    At 31 she has a lot more life experience than some student just getting out of college at 22. She’ll instantly have more respect than that 22 year old recent college grad.

      Age doesn't mean a damn thing compared to how they carry themselves. A leader is a leader. You're born with it.
      We had a first sergeant who the whole company would swear the guy had dementia. That's probably a whole different issue.

My grandfather was awarded a battlefield commission in Korea and promoted to an officer rank due to the leadership he demonstrated on the field of battle and because there was a shortage of officers fighting in Korea at the time. He never had any proper officer training but he made a damn fine leader. He was able to become a lieutenant colonel before finally retiring in 1970 after 26 years of service. He intentionally retired before he made colonel because in his words, at the rank of colonel and above you get involved in army politics, but all he wanted to be was a soldier and a leader first and foremost.

    27 have a bachelor degree trying to join the Air Force but need to lose some weight first. After I’m in I’ll try and become a officer.

      Go in as an officer, if you go in as enlisted it’s going to be so much harder to commission

    Give credit where credit is do young college student going through basic then officer basic course my hats off too you. For those that don’t know they’re literally treated worse then privates great job for any and all that make it through.

      No they aren’t. I’ve gone through basic twice as an enlistee, they can deal with doing it twice while getting paid e-5. I swear commissioned officers will find anything to bitch about.

      In my experience this is true. For some odd reason the ones I knew that came out of ROTC were always on a power trip.

      @@worstbehaviorstories…Doing ROTC you still have to go through OCS. I would think someone coming out of an academy would be on a power trip and also be the best at what they do.

      @@jamesphillips5868 perhaps but as I said this was just from my experience. They always eventually get humbled and end up growing in their role and they become much better officers for it in the end. Just an observation I made from when I was in.

      @@michaelbrooks9143let’s be honest here the senior NCOs know a lot more than the new younger officers so it’s best to learn from them and take the ropes slowly.

    If you are in the Philippines your rejected.. Even if you are professional or with a degree.. They are very strict with comes in ages.. Age limit is 21 to 25.. I think our soldiers in coming years will lessen..

      @@ErickaBernie What I want to explain is, in the age of 31 yrs old your no longer qualified in the Officer Candidate Course in the Philippines .. Here's the qualification..
      -Applicants must be graduates of Baccalaureate degree, natural-born Filipino citizen, single with no parental obligation, at least five-feet tall both for male and female, physically and mentally fit, and at least 21 years old & not a day older than 27 years old upon taking the oath..
      .. That's why I said it will lessen the applicants for soldier because of the new age requirements..

      I agree Women should not be wearing makeup in the Military or in the Police force and their hair should be cut short just like the Men , it’s bad enough that the standards are lowered to help Women qualify particularly in the Military , the double standards and hypocrisy is laughable !

      OCS for college graduates is not selective unlike for current soldiers, anyone can choose to do it and its not like a huge portion that do it fail or something lmao. if its bc shes 31, up to 35 and tbh 36 or 37 with a waiver can still do it.
