    Hi, i was just wondering what the need to fry the potatoes at the beginning was? Does it add much flavour or isit simply to reduce cooking time?

      Also what is the total cooking time, from when the chicken is added back to the pot?

      Hi
      It is not necessary to fry the potatoes. The reason I did 1. is like you said it reduced the cooking time and 2. this is how I was taught by my mum and grandmother.
      You can microwave the potatoes for 4-5 minutes if you want another alternative.
      It takes around 25 mins for the cooking process.

      So I made this today mashallah was good however was over powering from the cumin andddd I forgot to add the gram masala lol but tasted fine tho with roti I will deffo do this again tho jazakallah x

      Hi,
      I do actually, I love cooking on medium or high heat. It cooks faster and does not overcook the food either.

    Hello. miam miam! la daube de poulet paraite appetissant. I found this recipe being premiered purely by luck and watched z end when u were plating it. definitely I will try it at home. I prefer to fry the chicken pieces thoroughly to remove the pinkish colour of uncooked chicken meat. that's my way. I think u did an amazing job. can it be served with side salad, different pickles, hot dholl puris and chutneys? kindly reply back.

      Exactly this is why I like to fry the chicken or any meat first. ☺️
      Yes, it can be served with different varieties of salad, pickles, dhal puri, rice( plain or fricassée)roti, bread…..
