I have two questions :
On a 21,5 IMac of 2013, same as left one,
I assume I can connect a ssd to boost the system without having to plug it into the IMac by any demounting operation ?
As well, when installing a SSD and rebooting all, you were talking about installing Catalina again by connecting to the Internet directly ?

Thanks! Yes you can boot it on an external SSD. First you need to install the OS on a SSD. To do so you could do internet recovery. Easier and better is to download the OS and prepare a bootable USB to install it 😉Ps you should get any 27inch over 21.5inch. Thank me later.
