- For a while now we've had the ability to fly the Mini 4 Pro or the Air 3 with the DJI goggles, but we were always limited to using the motion controller. That has now changed with the Goggles 3 and now we have the option to fly with the goggles using our regular controllers like the RC2 or RC-N2.
I can't believe the Mini4Pro, Integra and RC2 dont work together. Really amazing, I am in denial.
Ya me too. I got the goggles 2 for my fpv drones and I wanted to buy the mini 4 pro for some diversity and cant believe i can't use the goggles and RC2 together....
Yeah I was surprised too, I'm sure there's a lot of people out there that would appreciate that option.
Thanks for the video. I have just purchased a mini 4 pro and wanted to buy the avata 2, however my wife and I decided that the mini 4 pro would give us even more value for money during our holidays, as I am sure you know. Now that I have seen this video, I am not so disappointed about not buying the avata as I can buy the Goggles 3 some time in the future first and use them with my mini 4 pro, and then later buy the avata.
I totally agree with you, you'll get far more value out of the mini 4 pro. I would choose it any day over the Avata2, especially for travelling. Now if you were going to get the Avata2, I would recommend the fly more combo with 3 batteries. That way you get everything you would need fly it, with extra batteries and a carrying case, and it would be much cheaper than buying things separately.
Incredible advert for these goggles without actually being an advert. Great, great video. Awesome work!
That's great to hear! Thanks, I really appreciate the comment👍
I tested it, it is great !
I hope we will be able to use the RC2 + Google 3 on the Avata 2.
Hey yeah, that would be interesting to try.
@@CreateandKaptivate hope and waiting dji release a firmware for that.
From France 🇨🇵
I really love the motion kontroller with the Avata 2 it like flying a video game 🎮 I would like to have a 3P option 3rd Person View.
Haha yeah, that would be a cool option to have.
Thank you for making this. You replied to me a while back when I was hoping the goggles would work with my controller 2. Which you correctly pointed out no go. I super excited to get the goggles when available
I like this option more than the motion controller for sure. I haven't had much time to test it out, but I already figured out some new things that I'll have to share.
Thanks for your video, quite informative.
You're welcome. Thanks for the comment!
Thank you for a very comprehensive video. I have subscribed.
You're very welcome. Thanks for subscribing!
I have subscribed as well! :)
Am so happy to see your video. glad the Goggles 3 can work with the RC 2 controller and mini 4 pro
Absolutely! This is something I was hoping for.
@@CreateandKaptivate is there also the possibiliy to do this with the googles 2? I have these from my mini 3 pro time (there was a hack to fly this too), but now I have the mini 4 pro.
Is there like a focus adjust for people who wear glasses? I had to order special prescription lenses for my Meta Quest, curious about this.
Yes, there is a diopter adjust for each eye piece, for those who wear glasses.
Hi thanks for the video, do you recommend buying the dji goggles integra? I heard the display is not that good..
I don't find much difference between my goggles3 display and my goggles integra display. I think the goggles integra are actually really good. The one downside is they use O3 transmission and the newer drones are using O4 which is what the goggle3 use.
Great video 👍
Thanks 👍
Thanks for this. Did you test to se if the obstacle avoidance works while using them?
Yes, you can turn it on in the safety settings. And you still have all the settings like off, brake, and bypass with normal and nifty mode.
Hello. Thank you for your excellent videos, I just found your channel. I also live in Calgary. I have a DJI mini 2 which in not compatible with googles and I am planning to buy one that is compatible with them. What are you commets about the Mini3 for that purpose? Is the mini 4 a big difference?
After owning both the mini 3 pro and the mini 4 pro, you do get a fair bit more with mini 4 pro. Things like active track and waypoints, if that's stuff you're interested in. The mini 3 pro is also a very good drone and the video quality is quite comparable.
My question would be speed etc. can I do the loop de loop stuff or is this too pricey to be doing that? Cut tight spaces at fast speeds.
Unfortunately no loop de loops, but you can fly through tight spaces far better than using the controller screen, but you also need to be careful because you don't have a lot of protection for the gimbal or the props.
