Exactly, it's almost like she is afraid to speak her own opinion when reviewing songs, but in this song you could tell she was entranced, yet when he talked about it being old school she agreed like it was a bad thing with the mentioning clothes instead of expressing that this is how every woman wants to be loved which her face expressed.

Lionel Richie wrote this song especially for Rogers and also produced the track. When Motown Records' publishing company, Jobete Music, told Rogers that Lionel Richie wanted to write a song for him, he immediately flew to Las Vegas to meet him. Richie played a demo to Rogers, who loved the song and within a fortnight had recorded it. I love your channel could you please react to either Tribute by Tenacious D or Suicide Blonde by Inxs

According to Kenny & Lionel; Kenny was playing the Vegas Rivera, when he called Lionel for a song. Lionel said he didn’t have time, because the Commodores were going on tour. Then the drummer fell off his motorcycle, affecting the tour. Lionel called Kenny back & they met the next day, at the Rivera. Lionel had part of a song (just 1 word, “Lady” & some melody, which had been rejected by the Commodores). Lionel played it on “a little rinky dink, upright piano” in Kenny’s dressing room. 6 months later, they went into the studio. Kenny recorded the 1st verse, asked where the 2nd verse was, & found out Lionel was in the toilet, writing the rest of the song. In a later interview, Lionel adds to the story, making it even funnier. He said, the 1 word he had was actually “Baby”, but when they met, Kenny kept going on & on about his wife, repeatedly calling her “a Lady”, so when Kenny asked the name of the song, Lionel blurted out “Lady.”

Its funny how Kenny Rogers is kind of forgotten to a degree now. He was HUGE in the 80s. A country hit maker that probably had quite a bit to do with crossover country and the way country is now. He was big with the ladies back then especially. I guess he probably looks like someones grandpa here lol but he had a certain charm and voice that the ladies liked. Different times for sure.
He had been around a long time, probably 15-20 yrs before he blew up though. He was with a band called the "First Edition". Had a hit with a cool song called "Just Dropped In To See What Condition My Condition Is In". Now thats a cool song.
Not one of my favorite solo artists, a bit too sappy for me, but definitely a big name back then.

This is actually my favorite song of his, so you can stop now. j/k He's an icon really. The thing I thought was pretty cool, he was one of the guys who was touring up until the end almost. I checked to see how much his tickets were even though I couldn't go and they were really cheap even though he could have commanded a lot more. There aren't they many people who do that. I know John Mellencamp was also pretty cheap and I think Pearl Jam might have kept it as cheap as they could. To me that means they care about their fans and deserve their icon status.
As far as Lionel Richie goes, both of them were the type all your aunties and grandmas liked back in the day. They were both huge in the 80s. I'm sure I've seen a clip of them singing this song together. Speaking of grandmas, the Bee Gees wrote a song that Kenny sang with Dolly Parton that was a massive hit too. He started out in a group called the First Addition, then went solo in country. The Gamler was a hit even starred in the movie. Coward of the county was another, Lucille also.

Hey beautiful! We must be on the same wave length! My plan was bringing in Amy right after Delores. 😉 Great minds! That particular video has now been restricted from time to time. Just giving you heads up in case they have to blur it out. Darn You Tube! 🤷🏼‍♀️ Video is 🔥 FIRE!

@@jennhurl hi beautiful too you ! One thing I noticed and wrote to Rico is that if Crys is not in the seat, because of the screen being transparent, well you can't see any of it. But if she's in the chair with solid black I don't know why but then the viewer can see enough to enjoy along even if blurred. But that's up to Crys because I know she likes her colorful graphic Tees. I totally understand about the blocking because of a billion views.

@@EVERLYNFRIENDS #WaysToBeatTheSystem 🤣 **Suddenly, Crys only owns black T's.I freaking love it!! I did notice that I could still see some videos but didn't know why! Good catch, Robin! I've been avoiding Beatles because they've been on a blocking rampage & it really effects Rico's numbers. "Hey Jude" is their best bet. Let's give them both a shot - VERY important songs for their own personal music journey.

This is from 1980. Those were great times for sure. I really miss those days. Kenny Rogers also was in a group called First Edition and they did a song that sounds nothing like what he sounded like there. The song that I'm referring to is from 1968 and called Just Dropped In To See What Condition My Condition Was In.

    • @pcallas66

My mistake. I looked it up and it's not from 1968 but 1967 (Referring to the Just Dropped In To See What Condition My Condition Was In). There's a live performance version from 1972 also and he's playing bass on that one as well.
