Using the same calculation this man was reaching 41 KPH/25 MPH at an entire second faster than Bolt.
@@FffFff-qr9xs World Record is one of the short animated films of The Animatrix, which tells the story of an athlete who becomes aware of the Matrix while attempting to set the world record for the 100 meters sprint. It was created by Madhouse, written by Yoshiaki Kawajiri and directed by Takeshi Koike.
There is strong evidence to suggest Dan is an incarnation of The One, specifically the 4th One. Even those like Neo who sensed that something was off about the world around them couldn't free themselves without the help of others. Dan doesn't just temporarily break free of the Matrix through sheer force of will, he does it while MULTIPLE agents ASSIGNED TO HIM fail to stop him from doing so. It's very likely his previous "doping" incident referenced in the full animation was something similar to this situation. Look closely at 2:20. The first thing he does is instinctively pull out the spike connecting his brain to the matrix. That's where the blood is flowing from. He disconnected from the Matrix, without his pod shutting down and severing the connection safely, (this is what the red pill does, alongside tracking your actual body) or without something similar, like a terminal. This is supposed to kill you. At the end, he exhibits what looks like the early signs of flight/levitation. We see his feet lift off the ground, and the nearby nuts begin to float as well. We've seen a similar effect to the surroundings when Smith and Neo fly. They are the only other ones we know of to exhibit this trait. One is a known One, another had a One imprinted on him. As for being the 4th, if you watch the full animation there is a LOT of symbolism referencing the number 4. He runs in the 4th lane, and the first number he sees before breaking free temporarily is 4. The most visible number on his jersey that you see most often is 4, and even his dreads fly back in 4 big bundles when tied back and running. You see the cross once on the pattern of his car keys, and then again when he's levitating. A cross, as you know, has 4 points. He's shown that he doesn't need a red pill, and he instinctively knows exactly how to physically disconnect himself from the Matrix. It's very likely we're looking at the 4th One. Shocking his mind seems to have only developed his awareness further, and crippling him in the Matrix is useless, as he's beginning to understand the only limits there are the ones he believes in.

+Dave Smith-Charron I contest that it's a product of motivation / will power. I think that the matrix was programmed to cover all human emotions so that it feels authentic, but I don't think they were able to dig deep enough into the human mind to find this level of will power. Davis is so far removed from what was programmed that he literally broke the game because they didn't know how to contain that emotion when pushed as far as Davis pushes it. I mean, his motivation was so strong he literally healed and then increased the muscle mass of his legs in the middle of the race without any matrix-aware intent. He wasn't aware of the matrix, was not pursuing an exit or anything like the folks in the movies. He simply refused to quit to such an extreme that he learned how to do the athletic equivalent of jumping from building to building without any outside influence, hence why he can stand at the end. He knows it's all in his head, and thus he knows he can change the world at will, even if only for a few seconds.

