  • In 2023 they got second place in Melodifestivalen in Sweden with "Air", and now they are back for another round of the Swedish national final - this time as the favourites to win!
We met up with them at the first stop of their Nordic tour in Copenhagen and had a chat about being favourites in Melfest, how they were amazed by the experience last year and what they feel about the possibility of representing Sweden in Eurovision... in Sweden.

"Other way Eurovison wont make sense anymore"
Are you new to Eurovision? You're not aware that people from different countries has competed for other countries than their homeland before. That's been happening since the 1950s.
Never heard of Canadian Celine Dion winning for Switzerland, for instance? Or Canadian La Zarra competing for France last year, if you want a more recent example. There are probably 100 examples or more of artists competing for another country than they were born.
I know that Swedes has competed for Estonia (Victor Crone and Sahlene), Greece (Helena Paparitzou, her parents are Greek, but she is born and raised in Sweden, so she is Swedish-Greek), Germany (Siw Malmkvist), and of course there are tons of Swedish songwriters that has written songs for other countries. Frida in ABBA was born in Norway, her mom is Norwegian and her father German and no one was like "You can't compete for Sweden". Elisabet Andreassen is Swedish-Norwegian and has competed for both countries. San Marino is so tiny that they almost always send someone who isn't from there (except Valentina Monetta).

One time in Melodifestivalen was okay, twice seems desperate. They should have joined MGP instead cause they are Norwegians. Its kind of cringe. Whats up with their obsession with Sweden 😂 Is their goal to be popular in Sweden or worldwide? Its not like they have had more intermational success after they moved from a Norwegian record label to a Swedish. They even live in Norway..
It would be fiun if they represented Sweden and Norway won Eurovision in Sweden this year.

You know that people doesnt take part in mello only to represent Sweden in Eurovision. Its one of the biggest music competition in Europe and people from around the world come to compete. Btw the twins already said that they get the invitation from Mello before MGP. And Mello is way bigger so its obvious they prefer it.
