I think it is often like this today: you save money to buy something special and indulge yourself or get something for life and than you get disappointed. High prices are not a guarantee anymore that you get high quality and a really good experience. That is really sad I think.

Thanks for sharing the unboxing!!! Really insightful video~ For a bag that costs $1300 I would expect the packaging to be more thoughtful. I think its okay for the carton box to be scruffed/scratched as people in the delivery chain might not care, but I think the brand could have made the conscious effort to ensure that the contents in the carton box is well protected and new. The YSL box seems like it had been used and not in the best condition

I’ve had hair care products packed with more love and care. I’m glad the bag was not damaged. It’s very pretty. These days I don’t buy new leather anymore, and have been researching some great vegan alternatives. Just discovered your channel and love your videos!
I have the same bag and I used it a lot for work (as you can fit your laptop inside and a bunch of other things as well). unfortunately after almost three years (which is nothing for a luxury brand) the leather started sort of to peel. I had to repair the holders and basically what I was told by a person who repaired it and who has been working with leather all his life that the leather of this bag is covered by a coat of plastic and this plastic starts to separate from the leather. what a disappointment. I clearly did not expect this from a YSL bag, I thought it would last forever (it has a perfect shape, minimum details, no huge logos so it was supposed to be classic) and I truly considered it as an investment piece.
Oh dear, I can feel how disappointing it was 🙈 I have two similar experiences (dior and ysl) and also filmed (among my videos if you or someone reading are curious to watch)… My usl bag had a terrible smell though 💔 Oh and this bag which you got is beautiful! It is very similar - almost exactly the same - as my Coach everyday tote which I adore as well due to it’s timeless design and quality.
Been thinking about this YSL tote vs. the Polene Cyme tote (probably not comparable by most people's standards :) but still , those are the two I'm deliberating between. I've heard the YSL tote scratches very easily inside , is this true?
They are the same in terms of quality, even if the price point differs 😊👌 I love these two bags too! The YSL has no finish inside, it’s raw leather, which I guess can scratch, but wouldn’t be too visible on that leather in my opinion (I haven’t had this problem).. The Cyme is in beige suede inside, so I’d assume it keeps stains more easily than the YSL… the YSL also being black inside, which helps! In both cases, if you’d like to protect the inside of the bag, you can buy organizers :) they are a good way to keep the inside in perfect condition ☺️ The Cyme will need a liner if you want to use it as a work bag, because it is not flat and you couldn’t have your laptop sit well in it 😊 I hope this helps!
