My new favourite band! I've been listening to both albums flat out almost every day. Can't wait for more!

I love how this in-depth breakdown of the lyrics and music is significantly shorter than the actual song.

Hyperion is an absolute monster of a novel -- as is this track! I had always hoped the novel was the inspiration, but it's great having it confirmed.

You’re so lucky to have been able to catch both Wheel and Soen. I found Soen first and Wheel has just elevated my love for hard, melodic, progressive music.

I've been a metal fan since the late 80's and discovered I'm very particular about certain qualities in this music that I tend to gravitate towards. In recent years I've been searching for new, exciting and intelligent music to to fill a void that was becoming impossible to fill. The advent of Spotify was a great tool to get the chance to listen to new genres of music and because I am a fan of TOOL the AI in Spotify created playlists of prog metal songs. I listened and listened for months, all types of songs, all types of sounds, all types of voices. I always found something I didn't like about most of what I heard. So in the end there was this one song that kept popping up in the playlists and every time it played I was happy to hear it because it had (imo) all the qualities that I liked and the sound and structure was something like I'd never heard before. I realised this was what I was looking for. Something totally different. Seemingly not bound by the usual structure of any particular genre and even though lots of people kept saying it was TOOL cloning I didn't see it that way. The song was Wheel. As a stupid side note I'm a cyclist so I thought, is this for real? I pick one song out of 50 that I like and the band is called Wheel? Come on! So I had to check them out some more and I am so glad I did. All the songs are amazing. The energy is there. The feeling is there. The quality is there. The meaning is there. I don't part with my money easily but I immediately bought everything they had that was available and pre-ordered Resident Human (which I've now had for a while). It's serious music. The way the drumming sometimes feels disconnected but yet fits in is something that gets my attention. It's like trying to figure out a puzzle that I can't solve and it has the effect of keeping the music interesting time after time. In fact the timing of everything keeps the music interesting. It's a real challenge trying to sing along. All in all for me, it's like a good book that you can re-read many times and still get something out it each time you read it. Please Wheel, just keep doing what you're doing. Your natural progression is so far is perfect. Thank you guys for sharing your music with us all.

@framedoc1 - what a wonderfully thoughtful comment / personal review. as if i read my own thoughts. i have nothing to do with the band, just a new-found, lightning-stricken fan, but i wanted to thank you for stopping by and bothering to express your appreciation and gratitude. united we thrive, divided we fall…

@ thanks for letting me know I’m not the only one with thoughts like this 👍 I absolutely still stand by all of those thoughts and more, even 4 months further on! Good life to you 🙏🏻

If the music industry didn't completely suck, this band would be huge. Keep telling your friends about them. I don't want them to ever want for an audience, at least!

Wow! Very honest and meaningful words and so very well put! I love how you put them so neutral, I found that if you put it as neutral and equally passionate as you did, people learn from themselves instead of "beeing told something" by you. I found that for most people I know this intuitive and reflective learning is what breaks something open in them and potentially blossoming into an idea.
Humans are amazing like that. Shame so many do not realize it. Even I fooled myself for years, thinking I was trash when in reality I am just me. Like everyone else is just themselves. Words like cringe and hate lost almost all of their meaning since I came to these conclusions.
I hope your message reaches many and let's not even get me started on the amazing music and rhythms of ya'll! :D
Good fortune and health to you and anyone reading this!
