I really appreciate all these videos! I just started working on my setup. I have an Alienware Alpha that wasn't doing anything so I added Batocera on it and been following your videos 😁

    Hi Batocera Nation
I love the Batocera. This is incredible. I just want some more features
    1: Parallel port controller support
2: Set the time for specific games and showing that time on screen.
Hope you understand the concept of mine.

Hi Nabeel! I'm not one of the developers. I'm just a fan of Batocera. You should make your suggestions on the official Batocera.org forums or on their Discord server. Enjoy Batocera!

My textures say they are loaded when the yellow text appears in the top left, however the textures have not changed. What could I be doing wrong? My paths are correct and Dolphin is definitely finding the textures based on the message, but they aren't working?

Great tutorial as always! One question though. Is it possible to install more than one instance of the same emulator on Batocera? There's a specially modified version of dolphin made to emulate RE2 and RE3 for the gamecube in seamless HD with HD texture packs. Basically I just want to configure batocera to use that version of dolphin + the texture packs whenever I want to play RE2 and 3, and use the "normal" version for all the other games.
Thanks and keep up the great work! :D

    • @BatoceraNation
      @BatoceraNation  Před 2 lety +2

Unfortunately no. But you might be able to install that modified version of Dolphin in the Windows version of Batocera and play it from there.
Since I have not heard of this modified version of Dolphin to play RE2 and RE3, can you send me a link of this at batoceranation@gmail.com? I would like to try this out. Thanks!

Hi, i fixed the dolphin stuttering by disabling=skip presenting duplicate frames from the application itself
But everytime i launch the games from batocera it keeps defaulting,
Is there a specific folder or config where i can change the value to disabled by by default???

Do Soul Calibur 2 and Super Smash Bros need Textur Packs and Resource Packs? I downloaded what I guess are Texture Packs because when I copied them into where you said to copy them and turn on HD Texture Packs it says Custom Textures loaded but I see no difference between when it the HD Texture Packs option is set to on compared to when it's set to off.
The Games look great either way and much better than when running on a Wii with it's 408p resolution going thru one of those HDMI Adapter that just take the Analog Signal and convert it to Digital, better than Composite video, S-Video or even component video but still limited due to it still being a Analog Output from the Wii. Now maybe a HDMI Modded Wii might look much better but I can't afford the cost to get my Wii modded. Still recovering from the DCHDMI Mod and huge car repair bill. Plus I don't know who I can send my Wii out for a HDMI Mod that is honest and won't take my money and never return my Wii to me.

Some texture packs look much better than others and really stand out. Others not so much. So if they don't stand out then you really don’t need them.

I finally got Soul Calibur 2, Super Smash Brothers Melee and Tony Hawk HD Textures working, I turns out I had put the Game ISOs in the Texture folder instead of the Texture Maps. The fonts in Soul Calibur 2 are more noticeable than the game graphics but the game graphics still look better, definitely PS3 and higher quality, seem to have better color as well as higher rez graphics, similar with Super Smash Brothers where the fonts are more noticeable than the graphics. Tony Hawk is a vast improvement with the HD Textures, the Logo on the dudes jackets and shirts and their faces and bodies look much better on par with PS3 and above. Not much interest in playing Tony Hawk, not into Skate Board games and it's too damn hard to control, you can't stop moving if you don't get off the skateboard or keep pushing back on the D-Pad but it looks cool so I kind of just load it to be amazed at how the HD Textures vastly improve the look of the game.
Resident Evil is even more amazing looking, like night and day.
Haven't gotten Star Wars HD Textures activated yet.

I got the Star Wars 2 Rouge Squadron HD Textures working but why system can barely handle it at 720p and it's too hard, I could not even get past the first mission, I got to the trench scene and got killed by 2 Darthvader ships behind me I think or ran into a wall that I saw no way to avoid and did not see the exhaust port like in the movie and it did not tell me to shoot any kind of exhaust port or other target. Star Wars 3 Rouge Squadron Rebel Strike would only run at 640x480 defeating the whole point of using HD Textures, it runs real slow even at 720p with choppy audio, takes forever to get past the intro (That Can't be aborted) with all the Star Wars Characters dancing to that Disco music.
I tried to get Batman Rise of Sin Tzu to run with HD Textures but after about a minute of loading the game I got a "unable to load textures, not enough RAM" whatever that means, I have 8 GBs RAM, the Gamecube has 24 MB of 1T-SRAM as system RAM 3 MB of embedded 1T-SRAM as video RAM 16 MB of DRAM as I/O buffer RAM, far less than 8GBs. It looks amazing even without the HD Textures and runs at 1080p with slowdowns only when a lot of action is happening in the game and it's a cool beat em up type game with a story line. With Sonic Adventure 2 Battle it had 2 file downloads and I did not know which one to use so I used the larger one but noticed no difference in the graphics when I had Highres Textures enabled but still looks amazing without Highres Textures enabled at 1080p. It's not a issue of the 2 file downloads being in 2 parts and needed merging because when I unzipped the second file it prompted me to confirm over writing already existing files.

Bummer, No New Super Mario Bros Texture Packs.
I have not tried installing any texture packs yet but my system can only handle 720p or lower on most of my games, like New Super Mario Bros and Newer Super Mario Bros and Mario Cart, except for Dream Pinball 3 D which can handle 1080p. Still 720p is better than 480p.
