    It's always soothing to hear Nadeem Baig !! He's so polite. And his craft. He's so honest about it. Also, he's thoughtful. One thing I love about him that as a director, he doesn't give too much direction to his actors..he believes in the natural act and react. May he rise and shine forever, Ameen.

    Rabia I totally agreed with Nadeem Baig regarding accents. He is right regarding why Yumna should not have a heavy accent, she is not straight from a village, Pashtun students who go to college and universities and speak urdu they speak it like normal and they dont have an accent . Even I thought the accent was too much actually considering she has a Masters, Whenever any drama shows pashtuns with bad urdu accents that is wrong actually sorry to say that is a stereotype unless someone is uneducated or straight from a village. That is why I hated Maina in Suno chanda 2, a suposedly college girl could not speak urdu correctly and had the worst accent. It was a very bad portrayal.

      I dont agree...thats not necessarily true...we hv pushtoon friends who r PhDs living in the uk fr more than 10 yrs n still have an accent when they speak urdu because they primarily speak pushtu at home n they speak urdu with non pushtu friends only

    • @mannukhan3019
      @mannukhan3019 Před 2 lety +1

      @@intentional.living87 then what about u? People from sindh punjab have also the their punjabi sindhi accents while speaking urdu, also their Urdu is not clear, yet their punjabi sindhi accents they criticize pushtoon from pushtoon accent and wrong urdu. Why they show hatred towards only pushtoon and not clearing their own accents and urdu. I have seen it a lot in tv.

    • @intentional.living87
      @intentional.living87 Před 2 lety +2

      @@mannukhan3019 where is the hatred?:O other ethnic characters are rightfully shown with accents as well. Syeda sidra batool has a Punjabi accent although the girl playing the character is a pushtoon herself. No one deemed that as hatred towards punjabis because it is not..Point is some ppl have accents, some don't...and level of education is an irrelevant factor in a person having or not having an accent.

    Thank You Rabia for asking him about auditions. U have been asking these questions from alot of directors that come for the interview and none of them has a logical answer. It is mostly because the casting is based on insta/tiktok followers or rather i would say how much commercial value is the celebrity bringing to the project. There are alot of trained actors in Karachi waiting for an opportunity but they wont get one because they dont have insta/tiktok following and the other reason is the casting requires u to look in a certain way and anybody who is different wouldn't get a role.

    I know that Nadeem Baig said that the story is different because in this all male characters are encouraging their daughters. But in doing so they stereotyped all older female characters ( mothers, grandmothers) who either want to get their daughters married or teaching them household chores. It sort of reiterated how patriarchal our society is.
    If they had shown even one story arc where it was the mother’s dream to have her daughter in army that would have been great!

      I also find her question "unse aapne kya seekha" she often asks actors, sometimes even seniors or new about other actors including younger or whoever, comes across as disrespectful. Koi kisi se kuch seekhe, yeh unka zyadti decision hai. Aap thop nahi sakte. You can ask what did you observe or notice about them. Or something that stayed with you...some such phrasing...always very odd to hear unse kya seekha. Arey bhai...

    The clarification Nadeem Baig Baig gave for Lahore was exactly the reason I thought too as a third person (non-Pakistani)
    This debate about cities and accents highlighted the touchiness of people who are used to all the access but when the focus is given to other regions/languages issues start (point that Nadeem Baig subtly pointed at too).

    Rabia you are doing a good work. The advice I want to give you is tht please let the guest portrait their views. And please don't talk in the middles of your guests sentences. Your guest is the centre of your episode let them talk in peace. It seems to arrogant when you talk louder or cut them during their sentences. You are not sitting in your drawing room alone. You are airing it online. It comese under respect of your guest if u let them complete their sentences and what they want to say.
