  • Hello everyone! the "Amethyst key" in my system refers to someone with "left+up essence"
What is that? How does it inform your approach to style, your needs and challenges? We'll explore that today.

Rita, you said or wrote a few times “Left-Down” in your video. Just so you know

I confused myself with left up and left down. I’m def a left up. I start to move to left down in my style when I feel the influence of others too much or when I question myself. Repressed is the right word!

Something that has been working for me (and really helped me settle on Left Up Essence) was thinking about the system as a spectrum. I knew I was left but the up or down wasn't immediately apparent. So I tried going a little more left until it felt too much and then I dialed it back to the comfort zone. And then I tried going up a little and down a little. Up felt better so then I tried going farther and father up until I found I was past my comfort zone and then I dialed it back. I'm more of a hands-on experimenter so this really worked for me more than a quiz or checklist could. I actually like that there isn't a quiz for this system.

Thank you thank you thank you Rita for this video! You have such a delightful way of carrying yourself and presenting your system. No other style system has ever made me feel so seen. I'm so excited to belong in this quadrant!! Thank you for giving us the permission to truly show up as who we were made to be!

I just love all your style videos because they’re based on my feelings rather than expectations or trends

Your energetic description is spot on for how I am with clothes. I was in between LU and RD and this makes me feel better about the LU quadrant. I've explained some of those traits in conversation and sometimes felt strange about it because it may feel like "too much" but the "too much" makes me feel safe in a way

This is wonderful! You really helped me by explaining this. It's so important to me to manifest my inner world, but I got derailed by that feeling of wanting to meet expectations, mostly because of negative things people have said. I'm so much happier when I just please myself- let them say what they want ('who do you think you are, the Queen of Sheba?' was literally said to me). I'm impressive, intimidating, intense, extravagant, sensuous, creative, expressive and Amethyst😈! I thought there was a dissonance between my desire to be armoured and protected, and my desire to dress boldly and expressively. Now I see that they come from the same place, and I understand myself better. Thank you Rita 💜

Yeah the insight that wanting to be armored can go hand in hand with bold and visually striking clothes is super powerful! Thank you for being here ❤️

This system is so awesome in how it breaks down the core of our motivation in dressing . Discovering I was left, ( still deciding between up and down) has already made styling so much easier ,but, and this is the key point, it's made it so much more satisfying🤗. Thank you Rita for all your hard work in creating this system. And am looking forward to the sapphire livestream

I've really been pingponging from quadrant to quadrant over the last four months, and I feel like this way of explaining the Amethyst essence really made me feel connected. So I just wanted to say that for me, this format was very helpful! Thank you Rita!!

I’m a left up and I think I’m very friendly but I tend to not be approached by people. I’ve noticed people seem surprised when I’m nice to them but I don’t think it’s because I look mean or intimidating I think I just look different and they aren’t sure what they’re gonna get, like I’ll act too cool to talk to them or something 😂.
I’m not a very practical dresser but I do wear as practical as I can clothes for work.

I can get behind this sentiment. That’s one of the reasons I stopped wearing black. It’s a bit like I’m afraid once people do speak to me I’ll be accused of not actually being as cool as I’m dressed.

I was so sure I am LD Ruby, but when I looked at your edgy/moody archetyp I resonated with many outfits from all quadrants (cuz edgy/moody is very much thing).
The visual examples seem to confuse me more than help cuz I realy have to seperate from it cuz its so drilled in sode my head to look for stuff that might fit my Kibbe DC typ.

@@StyleThoughtsbyRitathank you! I rewached a lot of your videos, some of the 3 or 4 tines and today it klicked that I am LU not LD. I will now rewach the archetyps to see what seems to fit right now.

I really appreciate this deep dive! It's incredibly helpful, and I think you do an excellent job especially of acknowledging and sharing how you have come to approach specific words based on how they impact people - how you are careful around words like "intense" for example - I think exploring these concepts deeply is really helpful to understand how we've grown "disconnected" from our inner influence and personal styles.
I would LOVE to learn more about your reclaiming of "intense" and I LOVE how you explain clothing as armor, speaking for you, etc. I really relate to that. I would also love an entire PLAYLIST about the different explorations of how love / romance intersects with essence! In a weird way this style essence understanding is how I came to embrace my queer identity - I realized part of what makes me "gay" has nothing to do with bodies (already knew that) and very little to do with gender identity or gender expression even.
My new "shortcut" internal explanation for myself about this is that I am queer because I am drawn to people regardless of gender, but I am "gay" because I am Left Up and I WANT Left up. Hahahahahaha
