I'm a huge fan of our football team as well of course but I cringe at the booing between our anthems in that. We're blessed to have the oldest rivalry in most sports, no need for us to make it anything else imo. Hearing it being sung by my brothers, sisters, mother's and father's as well as young and old all with the exact same love, passion and patriotism for their home country as I feel every time I sing it or hear it being sung. No matter where or when. Stadium, pub, street, or living room. You sing it because its an anthem written to be sung. Sung allowed for all to hear and know what you're all about as a nation. What you stand for. Who you are. What you're all about. I'll always be proud to sing my anthem and I'd like to ask anyone that would like to sing along just sing it with us ! It would become "meh, but when it's France vs England, then it means a lot.