You can also use a Skyzone goggles (04X V2) with HDMI input together with a Belkin USB-C to HDMI cable (AVC012) connected to the RC2. You will also need a HDMI female to HDMI mini male cable/adapter.
Interesting, I guess there's more than one way to use the RC controller with a set of goggles.
Great video. Do you know if the IPD (distance between eyes) is any wider on the goggles 3 than the goggles 2? I got a big head and the edges on the goggles 2 are blurry.
Thanks.
Looking at the specs, it appears the IPD range on the goggles 3 and goggles 2 are the same.
Distance between eyes, as well as individual eye diopter fully adjustable.
I have the same issue. Come on DJI this is an easy fix, MAKE THEM WIDER!
They’re coming up with some really cool options lately, man. You must be some sort of drone whisperer. Lol
Haha yeah, or maybe they're watching the comments, on my mini 4 fpv video I had a bunch of people asking if you could use the regular controller. So I guess they're giving people what they want.
Thank You!
You're welcome!
Do you know if theres any way to invert the verts? so that down is up and up is down
I think it can be done, if you change the stick mode before connecting the controller and drone to the goggles. I'll have to try it out. There are some other things I want to try and I'll probably make a follow-up video.
Can you still select Cine mode and Sport mode on the RC while using the Goggle,s 3
Yes, you certainly can.
Do you know if the first FPV goggles they released work with DJI Mini 4 Pro?
I'm not 100% sure, because I haven't tried it. But the updates only mention adding support for the goggles 2 and integra, and the goggles 3.
Another Calgarian! Great video 🎉
Yes! and Thanks👍
To do an orbit with the motion controller you have head trakking available on the Avata 2 you just look at the objekt
You're right, you could do that. I've also found you can do an orbit using the joystick to fly sideways and then tilt the controller to get the rotation.
cool, thanks
No problem!
The main question is, does obstacle avoidance work? Do the intelligent tracking options work? Will future software updates allow features that currently don't work when using the goggles to become available?
Until DJI makes all the functions of the RC2 controller fully accessible while using the goggles, $500 is too high a price, just to have a better view than through RC2.
The obstacle avoidance does work, you have all the same settings that you would normally with the RC2 controller. The intelligent flight modes is something it doesn't currently have. I hope more features are made available in the future. I agree, buying the goggles alone for this purpose is a high price to pay. To me it only made sense because I bought the Avata2 and got the goggles with that combo.
Can I view it both in the goggles and in the phone connected to rcn2? It would be nice to have a second view
I'm not sure with the rcn2, but with the rc2 there is no display on the controller. If you connect a phone to the goggles with a USB you can view the display on that phone (you will need the DJI Fly app on that phone) There may also be a way to broadcast to another device but I haven't tried that.
Thanks for the video by the way, does anybody know with wearing the goggles? What range will you get reference to goggles in distance to the drone?
I'm actually in the process of doing some testing on this. But so far the range has been really good with the goggles and RC2.
@@CreateandKaptivate thanks for your reply. Hopefully you could do a video if you got time and what distance you are getting
I flew mini 4 pro goggles 2 with motion controller out 2+ miles perfect reception 👍
I got the mini pro 4 but I want to know if I should get the goggles 3?
Honestly, I don't think it's worth buying the goggles by themselves. They're not cheap, and at least right now, you can't use most of the mini 4 pro features with the goggles. I bought the Avata 2 combo, so now I have the Avata 2, plus I have the option to use the goggles with my mini 4 pro. I figured that was more worth it, but only if you actually want something like the Avata 2.
Good video. Like and subscribed.
Great to hear! Thanks👍
I really hope the DJI mini 5 comes with this controller and the Googles 3 combo. Bu with all intelligent flight options working.
I agree, it would just be awesome if we got the intelligent flight modes.
I was planning on selling my mini 4 pro to get the new avata 2 but wouldn't it be better just to get the goggle 3 to use with min 4 pro?? Then u have two in one drone in a way. I know the mini 4 pro can not do trick. What you take on this??
I think buying the goggles alone is a bit expensive just to use with the mini 4 pro. But it does give you the FPV option. I think buying the avata2 combo is more value for your money. That being said, if I had to choose between the avata 2 or the mini 4 pro, I would take the mini 4 pro any day, there's just so much more you can do with it.
