Stevie Nicks is the original queen. You may know about Taylor Swift writing songs about her exes but decades before that Stevie made her ex play guitar and sing backing vocals on songs about how much of an asshole he was. She's also the only female to ever be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, once for Fleetwood Mac and another time for her solo career.

This is the song of being on the edge of falling apart and holding on with every last drop of your will, hoping they will too. The Chain is the bond, the tie that binds, the connection that makes us us. For the band when they wrote the song they were in the midst of some shit and weren't on speaking terms with each other, but they were all trying their best to stick together. So you get this song that they all are a part of.
The verses state the problems, the choruses call everyone on their shit, and the change up to the outro is like a prayer contrasted with the recognition that that living on the downlow is still going to happen, hopefully less often.
(Chain, keep us together) Run in the shadow

I’ve loved them since I was a kid in the late 70’s. Their MTV Unplugged was great - find it! Worth your time. Also, Fleetwood Mac is the best concert I’ve ever been too.

Good Morning Leo, hope your Tuesday is off to a great start!😊 Can't go wrong with some good old Fleetwood Mac music any time of day or week! I love most of their songs, it's hard to choose just one or two favorites.❤️Great reaction as always! Can't wait to see what song you choose next! ✌️🎶

Leo, During the introduction guitar, I always imagined a dusty old west town with a couple of gunslinger's facing off...
As the song progresses they start pacing toward each other slowely, deliberate.
Always enjoy your reactions. Zany, madcap, and pure excitement when you discover a song you groove with. Keep up the good work.

That bass riff for the latter part of the song is one of my favorite parts. If I owned a bass guitar, that would be the number one bass riff that I would play endlessly, it's that good. Hope your arm is feeling better, dude.

This is in my top 5 of all time, all their passion and anger and creativity culminated in this perfect song, relationships falling apart while cementing the group and album and this song in particular in Rock history as one of the greatest of all time.

Over here in the U.K. the bass part was used on the BBC Formula 1 program, classic. As others have already said, the whole album is classic. If you want a real treat try searching out the live version of this song.

The sound board that this album was recorded through was bought by Dave Grohl, the drummer for Nirvana/singer for Foo Fighters. He now has it in his house and converted his garage into a studio. Here is a wiki link where you can see all the albums and artists that recorded on that board.

A bunch of their early stuff, in particular.

DO@@christymearna3912 Agreed. Peter's name rarely comes up, annoyingly. I like this version of FM but I ADORE Peter's. We can ask him I suppose? Man of the world, Albatross, Green Manalishi? I got to see Peter play in the 80's in a small club with his band called White Sky. I was thrilled beyond words. I would have been around 22 I guess. What an honour. RIP Peter. Always missed.
