      That's very true; first, metal particles can be ingested with fatal results; second, coins usually have pathogens on them, since they are handled all the time.

    • @pirate__crewman
      @pirate__crewman Před 5 lety +2

      You must've been a horrible owner if you killed it at 19. Probably kept it in a small cake and only fed it seeds.

    • @poofypoofball3879
      @poofypoofball3879 Před 5 lety +7

      @@pirate__crewman Oy, no need to be rude. Unless you have solid evidence, you are nobody to judge how the person cared for their bird. Sometimes accidents and illness simply occurs. Maybe it is the owner's fault, but telling them off harshly isn't going to change things.

      Captain Davy Jones Excuse me?! I’m an exotic animal vet, and the fact the bird only lived to 19 doesn’t mean that they were a horrible owner! Birds are delicate, and can develop diseases that take their lives. Even the best owner can’t protect them. Also, I lost one at seven due to cancer. I would have done everything I could to save him, and if love could have saved him, it would. But they die sometimes! Of natural causes!

      if you haven't had a bird. a macaw is not for you. they're very loud and people give them up because of it. do research before you waste money, time, and the welfare of a bird

    Hi, How much greens , fruit and nuts should I give a blue and gold macaw ( like slices, 2 Brazil's etc.)?Getting one soon and getting this answer is so hard ( I asked 7 different owners and no answer).

    • @thesamchannel4503
      @thesamchannel4503 Před 5 lety

      Hi! I happen to own a blue and gold macaw myself. You should get some normal pellets called "Pretty Bird" and chop up fruit ever morning. Ushally oranges, apples, grapes, cantaloupe ect. Will make them happy. You can give them veggies but it won't be as much eaten as the fruit. Also as a treat you can give your macaw peanuts or seeds and as a very rare treat a small amount of a tortilla chips. You have no idea how much those birds love their salt. I hope this helped!

    • @AdventuresofRoku
      @AdventuresofRoku Před 7 lety +1

      parrots dont actually know genders thats a myth, if the parrot does not like "men" it's more that it does not like people with short hair thats black, with certain body build and skin tone etc.
      parrots dont know about our genders and the bits and pieces down there :p haha

      @@AdventuresofRoku Birds technically have an idea of genders. Not the word and that shit but if they did know "gender/sex" then they wouldn't know what to breed with. True that some birds don't like people but i have a male bird and I'm female. He gets all flirty around the female gender while with my father he is tricky and does like to be touched. And don't go saying "oh your bird is socialized correctly." He has been for his while life. I make it a priority to make him numb to people and hands. Birds do know "gender" it's just the matter of words they know that there are two genders because if they didn't know how would they know they weren't connecting with a male? Birds have a brain some people just don't relised it. If you haven't noticed yet they aren't slowly killing them selves off (discluding Quaker Parrots) Humans at the end of the day are much more dumb then we make ourselves out to be.

      Adventures of Roku They actually do they can tell by the frame and voice. Birds can be men hating or women hating if they were abused by that type of person. It can totally be fixed though.
      Also I didn’t even see your name til now, but I’m subbed to love ya. I’d love to see you free fly with bird tricks.

    is there a possibility of him swallowing the coin?

    • @trolololololololololololol7529
      @trolololololololololololol7529 Před 7 lety +1

      Probably

    • @infinitecanadian
      @infinitecanadian Před 5 lety +2

      Possibly, but there is more of a danger of him ingesting metal particles, which is even worse because they can't just be extracted as easily as a large object can. Metal coins are _not_ recommended.

    • @thesamchannel4503
      @thesamchannel4503 Před 5 lety

      The possibility is slim. Birds only eat what looks appealing with both color, smell and look. No bird will just go up and start eating something random like a coin. Birds will often just explore it and eventually drop it on the ground and never have an interest in it again.

    • @infinitecanadian
      @infinitecanadian Před 5 lety

      You had better be prepared if you do want to get one; these aren't birds that you can just leave in a cage for hours at a time; they _need_ to come out of their cages every day for most of the day. They need to chew on things and they need attention lavished on them almost as much as they need to breathe. If you cannot find a companion for them then _you_ have to be their companion, and since they live such a long time it is a lifetime commitment, or nearly so.

    • @aysun8392

      Alien Hunter It his good for parrots to learn tricks as they are very, very inteligent and have to use it in some way to keep healthy. Not training them could result into the parrot plucking his feathers out of boredom. I get your point when looking at people forcefully train their dogs and cats but you gotta understand parrots are different and actually enjoy learning tricks and it is good for them.
