Contrary to what some people say, you do not need to buy everything! Specially if you're just going to play solo campaigns. Link to doc: drive.google.com/drive/folder...
I just got it and then looked at Solo and was worried but this helped a lot! I had no idea about the fan made campaigns which unlocks this to a whole new level!!
Thanks for putting this up together, very useful! IA has such a great campaign system, probably the best I have seen in a boardgame. And those fan made solo systems are a blast. The new Imperial Commander 2 is just like the official app but you can play every campaign that exists. Amazing!
Not sure why this just came into my feed now, but as someone with hundreds of hours into Imperial Assault (including dozens of skirmish games, multiple times through each solo campaign, and significant hours in standard campaigns), I’ll say that some box expansions are definitely better than others. The good news is, the boxes which are better for campaign are also better for skirmish and vice versa. So, here’s likely the best order for those: 1. Jabba’s Realm (just the best expansion value in the game) 2-3. Either RtH or HotE. Hoth is better for solo play (HotE doesn’t have an app campaign) but I personally prefer HotE for everything else. 4. Tyrants of Lothal 5. Bedpan Gambit (unless you really really like it in which case if can move up above Tyrants) 6. Twin Shadows (it has its fans, but in terms of pure value, especially for someone who doesn’t know much about this game, this one is the worst.) All the boxes are great though, and I recommend IA to anyone considering it. PS. If you happen to be a skirmish player out there, be sure to check out the IACP!
Wow, nice write up! Thanks for the insight! I still need to finish painting my minis for this. I also need to come up with a decent storage solution to facilitate setup.
I personally just took the inserts out of the core box and RtH box. The Hoth box holds all the miniatures (with the fragile ones in their own plastic bags for protection) and a scrap piece of foam dividing the box into 4 segments (Rebels, Mercs, Empire, big and weird stuff). Since I have everything, my cards and manuals fill the core box. The tokens and map tiles I put in a large tackle box for east access.
Hey Robert- Subscriber 160 here... Excellent video and information. Downloaded your PDF and look forward to digging in deep into what you have provided. I have only used Legends of the Alliance - have heard of Imperial Commander 2, but not used - have not heard of RAIV. I wIll have to check out the last two more. It's kind of interesting that they have not Soloized Skirmish yet - would seem pretty simple if they applied the Legends of the Alliance AI system to Skirmish. Look forward to more of these types of guides. Cheers
Absolute blast for a newjoiner as me, thank you for the effort on compiling all this. Have at one question, are the cards from the raid systems MTG sized (for sleeping purposes)?
Hi! Happy to help. They are standard american sized, if I remember correctly. I stretched the images so I was able to sleeve them in Standard CCG size slerves, but that took a lot of work lol.
Spoiler: I bought everything. Seriously, though, I didn't. Someone gifted me everything. I feel very lucky but very overwhelmed with content for a game I've never even played!

Thank you! Yes I think any board gamer should try this game at some point, it's just such a joy to play.
Glad to see my articles are still being referenced years later xD
I really should do the last 3 and also do the boxes. 🤔🤔
They are extremely helpful, thank you!
Great stuff, this and the horizons of spirit island vid got me to sub.
Thank you! Glad you enjoy the content!

Just remember that the most important thing is to buy what is the coolest. If you really want to play Tusken Raiders, that’s what you should get.

Hi! Thanks for subbing! I definitely loved using RAIV. I'm not opposed to apps, but I much prefer being able to play board games completely analog.
Hey Robert, subscriber 161 here. I just wanted to say thanks for the video
@@dmelz7751 You're welcome! Thanks for the sub!

The doc needs to be updated. Print Studio will not print those cards.
Shoot, that's unfortunate. Thanks for the heads up, I'll remove the links when I get a chance.

That's one hell of a gift! But yes it's definitely overwhelming lol
I don't love luke. he's my least favorite lol