Neo and everyone else needed the red pill to wake up. This guy did it naturally. I wonder if there are more people like him who can wake up from the Matrix without help.
From what I understand this man is (obviously) in the Matrix. As many comments stated, no human legs can run 100 m in 9 seconds. Being a top athlete, his will was far beyond his physical limitations, he bended the Matrix momentarily to suit his will, changing his legs. Agents got caught of this and started chasing him, and while he's running he saw a glimpse of the Matrix' line of code possibly because of him breaking the limits and that his mind was aware that his body was not his own. When he woke up in his vat though, he was just put back by the maintainance robots into the Matrix. He was severely injured because he was running at such a high speed and his mind couldn't recover from the shock, his body flailed around. Aside from this injury, agents might have put a limiter on him too, and now he's in healthcare. He wanted to stand, he wills his body to stand despite his health and he broke the limits again only to be put back in place again.
"As many comments stated, no human legs can run 100 m in 9 seconds." That is factually wrong. There is a lot of runners who can run at 9second 100m pace in relay races, the issue is the acceleration from the starting position. So the issue isn't running 100m in 9 seconds, or legs. The issue is accelerating from a deadstop and then running 100m in less than 9 seconds.
If anyone is wondering, this song is called 4:30 and it is by Danger. He’s a French artist who also worked on the Furi ost. Dude makes some great stuff.
It's not Madhouse. His name is Takeshi Koike, one of the most unique animator of the last generation. Watch Redline to see just how a revolution he was for Madhouse
Motivational? The fact that none of this is actually happening and the character is being kept imagining all of this happening and has no way to change it is deeply depressing. It’s like when you get into philosophy and realize that we’re all just drowning in the illusion of reality as we watch a movie unfold around us.
The matrix looses hope when a persistent mind defies it. I don't mean by this an immaginary reality outcome. But the one we are currently on requires one to have a goal tolive for. And wether one accomplishes it or not, his death would have a meaning to him.
You all think he pushed his body to its limits and cuz of it he woke up, but that’s not it, he knew he could go faster but it wasn’t happening, then his mind push though the matrix construct and snapped Him to his senses , as he woke instantly he understood why his true potential was being held back, he was in a world of limits, when he knows he’s limitless 😎👍, remember, it’s our minds that can only brake the linear ways of the matrix
morpheus-do you believe that my being stronger or faster has anything to do with my muscles in this place? you think that's air your breathing. your faster than this. don't think you are know you are. i think you hit the nail on the head bro.
It's actually not about surpassing his limits, he wasn't running in the first place, only under the illusion that he was. But even with the illusion of the matrix, the will to run and the intention were real. Since he was trying so hard to accelerate the matrix couldn't handle it and broke, and he began seeing the numbers, as a result of the error. He reached past the normal interface of the world, and just like neo manipulates his environment in the matrix with his will, he achieved the same ability. His virtual environment responded to his intense desire and automatically beefed up his muscles. As a result of glancing at the truth, he broke the rules of matrix, and woke up. After being shocked, it happened once again when he was on the wheelchair presumably because of his desire to move forward, but it ultimately wasn't successful and he collapsed.
I disagree. While I agree with you that "technically," he wasn't running, for all intents and purposes, in his reality he WAS. The only thing I disagree with you is that idea that he gained the powers of altering reality by waking up. No other people besides "The One," get this, though PLENTY wake up from the Matrix. His muscles weren't "beefing up," it was to zero in on the idea that he was literally tearing himself apart, but pushing on regardless. So, it very much IS about surpassing limits. In fact, that's the very core of the short. I would recommend a second watch.
@@isaaccampbell2915 Well...I mean no. The director and writers definitely had an idea of how they wanted the movie to be perceived. This is the whole "well, that's just your opinion," argument, which is fine. But that simply means NEITHER of our assertions are true unless it's backed by the writers themselves. My only point was certain assertions made in the original argument are wrong. There's no evidence at all that he's able to manipulate the environment like Neo. I actually agree with 99% of the original statement. However, one, I disagree that him waking up SOMEHOW granted him the powers of The One, completely outside all Matrix canon, and two, that it was something aside from pushing beyond one's limits. Because the poster asserted that the movie WAS NOT about that, but failed to provide any OTHER core theme for the story. Literally, everything in the short was ABOUT pushing beyond the limits of normal people, it was almost heavy-handed about it. So if you're going to say NO, that's NOT what it's about, I'd hope you would have some pretty convincing explanations about just what it WAS about.
The machines probably didn’t know how to simulate the emotions of feelings he was feeling when he broke the record, because that was something that no human had ever done it before. The machines probably had a fixed value for the top speed of a human, that’s why nobody could ever shoot the agents in the movies. Because the agents were probably programmed to be a bit faster than the fastest human, but since the guy is faster than the fastest already that’s why the agents couldn’t catch him. So they stop time. That’s doesn’t work so they have to eject him from the simulation and reinsert him with broken legs. The machines probably just made his leg broken to prevent it from happening again because they still don’t know how to fix the problem. In the end the guy subconsciously knows that his legs shouldn’t actually be broken Nd if he ran out before he can do it again. So he try’s, the agents panick because they know they won’t be able to stop him if he runs, but when he try’s to lift his legs he falls Nd the agent turn back to regular ppl. I guess the idea is that sometimes society suppresses great ideas because they don’t understand or know how to control it. And sometimes if you try to be too different you could loose everything Fundamentally I think everyone wants true freedom. But can we ever have it? More importantly is freedom necessary for peace and happiness? I think that’s what the pills represent
@@daikon3199 what actually happened is that his will to run was so strong that he broke out of the matrix. With the reason he was able to run so fast is because the matrix was responding to his will
@@casualbeluga2724 i think so to just like neo can fly and defy the matrix i think dan would be able to have super speed or something to that area if they keep going with his character.
All things are left to personal interpretation, but the way I see it, he suffered his whole life trying to reach that point. Put his body through everything, failed countless times, and got back up again. During this run he gave his absolute all. Not what you'd think is your all (but really isn't). I mean this dude gave his 100%. ACTUAL 100! But in doing it, life itself held him back. It wouldn't allow him to give more. So through his own sheer will, he realized this and said "No. I want more. I AM MORE!" and he ran even faster than life allowed. By doing this, totally unintentionally, he broke out of the Matrix. The Matrix put his ass back in, and so he earned an impossible time (the human body apparently can't run faster than 9 sec in the 100m). He got everything he wanted... ...except he now knew he was in an artificial world. Why be happy with just a scoop of ice cream when you could have the WHOLE DAMN FACTORY!? So once again, despite life telling him otherwise, impairing him for life, yet through his own sheer will.... He defied them AGAIN. This is what I think this short was about: Defying the restrictions life places on you, and being more. No...that's YOUR limitation!

Expensive traditional animation is like magic and animated tracking shots are the kind of thing that elevates traditional animation to that higher form of artistry.
@@niloyabid2851 I think it's plausible that the humans were hand drawn and that the buildings are CG. They just follow perspective a little too perfectly for me to take it as 100% hand drawn at face value. I'm not saying it's impossible, but I would need to see proof that every frame in that sequence was made by hand especially since it's a 24 fps shot. It just makes more sense to use CG as a shortcut if you can.

