By the looks of that nut, these guys worked on this thing pretty recently, and watching the repair, they will be working on it again in no time
You better believe that. I so admire their dedication and hard work, but these repairs can't last more than a few hours, if that. Where are their dissassembly and assembly manuals. Parts book?? There is no telling how many seals and O-rings are left off in the re-assembly!! I feel sorry for these guys, but the old saying, "Igorance is bliss", still stands today!!
😂😂😂
@@scotabot7826I thank God for his blessings on our nation daily. We are truly blessed in so many ways. When you have him on your side things tend to be better. 😉
@@scotabot7826 When it's done by an Indian it lasts 2 hours, when it's a white guy with a neck beard it will work for a lifetime.
they are not afraid of anything... , they are making difficult repairs of complicated machinery, and yet nobody there had an idea to make simple workshop lifting tools, transport chariots or proper workbench. Why? Do they really prefer backbreaking efforts of lifting heavy components bare hands and rolling gears in dust?
This was one of the best repairs I have seen. All movements were correct and precisely executed. Surely the customer will be satisfied with the result and with the warranty of the workshop.
I imagine that you are a painter or singer in a group, that's why you have no idea, this is one of the worst works of this that I have seen, more than anything because of the machining, there it is, without measuring, behind them they have the compasses to outdoors but they don't know how to use them
@@fernandofernandez4810 My dear, Michelangelo when he made his masterpieces did not measure with Mitutoyo.
Watching him trying to weld that piece back on was painful to say the least
That ranked right up there with the machinist that used the trial and error fit test. LOL
Literally the first time I've seen someone using an actual ratchet wrench in these vids, amazing repair
they do a really good job, its pretty freakin hard to do repairs when you have a limited acces to tools and workshops......
the repairs they do might not be approved or allowed here in the west, but it works for them..... they repair the parts, not just changing them....
well done.
Thanks for taking the time to make the video and share it.
Yes, you have to admire them, but these repairs don't last for very long, if at all. There is no way they could!!
Well, works for a few hours anyway…
Gotta love the “it’s close enough”attitude and ends up actually working.
Yea it works alright, maybe for a hour if they're lucky. Facts!!!
@@scotabot7826 You've never done steer clutches in minus 30 degrees on a dozer in the field where things finally went kaput. Not everything is done at the dealer in a semi clean shop with all the right tools, you get shit done when it needs to be done, however, wherever and whenever. I'm positive these boys would work circles around most so called field techs and without a manual or factory support 800 number.
You gotta wear flip flops! Know wonder here in America it takes the repair shop so long too fix a broken track! Longing around is those heavy old leather work boots 🤣
I guess they don't realize that beating on those bearing races doesn't do them any favors...
No, they don’t know. They have no idea that a lot of what they do is wrong.
I think their secret to success is adding just the right amount of dirt to all the internal parts for proper break in.

That's called "Job Security".

From the look of the marks on the nut this machine has been apart many times before!!!🇨🇦
Not surprising seeing how it gets 'fixed'.
That bent pipe used for a pry bar, wrench handle extender and heavy parts lifting assist is the key to this operation. These guys are unreal.
That was clever using mud to protect the threads while welding.
When the guy welded that shaft , did anyone else notice the large worm tracks ? I wouldn't want these guys to work on a bicycle
A roll around in the dirt before you reassemble, that way that removes all the back lash in the gears
The CAT Field Service Dept has signed off on these repair procedures & are now using these videos, in the U.S, as training instruction tools!
Even if that comment was made sarcastically about traini,g films,,these videos do show how the machinery is designed and how it disassembles.etc.
Check again, Minus Performance. The last I looked, they were using these videos as training tools in the Ukraine..... and with the same results....
LOL, this is a faaar better standard than what Muppets in the US can do.
@@swarfify It is amazing to see the ingenuity that these men have! Performing these complicated repair procedures! But, its very likely these imprecise procedures will only lead to another premature failure. But, I get it, its all they have to work with. Cheers, MinusP.
😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆yea buddy! They can work on my Rolls Royce aircraft engine next!
At 14:00 just absolutely terrible work done. Terrible welds and fitment. That entire piece needs much more attention to detail and craftsmanship. And the weld simply came off the 1st time he hit it with a hammer, so he had to reweld it..
Hi free thinkers, maybe weld slag dislodging, not actual weld? Sign good weld how the slag falls away after stick welding.
Has anybody noticed they have the best work shoes around? No man in the US has ever owned
e' incredibile, il lavoro di queste persone, senza compressore, senza parango, senza dovute protezione, come scarpe, guanti, tutto a mano, veramente bravi
Like those safety boots
This workshop repairs heavy machinery and has no lifting equipment. Everything is done by hand, just like a thousand years ago.
Better than new!
Hardly precision engineering. Hammers appear the most go-to tool!
This is no different to how it was for me working on plant machinery in Ireland thirty years ago, apart from the fact that it's not pissing rain 😂

