    Finally grabbed the Supernova Rise after early reports suggest the SL2 is significantly narrow (problem for me). It was also on sale for like $100. Just one run in, but this is an absolute sleeper.

    Chris, I’m not blaming you for me just now ordering a pair of supernova rise but these videos are definitely to blame for persuading my decision. Couldn’t pass them up for $112. Also ordered SL2 for $91. Stoked to try both!

      Enjoy the SNR…. They are absolutely fantastic. Especially at that price.
      No SL2 yet in Taiwan and no clue when it will show up…. 🤷🏼‍♂️
      Also no sales here either….

    thx, saving for a supernova rise. deeped into an Adidas duramo sl for now (not bad) from a Nike streak-fly (miss that shoe, but needed a trainer), learned that training in a race day shoe hurt my endurance capacity generally! pegs 41 tempting (looks) but i want to try a comparative Adidas model before i may or may not get back to Nike after 8 years of nikes throughout!

      @SagasuRunning  Před 18 dny +3

      If you liked training in the Streakfly....you'll feel right at home in the Supernova Rise. It's as if Adidas took a Streakfly and made it a proper trainer...

    • @TimGrose
      @TimGrose Před 19 dny +6

      spoiler alert SL means super light so IMHO the SL2 is pretty much a different type of shoe - more of a "tempo" one than plush/supportive daily trainer more like these. if you don't like rather firm shoes avoid the original SL. The SL2 is somewhat softer.

      @@SagasuRunning I feel it would offer a rather different comparison video. Thinking about it you could argue the SL2 versus these is more like comparing a Peg Turbo to a regular Peg where perhaps only the Peg name is actually the same.

  • @rexl143

    Adidas Supernova Rise comes in wide version. I have slightly wide feet and regular ver. is still a bit tight even with size up

  • @dynamike9248

    As highly as you praise the Rise, how would you compare it to other do it all trainers? E.g. ES3/ES4, Mach/Rebel, etc. They are obviously designed to be speedier trainers, but having tried all of them, I found no problem doing easy miles in them. All of them have the issue of bottoming out in long runs (20k+ for me), but would image the same for the rise given the stack height and midsole material? I've only had a step in in the Rise and never run in it. It feels comfy for sure but the midsole felt a bit dull and certainly didn't impress me at all. The fit also come in too large I feel, not sure if its TTS for you?

    • @SagasuRunning
      @SagasuRunning  Před 19 dny +3

      I don’t think they compare. The ES4 is a fun shoe, but I’ll never use a plated shoe for the bulk of my easy running. The Mach 6 was fun until it Hoka’d me and my foot didn’t agree, but it wasn’t an easy day shoe, it was a workout shoe. I don’t think very highly on the Rebel v4….
      What sets the Rise apart is that it’s a shoe that encourages easy running. That’s what I need. I have workout shoes and race shoe. I have fast shoes. I don’t need another one for easy running.
      The foam in the Rise is unique. I’ve not run in such a foam before. I definitely haven’t bottomed out in it and have been surprised how consistent it is. The feeling the foam has unique as well… all the benefits of a PEBA without the issues for training… not disliked down by a full carrier foam layer (the support rods are a different solution).
      It’s a brilliant shoe with a brilliant ride that is very unique in the space.

    • @SagasuRunning
      @SagasuRunning  Před 18 dny +2

      On paper the Triunph 22 should be a max stack version of the rise… but based on the reviews it just seemed rather heavy and uninspiring. So much so that I didn’t even bother trying to find a pair. PWRRUN PB, with no plate, had the possibility to be a great idea… but it seems the execution was off and the older Triumphs were preferred.

  • @tav4755
    @tav4755 Před 18 dny +1

    i see i have to get the supernova now that i have the sl2. if what you say pans out, the rise and sl2 can coexist in a rotation where the sl2 takes the faster runs and the rise the slower recovery. both are inexpensive enough you can split daily duty. the boston 12 relegated for long runs. also the sl2 laces are comically awful. 😂 as bad as the takumi sen's. good time to be an adidas fan though

    • @SagasuRunning
      @SagasuRunning  Před 18 dny +2

      I believe that is how the SNR and SL2 are designed to work together. They have the same product manager and I have to think he guided both projects to work as such.
      Once I get a pair of SL2s I’ll be all over testing them!
      Also… Adizero laces are notoriously bad at this point… but once food thing about them is they are non stretch at least. Stretchy laces seem to be a thing this year on many shoes.
      Oddly the laces in the Supernova series are very good. 🤷🏼‍♂️

    Hi Chris, I might have missed it but how much is it in Taiwan? (*I'll be traveling next month to Taiwan) Planning to buy on Amazon or in Taiwan. It's a bit pricey here in the Philippines as of the moment. Thank you.

      @SagasuRunning  Před 13 dny +1

      You don’t miss it, I didn’t say it. I rarely talk about price. But here in Taiwan the SL2 is NT$3,490. Though the big Adidas stores, like the flagship location in Xinyi and the boutique in Zhongshan often have 10-20% store discounts going for some reason. You might get lucky and hit of of those too.
