One of the most pervasive behavior problems we face is dealing with dogs that are afraid. They may be fearful of people, of other dogs, and even of objects. There are several ways we can address these issues -- all of them require empathy, compassion, and knowledge. Using video and real life examples, we discuss how to help our fearful friends.

Thanks for sharing all these fantastic clips. If only more people who bring dogs into their lives would actually have the desire to learn these vital and important bits of information as much as the people who are trainers and behavior professionals!

Unfortunately, toward the end of the video during the consult, she did not answer the man's question or provide any real direction.

I agree with 44prot. I enjoy teaching these techniques to my students and how to read their dogs signals. It would be nice if more people would listen to professional feedback from their trainer, follow through with training, not place their dog in a stressful situation and learn to be calm themselves!

I don't know why women like to play dog trainer or dog expert.

Dog training is not a controlled profession in the United States, so yes, every dog trainer who is not an applied animal behaviorist is not a training expert. Women just so happen to make up most of applied animal behaviorists and animal trainers, maybe because they tend to actually want to work with animals.
