Wow those are seriously huge, i had no idea they could be dug up and transplanted with no roots. Extremely heavy to move as well 👍

@@lyonheart84 cycads are truly resilient! Even if chopped, any part, can grow roots. Even if the piece has been laying in a dumpster for a month, no problem.
The only thing that kills them easily is root rot.

Hard work pays off. I got my first sago in a somewhat similar way, except it was just a big stem some one had chopped off a big clump I had no idea if it would live but I took it home and planted it and it rooted and blooms and makes seed every year. It is a female plant. Sago plants are either male or female.

      @@jamesh.maloyjr.6940 thanks for watching.
The big one, I exchanged it with a friend for another cycad, that one is a female. And from the 2 I kept, the bigger one is a female also. The 3rd and smallest I don't know yet.
Next year when my new girl flowers I'm gonna try and pollinate her with Cycas rumphi, hope they hybridize.

@@jamesh.maloyjr.6940 I don't have much, but I'll do a video with all my 8 cycads a bit later. I featured faaaaar more cycads in my "Xanthorrhoea, cycads and friends" video, where I filmed a friend's garden. He has a proper collection that needs another visit with proper presentation... I couldn't name even half of them.
