      There is a bit of Laudrup in every Barca midfielder. He was one of the most influential midfielders ever and way ahead of his time. He also influenced Zidane and Davids. All the CDMs before Laudrup (although he also played CM and CAM) were either ball winners who stopped at the center line or registas who passed from the depth. But Laudrup was a moving anchor who could create multiple moving passing triangles which is an essential part of both Pep's and Busquets' playing styles.

    • @FIL1994

      Was Laudrup a CDM? I thought he was a pure CAM?

    • @brettervonkanada6102
      @brettervonkanada6102 Před rokem +4

      @@FIL1994 He started as CDM at Lazio. Then he played CM most of his career but was CDM in Barca before Guardiola made the 1st team. He also played CDM occationally with Juventus and RMA. He was basically a CM who could play all 3 central roles. Even when he played CAM, there was always someone between him and the striker. The point is that he involved all 3-4 midfielders in every aspect of the play which later became tradition in La Masia, that created a role that is now known as the deep lying playmaker (often played at CDM role).

      Pep was Cryuffs tactical leader on the field, that’s why Cryuff picked him from the Youth team and put him in the first team. Of course Laudrup was the attacking flair player but Guardila played the Catalan which is why the 4 midfielders I mentioned where all Catalan. They either had challenge to come out of Peps shadow (Xavi), they had the challenge of not being forced to play Peps position (Iniesta), they literally idealised Pep (Fabregas) or they emulated his playing style and position (Basquets)

      I feel like you didn’t watch a lot of full Barca games back then, pep was a ridiculously intelligent player, a great leader, immaculate ball player, I could go on and on. I’d really recommend going back and watching some archive games, not just for pep who was quality (and watching him run a midfield for 90 minutes tells a completely different story to his stats) but for that whole team, it was insane, which is probably why pep doesn’t get the plaudits he deserved along with the fact his managerial career has been so iconic which most likely overshadows his fantastic but not quite as memorable playing career.

      Pep es mas completo que Busquets, defensivamente parecidos, en pases cortos/largos y lectura del juego Guardiola era el mejor del Mundo. Ademas si ves el video lanzaba faltas de maravilla y eso teniendo en su equipo a Koeman, Hagi, Rivaldo, Laudrup, Romario, Figo y muchos otros en su etapa del Barça en la cual le quitaban muchas veces tener la posibilidad de lanzar faltas. Nunca vi a Busquets en esa faceta, ni casi meter goles de cabeza siendo mucho mas alto y podiendo ser poderoso arriba de cabeza.
      Pep era el cerebro total del juego del Dream Team, y Busquets era la tercera pieza del juego del Pep Team, primero Xavi e Iniesta y luego él.