That's a lot of back breaking work. I saw a chipped tooth on a smaller gear, hope it holds up. Good video.
Trained Caterpillar technicians.😂😂😂😂
Time n time again these guys come thru with a result....just amazing.its these people who we need when we go to Mars . They'll fix anything with the bare minimum of tools n materials..Well Done All..
You are right there , nothing looks to have been torqued up they are ramming the o rings in with a sharp screwdriver and as for the weld repair it won’t last five minutes, not properly gouged out and welded at the two holes it will just start cracking there again ,and how nobody is hurt I don’t know
Rough as guts is good enough there...🧐🧐
Don't crop the video unnecessarily, show the mistakes and also show the final result. The machine running. What is obvious to those who make it is interesting to those who watch. It's no use making youtube from tiktok. Shrinking the videos depends on the type of content. Thank you show is magnificent.
Thousand pound rollers and Italian shoes don’t mix so well. They should paint little icons on each dozer of the fingers and toes lost.
Awesome job with the tool you have to work with outstanding work!💯
Damn !! Color me surprised !!! Someone actually brought a DeWalt impact driver to the job 🤯
First time I've ever seen one in any of these videos.
They need some steel toe sandals.
Rough as guts. If there was sealant used it was not shown, right at the end it looked like the new seal was damaged, chipped pinion tooth at 30:55. There is only one way to assemble those heavy parts and that's to lift to the right height then slide them in STRAIGHT. No jiggling around getting it on then trying to lift into place, that's how damage is done. If they can't afford a forklift then make something up to lift and hold.
Love watching these guys 😊

Some poor Caterpillar tech is screaming at the screen in disbelief. I think it would hold until first hard push and break again. Now imagine if they had access to the right tools and parts!
did any one notice the guy running the lathe doesn't know how to read a mike and is guess fitting that bearing , he never checked run out . The bearing surface was wavy full of worm tracks . That shaft was ruined .
Unbelievable in this day 😂 and age no small hoisting apparatus?
Don’t worry about the seals too.
Good to see safety first. These guys could be farmers!
Most of the safety concerns are off the charts with these guys. But the ragg on the the cutting tool changer is the one that STICKS OUT for me!
I like the guys that had complete faith in the hydraulic hoses in that Cat when they when under the blade. No way I'd go under there.
It was the Sandals that got me...

Non better way to ruin a bolt than by bashing it on the thread end 🙄
That man welding up the bearing surface if he would skip one quarter turn each weld bead it would help on warping

keep safety for the working procedure!
Kudos to the guy with a 3/4" drive ratchet.
For comparison go to cutting edge engineering videos to see how they do the same kind of jobs in Australia. Quite different and much less cringey.
It is relatively easy to build atomic bombs.
@@trouserfish9178 Define "relatively easy". It costs a cool billion dollars to separate enough Plutonium. The machinery needed is rather complex and dangerous. Developing an efficient implosion mechanism is no walk in the park either. The USA had to set off about 33,000 experimental dynamite explosions before they got the design close enough. Most people would not call 33,000 tries "relatively easy". Even with the dribbles of information that Pakistan had, they probably had to try a few thousand times first.
@@georgegonzalez2476 The trick in manufacturing Pakistani atomic bombs is, teaching new slaves faster as they will be killed in the process for separating plutonium.
This shit compared to Curtis is quite literally night and day.
They are artist and master together !
With no fancy tools doing this kind job it's a miracle !
Well done all of you 💪💪🌺
akmid fix lol
these guys have atomic bombs!!! Kurtis of CEE would be doing multiple face plams.
You guys a some of the hardest working mechanics I’ve ever seen! I love how you even made your own tools for the job, outstanding sir! Necessity is the mother of invention for sure, but you should really wear boots for that job! 🙏💪💪🤘🤘👍
i dont give a monkeys about the boots shout, doesnt matter whats on your feet, if anything they took off from that machine fell on your foot its gone, boots wont make a difference, so next time keep everything positive without the snid remark.
Nothing wrong with the CAT, what not can be fixed with a handfull dirt extra.
Lol! That's probably the one most negative thing to me about these "sandals & 19th century methods" repair videos; for all their skills, dirt always appears to be too close at hand to their work.
@@shadovanish7435 In first moment you'll be thinking these workers are dumb asses because they don't take care of their environment, but never forget, these guys are extremly poor and also have to feed their 10 children every day.
Most of them are so hungry, after some minutes they can't hold their newest smartphone no longer, it falls off their hands and breaks on the floor.
So sad.
@@horstmuller7512 Sorry. I did not mean to appear unaware of their situation. I imagine they are poor, & do the best they can with their available resources.
Where did that guy get an actual ratchet.
with a lot of these asain videos there is a lot of hammer work.
All I want to know is, how long do these guys go before they take a shower?? I'm serious too. 2 months, 6 months, once a year? I got to know!
And they complete the task with those cheap Chinese Princess auto (in Canada) 3/4" drive ratchets that always bend or break on anyone else!
We guaranteee the work for 3 months
16:22 - Cool gear for hand watch =)
Is that JB Weld they are smearing on that damaged shaft ??
Hitting the bearing with a hammer )))
Awesome Caterpellar service station! 🤣
They have no clue they ruined the heat treatment on that shaft after building it up with soft material this repair won't last .
