Just finished my first Louis L'Amour, The Quick And The Dead. Enjoyed it very much. Quick fun read. I picked up a couple more! Thanks to you and June on the range.

Just discovered through my public library (via the Libby app) the digital collections of L'Amour's short stories -- 7 volumes -- have now read volume one --35 stories -- all exceptionally good! Loved it so much that I want to read it again! Enjoyed very much your survey of your collection.

This makes me so happy, Suzanne! He was a great writer. Thanks for tuning in for my LL tribute!

My Grandfather-in-law loved reading Louis Lamour and I read a few when we visited, as he always had a stack beside his easy chair. The Thundering Herd, a friend cribbed that title for a piano piece. I always thought I would have a weekend place, a "ranch," to keep my western book collection, still have the books but not the ranch.

I always wanted to have a big ranch house in the middle of nowhere. I hear you!

I would recommend Dorothy M. Johnson's Western if you haven't read them, "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance," "A Man Called Horse" being a few.....L'Amour is always good, easy to read, never dull.....and I just started reading Richard Matheson's "The Memoirs Of Wild Bill Hickok."....short read, but worth reading....some of my June On The Range reading anyway.

Nice collection! Jubal is the most badass of all the Sacketts. The Kilkenny books are my favorites.
