Not sure how you got your hands on these, but this is an awesome look into how they created these sounds and vocals.
I was surprised by how much of a bass line ran through these tracks; as they mixed things so the vocals and specific instrumentations were accented; cleverly blending in percussion as well as that all-important bass line running as a constant throughout these compositions.
This was and is my favourite ABBA album, bar none. It's a mature sound, muted yet still playful enough to hide some of the pain this group was experiencing through the last couple of years they were together.
My favourite ABBA tracks; definitely for this album; On And On and On. From other albums; Gimme Gimme Gimme (a man after midnight), The Visitors (very dark yet still incredibly well produced with Frida at the main mike for a change), and a non-hit worldwide (but was a hit here in Canada) Angel Eyes. That song, in my very humble opinion, was the finest showcase of their kick-@$$ed harmonies on any track they've ever recorded, and they've been perfection in everything they laid their talents to.

it's extremely interesting to hear alternative versions when you know the originals so well. So many previously unheard layers, fascinating! I heard that "If It Wasn't For The Nights" had 9 alternative versions, do you know anything about it?
It is true that 'If It Wasn't For The Nights' had several alternate versions, but sadly we don't have access to those, given that they have never been released!
