My opinion of what you can’t explain is, like the BeeGees “brother harmony” Mitch, Scott & Kirstie have known each other since they were children so they know each other really really well

This one definitely shows of their abilities to add vocal dynamics....hauntingly beautiful! Just search for Christmas Under the Stars Pentatonix to see which songs have been uploaded on YT. Carol of the Bells and Frosty the Snowman are my favs from the performance 🥰

Intimate is a great word to describe the result of their blending. Certainly in a performance like this - all 5 vulnerable to an obvious misstep, yet they offer up.

I love this piece for 2 main reasons, 1 because of the purity and simplicity of the arrangement, you can hear them breathe at the same time and that's always been powerful to me and 2 bec6they harmonize so well, they sound like 1 person YET at the same time, you can single out each of their voices, pure magic and God given talent

My Heart With You is off their new Evergreen album, I saw them do this in concert last week like this, off mic pure A Capella and it was stunning ☀️ Christmas Under the Stars was an hour special they did on BYU TV (I think) and that’s where this video comes from, Scott says it’s not really a Christmas song per se but the band has loved it for the past 10 years. I’ve also heard this song was an inspiration for their original Run To You

PTX has songs similar to this on a lot of their albums, with just voices -- "Run to You" and "Light in the Hallway (originals), Elvis' "Can't Help Falling in Love", etc I sing a capella a lot. It's amazing that they can sing with closed eyes and still breathe and begin and end each phrase together. It shows how in synch they are. And part of what makes the unique sound for this and potentially any a capella singing is that without instruments you can sing perfect intervals, where the frequencies of the notes in each chord line up perfectly. That involves slight adjustment of the pitch depending whether you are singing the third, fifth or whatever of a chord.

When they performed this as an encore piece at their concert in Baltimore, the audience was so quiet, that you could have heard a pin drop. Listening to them perform this live was so moving.

I just saw them in concert and they did this, they even put their mics down ask the audience to be quiet and just sang. It was so beautiful with not a sound in the arena. Thanks for the reaction...

PTX being their brilliant best - and no beatboxing in earshot, which is truly amazing and really shows off the calibre of Kevin's singing.

So beautiful and haunting at the same time. Love the stripped down sound. Showcases all their voices and strengths. No way to hide any flaws here...not that they have any. They are the perfect mesh...their voices blend together seamlessly. I love PTX!! Please keep bringing us more! Thanks for your awesome reaction!
