- The National Corvette Museum showcases the Chevrolet Corvette, an American sports car that has been in production since 1953. It is located in Bowling Green, Kentucky, off Interstate 65's Exit 28. It was constructed in 1994, and opened to the public in September of that year.
The museum is located only a quarter mile from the Bowling Green Assembly Plant, where Corvettes have been made since 1981. Patrons can, through their local Chevrolet dealership, add package option R8C which can give them a VIP tour of the Corvette Museum and assembly plant and patrons can have the option to build their own engine for their Corvette (this option adds $995 (as of 2020) to the car).

When I started GM Oshawa, ON. Plant #1 back in 1976, I worked every overtime shift for two years, saved up, and ordered and bought (cash) a 1978 Silver Anniversary Corvette L-82, 4spd manual and 'no' air to get extra horsepower.
That is awesome! That is nearly identical to my Grandfather's car, he also insisted on the 4 speed. Although, he opted for the Air Conditioning.
Thanks...good job! I've been there a few times, one was just after the cave-in. Very interesting how they got the Corvettes out of that massive hole.
It's definitely my favorite car museum. My grandfather had a beautiful Silver Anniversary C3 back when I was a kid and I've been a Corvette guy ever since.
Later on, I wish I had ordered the air when I drove it to California!
The transmission is a manual trans!
