46. Kennet & Avon, ome to Newbury. Dutch Barge restoration and conversion.

This series of videos is all about the restoration and fit out of the 1904 Dutch Barge "Neeltje" and hopefully the journeys we get to make with her. This episode is part of a series following our second Shakedown trip in spring 2022 called "Almost Coast to Coast". Having been rudely halted by a broken bridge in Bristol we are forced to turn around. Back 'ome' to Newbury in 13 minutes.

Looks like the pin on that lock could swing down and hold against the iron foot treads acting like a chock to keep the lock open ?

Yes I thought that but it was too far over and didn't fit against the foot treads. I think we are on the right track but just couldn't make it work.