So the matrix is kind of like a computer. it was programmed so that humans can get plugged in and live out a fictional version of life. This guy, the runner, sees that he's in a computer. he might not understand what he sees, but he knows there's something else out there. e pushes the limits, and refuses to accept the limits of the program. what makes Neo the One is that once he realized he was in a computer, he was able to rewrite the program. if the program said "when bullets hit human, human dies", neo rewrote it say "bullets don't hit Neo."
And yet, in his heart, the price was well worth it. For that which he saw, the freedom which he felt, was that which he gave to himself. For some, just a glimpse is all it takes.
Jesus this animation is gorgeous and so expressive! I especially love them actually drawing track spikes and the runners using proper form at the start. (Start w/ your body low in a sort of tackle pose and rise up)

2:13 Had an out-of-body experience years ago and this scene reminds me so much of it. There’s this deeper reality that’s always been there that you become aware of. You can begin to see and read a type of blueprint existing behind and within everything, like the numeric code he sees appear. Then I woke from the dream that is this physical world and remembered who I used to be before I ever incarnated here in the first place. I was me again, and I was free. Now I’m back here again in the physical, asleep for the time being; but I realized in that higher reality that I should spend this life trying to help others and make a difference before it’s finally my time to go.

Would be neat to see a longer form story for this character, as I imagine it would be strange to wake up so atrophied when you dedicated your simulated life to building yourself up physically.

CZcams CEO: After many years of intelligence thinking we are proud to recommend such motivational content to you 11 years later
Lmao your account didn't even existed 11 years ago.
Motivational? The fact that none of this is actually happening and the character is being kept imagining all of this happening and has no way to change it is deeply depressing. It’s like when you get into philosophy and realize that we’re all just drowning in the illusion of reality as we watch a movie unfold around us.
He knows that laziness and rest is what they want. Still he chooses hunger and pain, even while in chains
but he is in the MATRIX ...ALL this is just an illusion of his mind ._.
The matrix looses hope when a persistent mind defies it. I don't mean by this an immaginary reality outcome. But the one we are currently on requires one to have a goal tolive for. And wether one accomplishes it or not, his death would have a meaning to him.
Why did this speak to me so deep

You all think he pushed his body to its limits and cuz of it he woke up, but that’s not it, he knew he could go faster but it wasn’t happening, then his mind push though the matrix construct and snapped Him to his senses , as he woke instantly he understood why his true potential was being held back, he was in a world of limits, when he knows he’s limitless 😎👍, remember, it’s our minds that can only brake the linear ways of the matrix

Biography of Usian Bolt, when he was trapped inside the Matrix.
Thanks
Maybe the wheelchair is why he was dreaming about running in the first place
I would recommend a second watch.
kabukibear nah this video is meant to be perceived of how you would like it to be perceived, I would like to perceive it as my initial thought
And sometimes if you try to be too different you could loose everything
Fundamentally I think everyone wants true freedom. But can we ever have it?

Damn well said. I didn't understand anything that was happening til I read your comments
Johann!!
The way this man runs makes it so epic that I feel that I could reach infinity.
The Agents looks really amazing.

Is no one gonna talk about how perfect the tracking shot at 1:36 is? I know it's probably just CG but that is legitimately one of the most badass things things I've ever seen. Expensive traditional animation is like magic and animated tracking shots are the kind of thing that elevates traditional animation to that higher form of artistry.
This is a example of how CGI should be used, CGI is a tool in a box and with proper use it can really bring out animation

@@cyrolocker1229 its actually 2d haha
@@niloyabid2851 I think it's plausible that the humans were hand drawn and that the buildings are CG. They just follow perspective a little too perfectly for me to take it as 100% hand drawn at face value. I'm not saying it's impossible, but I would need to see proof that every frame in that sequence was made by hand especially since it's a 24 fps shot. If he ran so hard he broke out of the matrix, shouldn't he be considered the one?
it's not cuz you catch a glimpse of computer that you can manipulate the code
Dave Smith-Charron I'm sorry... What?
So the matrix is kind of like a computer. it was programmed so that humans can get plugged in and live out a fictional version of life. This guy, the runner, sees that he's in a computer. he might not understand what he sees, but he knows there's something else out there. e pushes the limits, and refuses to accept the limits of the program.
what makes Neo the One is that once he realized he was in a computer, he was able to rewrite the program. if the program said "when bullets hit human, human dies", neo rewrote it say "bullets don't hit Neo."
Dave Smith-Charron
Very nicely wrote, that actually makes sense. Thank you.

Bruh, imagine being able to run so fast you realize you're in the Matrix lol. And then the nurse who takes care of you is Haruhara Haruko from FLCL.
He literally ran out of the matrix by just wanting to run faster basically surpassing the matrix limits since the matrix uses the laws of the real world physics so he broke the limits.
He literally broke the frame rate and physics engine of the Matrix literally making it crash and him now being out of it for the short amount of time he was
the feeling of power and freedom when you manage for milliseconds to overcome fatigue and reach a strength beyond the ordinary is one of the best things I have ever felt, I couldn't imagine how good it would be to wake up from the matrix on your own
