The interesting thing about demons and devils is that they've become so commonplace that despite their menace, it can be hard to make them scary because they're a bit too familiar. That's why so many stories these days have other things be the greater threat, even when demons are present, or even have otherworldly things be mistaken for demons in Medieval times. It's always interesting when someone can breathe new life into classic monsters and make them scary again.
I feel like there's quite a bit of potential with demons in particular because in the actual Bible, they more resemble Eldrich, Lovecraftian threats than the imps and pitchfork devils we're used to.

I absolutely love this book. And reddit has nothing to with it. I found it on my own with no real knowledge of what was about to happen to me in those pages. Absolutely wonderful novel, and I recommend it every single chance I get.
