kent, we found your underpants at the scene. 🤣🤣🤣
Man I was cracking up!! 😂🙌
@@Superwolf22 I know. Literally was lol-ing
I really like Chloe now…it was smart giving her the knowledge of Clark’s secret. It’s made her a fun character.
I agree 💯 %
This is the best version of Chloe in the entire series. I love the “tongue in cheek” way Alison plays it.
@michael - Rotten tomatoes isn't people saying "this movie is a 9/10" like IMDB. If a movie is at 90%, that just means that 90% of people thought it was at least a 5 outta 10.
Well trained dogs. They did amazing job + director. I still think that Krypto was more appropriate name.😃
This episode was an emotional one for me. I enjoyed the dog element. Lex’s line about Lionel and Genave writing a parenting book was brilliant. It was nice to see John Glover again. I enjoyed the dog busting the glass scene. My dog personally likes to carry two by fours through the yard. Y’all rock!
I hope y'all get the opportunity to bring Jensen in before y'all are done with season 4. Be awesome to see him on talkville
I think Krypto would have worked better if it aired immediately after Pariah, so that episode 13 was Krypto and episode 14 was Recruit.
Krypto would have worked better tonally after Pariah (and Alicia's murder) since it starts on a sadder note and then ends with a little more happiness. Always seemed weird to me that after Pariah, Recruit aired as if Clark had completely gotten over Alicia's murder.
That's kinda what I pointed out last week with Pariah. Yeah, Krypto should have absolutely aired after Pariah instead of Recruit. Would have made much more sense.
The dog played Lex perfectly at the beginning 😂
I love and appreciate that Ryan used Animorphs as a verb! Growing up, I loved the books! And for a first time watch, I can totally see how someone could think that, especially since how Kryptonite can effect regular people.
I just rewatched this episode and wondered what yall were up to now and I am SO SO SO HAPPY to have come about your talk show!!
They did show Clark shelter someone from flames and then stand up and the back of his clothes are all singed off, multiple times, throughout the series. I think they even did it in the first episode if I am remembering correctly. I will have to go back and watch it again.
I really hope you guys have given Justin Hartley the heads up for the start of season 6 episodes. We gotta get him on. The Clark Kent references in this is us?! Best green arrow
11:07 lolllll! The part when ‘Clarkie’ destroyed the table in half, John gets pissed when also ate his T-Bone🥩 and harps with Bad dog while upset when has to fix lmao!😂🤣
Fun Talkville episode guys! You made me laugh a lot!
ha ha ha ha dog intro!!!!!! perfect!!!!!
As for the glass she jumped through I assumed, it was fake glass made by sugar.
This was the first episode I ever saw as a kid, just happened to walk into the room where my mom was watching and saw a dog, and from then on I was hooked
The timing of this episode was great because yesterday i was at the beach and a dog I never met before enlisted me in a game of Fetch.
-While I was watching the episode I thought, "Micheal has to give it at least 1 rose for being cute."
-those burned clothes comments had me in stitches. 🤣🤣🤣
-I'm disappointed Micheal didn't comment on Lois's line of "every person I've hit has been fine." That was terrible but hilarious.
-thank goodness there was no morphing, I feel like that would've been a continuation of the original Charmed episode from 1999.
I don't know why, but I find "Clarky" hilarious. I named my DC Universe character Clarky, because of this episode. Lois Teasing Clark in this manner, was more brilliance. I am sure it was a combination of writing, directing and acting. Lois is clearly attracted to Clark, but not aware of it.
My wife and I have been rescuing dogs for 30 years, greyhounds, pitbulls, Labs. When they age out, it's SO hard but we keep rescuing. We love our pups, and so many need the help. having pups around the house is always awesome!
In the comic mini series "Superman For All Seasons" which inspired Smallville featured a Golden Retriever named Shelby. Also in the Superman 1978 movie the family dog was a Golden Retriever too.
Oh cool that someone noticed too!
Welling’s laugh when talking about the football drug testing 😂🤣😂🤣😂

Krypto is my most rewatched episode of season 4. The dog looks like my red setter, Ziggy. This episode represents all that makes smallville good, Family, heart and Dogs.
Just watched S4 E12 where Alicia gets hung, amazing acting Tom. Even though I've seen the seasons many times, and I'm a huge 6.5 guy, when you yelled Nooo, actually shed a tear or 2. Awesome acting. Also reminded me of Superman 1, when Lois dies in the Earthquake 🫨. That moved me too when Clark yelled so loud it ran throughout the earth.
As a dog person and huge fan of the Krypto cartoon when I was a kid this was and will always be one of my favorites
I love dogs too. The entire Krypto animated series was put on DVD a year ago.
The dogs were so cute! I love rotties and goldens! They definitely made this episode ❤
When are we going to see Michael on Hot Ones?
"It was a lab dog despite clearly being a Golden Retriever" I laughed my ass off at that
re: The jumping through glass stunt. At least for the first Resident Evil movie, they used sugar glass. One of the higher ups on that movie asked for thicker glass, and the dog trainer refused, cause if the dog couldn't jump through it he'd lose trust in the trainer and never do that stunt again
And as for Clark getting his back burned, that happens in season 9
Speaking of Cheaper by the Dozen, I want to know how Tom had any extra time to film that movie since that would have been in timing of filming this show. Anyone know how that happened, since Tomvorteh talks about how much he worked during this show?
I heard that they scheduled around Tom to be able to include him since he did have a grueling 6 month on set for Smallville (probably closer to 8 months per season). which is so cool if it's true, cuz that's a big deal considering the complexities of filming w so many kids not to mention several big names too!
@@asyouwish3636 Tom has stated multiple times that he worked on Smallville 6 days a week, 10 months a year. It seems like very little time to work on anything else unless it was on his two months off.
It had to be during their summer hiatus. He wasn't in the movie that much so it was probably way easier of a schedule compared to Smallville.
Tom made three movies while filming Smallville-The two Cheaper by the Dozen movies and The Fog.
@@cherylebbs2079 I understand that. I'm curious when he had the time.
Great video! I have one request. For the last episode for this season (season 4) can Tom be in person with Micheal and Mr. Ryan? That would be a great way to celebrate the end to the season finale. Keep it up guys! ❤
Season 4 has some fun moments. Love Ryan doing the summary.
When the wall shook as the guys bounced off, cracked me up
.😂😂
I agree Michael. More support needed for animals, it's people that ruin their behaviors and temperament.
