  • By the time of making this video, it was only $8.99 CAD at the Canadian Tire stores !!!
    Maker: Goliath Sports (China)
    Original design/inspiration: Unknown
I got this boomerang at a Canadian Tire store here in Ontario, Canada, I confess that I didn't put too much faith on it but it is surprisingly accurate, tunable and heavy enough to handle some wind. I actually dare to say that I prefer this triangular version instead of the Aerobie Orbiter as this last one it's too light. This one has an internal frame, tunable (but don't force it too much, not necessary) and a rubberized body that makes it VERY friendly to catch and pretty much indestructible. I saw on Amazon that the brand Wahu ($13.69) makes the same model but haven't tested it yet.
It needs some tuning with positive dihedral on all tips, just lightly as the tips are designed including a flap-like extension that gives some extra lift without tuning. When the wind reaches around 8-10 km/h, the tuning is not necessary.
Range: Surprisingly reaches around 30m, maybe more. On a practice after the recording of this video I used a little more power and less angle of attack. Definitely got more range but it wasn't measured. Will do a following up video testing that.
Angle of attack: for some hovering, use from 20-30 degrees
Angle to the wind: between 30-45 degrees depending on the wind speed
Layover: as vertical as possible unless you are using low throw power. Then adjust accordingly.
You can find it at pretty much any Canadian Tire store in Canada and online at: www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/ae...

It's a nice one. Easy to throw and pretty much undestructible. Plus, for this price, a steal!!

Nice vid, it is like an Aerobie Orbiter 😀

Hey Romain, thanks for your comment. Yes, they act similar but as this one is heavier, it can handle more aggressive winds. The orbiter is fine and it has an initial lower flight, but the same climb and hovering at the end. As it is lighter, it's better for kids. This one needs a little more skill and strength, I would say it's perfect for 12+ years old. An Adult will get bored faster with the orbiter than this one in my opinion. Also, this one is half the price :)

@@boomerangstoronto Hi, thank you for your anwer 😀 Well it is interesting, as I found that sometimes it is fun to throw the Orbiter, I should get this Triblade. In addition to the wind resistance, do you notice a distance difference ? Nice vids anyway, I much appreciate your work 😃

@@letraderencarton Hi!. Exactly, you nailed it. For easier or no winds, the orbiter is better as, being lighter, you can get more range throwing it more vertical and still coming back close to you.
About the range, yes, weight makes the difference. I will try to make a second video showing this Goliath one being thrown more vertical and with more power. I get more range with a teardrop path and a little hovering "S" at the end. For the price, you can't go wrong. The brand Wahu makes it too (same model), available on Amazon.
Thank you for the compliment, my goal is trying to document as much as possible as it is hard to find online. Cheers!

Hi, I guess what you meant is that it doesn't work, which I proved on this video that it does. I believe you need to learn some basics not just for throwing but also for tuning it. I recommend watching the original aerobie orbiter video from the inventor itself. The handling is pretty much the same. I already taught several kids around your age how to throw it so I certify it works. Just keep practicing. Good luck!.
