Guys just ride the rides. You only live once. I’m rlly afraid of rollercoasters but I’m going on Smilernsoon and I’m dead excited. If you get scared in the queue just think to yourself ‘you’re gonna get through this’ bc u are. The biggest thing you will regret is not going on rides. Step outside your comfort zone sometimes. If this is hard just pretend everyday is your last day on earth. That way you will know you should do everything you can. Hope this helps 🩷

Yeah, I finally decided to give big rides a go and went to Thorpe Park with some mates (was free because of a friend who works at a Merlin park)! Tried all the roller-coasters with lots of encouragement from friends and found I really loved them! Slowly working thriugh different theme parks and I've loved them all so far!

a way to get rid of the stomach drop feeling that REALLY helps is to hold your breath, push your feet up against the front seat as hard as you can, and close your eyes if you want. i tried this on a big drop and i had no stomach drop feeling
I heard the feeling kinda goes away after the first big stomach drop sensation. I don’t know where you went but I went to six flags great adventure and when I did nitro early in the day the sensation was so over the top, but later in the day when I rode el toro I didn’t really feel it going down the first drop

Basically if it’s a drop tower kinda ride let yourself be lifted a little from your seat. The more tense you are, the more you feel it. That’s why screaming can also help w the feeling. It helps you release tension

THIS IS IMPORTANT!!!!! I FOUND HOW TO STOP THE STOMACH DROP FEELING. Breathe, just breathe. Sounds weird but I tried it on a 300ft coaster. Rose once without breathing on the drop and felt the feeling. Did it again while breathing which will feel weird at first but I didn't feel it AT ALL.
I would start on 13, then wickerman.i wouldn't recommend Rita first...it's rough!!and waiting for a launch can be nerve-wracking even when you know what's coming
I was horrified of the tallest ones and the ones with inversions, but after a few rides at Universal Orlando, namely Velocicoaster, I have gotten over it. Velocicoaster is now one of my favorites, because it is ridiculously smooth and amazing

But no adult can watch a tiny child bouncing onto a rollercoaster with no fear and not follow suit. And if you somehow can, their jeering will break you lol
Biggest thing to remember is these rides run thousands upon thousands of times with out incident. I have finally got over the fear of the rides but my fear of heights makes me still terrified lol.
fun fact about the ride of the smiler (showed in the first clip of the vid) it was a ride that had issues before and sometime after the issue they added a 5th train on the ride, and they accidently put a train onto a running ride that had no people on the train tho. they didnt know they started the first train so they added another train on the ride while the first train was still going and was stopped at some point on the ride, the 2nd train was going with some passengers and when they were going up the ride it stopped and they thought there was a train while it was going and they didnt see it so they turned the ride back on after the ride was going the 1st train was stopped and the 2nd train ran straight into it. 2 people lost there legs because of this
I know that telling people the odds of getting hurt on a roller coaster does not help, but again, you are more likely to trip on the sidewalk and DIE than get hurt on a roller coaster
Funnily enough i absolutely love roller coasters, but i have always had a hatred for air pressure. The speed and the inverts dont bother me in the slightest, but the feeling of strong air preasure on my face really gets to me

I remember entering alton towers with an absolute phobia of rollercoasters and not wanting to go on the smiler, and leaving right after i had tons of fun on galactica, oblivion and smiler😂😂

i was scared of the big stuff like oblivion and smiler. first time i went alton towers i was too scared to go on them. we went the other day and i forced myself to go on the smiler for the first time and honestly really enjoyed it
tbh, going upside down is probably the easiest part to overcome, as normally, it only lasts about two seconds, you won’t feel anything, apart from maybe just some hangtime which actually feels quite cool. The restraint will keep you from falling, i’d highly recommended going on the next upside down coaster you have the chance to go on
Was absolutely petrified of roller coasters up until age 14 (literally no amount of money in the world could get me to go on one) till I went to Alton towers with my school and my very first coaster was the smiler because that’s where all my friends ran to since they’d already been in it (very chill started Ofc ) and have been an enthusiast since 😌😌
Two years ago I was in disneyland (afraid of every rollercoaster with a looping) with my family. We came past the Indiana Jones coaster which has a looping, which I didn't know. For the rest it looked really amazing so my dad told me that we HAD to ride it. So we did. To make it even funnier, when he was a teenager he pulled the same shit with my aunt 😭😭
yeah, I can agree that starting small is good, I'm actually doing it rn tbh and I've already been on a coaster that has a loop in it, but I personally think that you just need to go at your own pace if you like a coaster and have been on it before or seen people do it and think you can then you will be able to do it, but if you see a coaster that your not ready for yet, then thats totally ok and you should feel free to go at your own pace, but to sum this up I have a quote from a movie that fits this perfectly and that is 'if you think you can, then you will, but if you think you can't, then you won't.

I love speed but hate heights. Tall Coasters like Stealth, The Big One and that new Hyperia would scare the crap out of me but faster ones that aren't as high like Smiler and Nemesis etc I really enjoy. It's kinda weird I know.

Nah I can't physically do it. Idk why but I always pass out on them. I throw up, then pass out. I've done it about 5 times and it's just so miserable. I'm sick all day after going on one too. Some people it just affects really badly :/

This year going to cw so I'm going to start with there old arrow and work my way up to Yukon and the other 2 B&Ms I love vortex and backlot and I'm much taller now so I think it will feel so much more different now.
Starting on smaller coaster is a really baaaaaad advice imho... Especially if you are scared of heights... It would make you experience the bad sides of coasters without enough adrenaline to compensate it. Obviously don't choose an hardcore thing that can traumatise you as first one like kingda ka, the smiler or 4x but still a good adrenaline adult coaster and not a family one...
Back when I first started on rollercoaster I was told some thing that sticks with me to this day. If ur a first timer to rollercoasters try this forgot that nonsense u only need one word that's excited before u join the que tell ur self or even speak it it out loud the phrase I am excited I am.excited I am excited to ride this ride I have been excited to ride it. Ok sounds stupid but by saying ur excited it tricks the brain in to thinking this is a good thing. Trust me it works for every thing in life
I went Alton towers yesterday start if the day I was perfumed to go on roller coasters I had been scared of them all my life so I started on runaway mine train and I enjoyed it so then went to wicker man and it was amazing then I did nemesis and it was the best thing I’ve ever done then did the other ride like smiler and oblivion so a tip from someone who was absolutely petrified of roller coasters just do it and if u enjoy it that’s great if you don’t that’s fine to

Back when I first started on rollercoaster I was told some thing that sticks with me to this day. If ur a first timer to rollercoasters try this forgot that nonsense u only need one word that's excited before u join the que tell ur self or even speak it it out loud the phrase I am excited I am.excited I am excited to ride this ride I have been excited to ride it. Ok sounds stupid but by saying ur excited it tricks the brain in to thinking this is a good thing. Trust me it works for every thing in life

I went Alton towers yesterday start if the day I was perfumed to go on roller coasters I had been scared of them all my life so I started on runaway mine train and I enjoyed it so then went to wicker man and it was amazing then I did nemesis and it was the best thing I’ve ever done then did the other ride like smiler and oblivion so a tip from someone who was absolutely petrified of roller coasters just do it and if u enjoy it that’s great if you don’t that’s fine to
I was shixt scared of coasters and my mum tried to get me in them.with her i was to scared but i went on revorlution at blackpool and i love them now but i wished it was my mum who got me on it now