@CreateandKaptivate let say the goggles drop in price how cheaper would the goggle have to be in order to justify the purchase.
If you really want to have the FPV option, I would just buy the goggles. Because they're new, I don't see the price dropping that much anytime soon. I would definitely do that over replacing the mini 4 pro with the avata 2.
Does it work with the RCN2 control without a screen too?
Yes, this will work with the RCN2, just make sure to have the latest version of the DJI fly app on whatever you're connecting to the RCN2.
@@CreateandKaptivate I haven't even seen a test with the RCN2 with integrated Goggles on CZcams. only with rcn. But thank you very much for the information.
Will this work with the RC N2?
Yes it does work with the RC N2.
is head tracking works on that setup ?
Where you would normally turn it on, I can't select it, but I'll have to look into it a bit more.
I have this exact set up, how am i able to go back and calibrate my goggles3 to work the head tracking , it seems to be disabled on mine
I'm not sure if it's a calibration issue, with the RC controller my head tracking was disabled as well. I do need to look into it a bit more.
It only works with motion controller 3
Это важно! Разберитесь скорее!
Important question, what happens if signal loss, The mavic is coming back home?
I was planning to do another video where I go through all the settings, but in the advanced safety settings which is in the safety menu you can set the aircraft signal lost action to return to home.
Thanks for your answer, I'm also planning to buy a Goggles 3 your video was interesting to me 🙂
I was really hoping to hear you say integra goggles and motion controller 2 would work on the mini 4 pro....i have the Avata 1. & now I'm lookin at the mini 4 pro.
The goggles integra and motion controller 2 will work with the mini 4 pro. I have video on it. I just wasn't able to use the goggles integra with the mini 4 pro and rc2 controller.
@CreateandKaptivate ok thanks..just recently got the mini 4 pro..gonna give it a try
Interesting! Thanks for the video, I just wish the Goggles 3 were cheaper!
Yeah, if you buy them by themselves they are a bit expensive.
GAWD I hope they give it to us on Googles 2 and Mini Pro 3.
Yeah, that would be nice to see. You can use the goggles2 with the mini 3 pro and motion controller, so you'd think it they could add support for the RC2 controller.
I wish that the y Googles Integra would work with the Mini 3 Pro with the Rc controller
I agree, it would be nice to have that option.
Have you tried this setup with the goggles 2 and rc 2?
No, I only have the goggles integra and it didn't seem to work on those. Someone did comment saying it could be done on goggles 2, so maybe they have done it.
Parabéns pelo vídeo, h tenho um mini 4 pro, quero comprar agora o avata 2 combo, obrigado ❤
That's what I did. That way you get the Avata 2 and you have the option to use the goggles with your mini 4 pro.
Noticed in the settings you had up. It said avoidance sensors are off.
I was just about to say that as well.
Yes, and I figured out why, because my obstacle avoidance was turned off before I connected my mini 4 and RC2 to the goggles.
What is this beautiful city?
It's Calgary, Canada.
Hm. This always worked with the Googles 1 and the ROKID Air Google for example.
Interesting, I've heard from a few people now of different ways this was possible before.
I couldn't get it out of 60 fps with controller and goggles for some dumb reason
All my footage was at 60 fps as well, I didn't try changing it, but maybe I can't. I'll have to try it out.
How about mastershot / quickshot menu?
Unfortunately we don't have access to those either, at least not right now.
@@CreateandKaptivate well that's basically flying "only" for fun ;)
Yeah, that's about it. It may be useful on bright sunny days when it's hard to see the controller screen. Hopefully we'll get more features available in the future.
The goggles 2 does work with the rc2, but it's a weird way to set up
That's interesting🤔 I was not aware of that.
It works with goggles 2 and rc2 ? not just motion controller ?
Using Goggles 3 and RC2 with Air3, you lose the ability to switch cameras and 9x zoom :(
Lett that be known.
Oh really? It's seems like there is very limited functionality with the RC2 and Goggles3. Hopefully they can give us more to work with.
Also no head tracking right?
@@anuragrpande no head tracking. Not yet anyways.
Damn that suck no head tracking 😕
Yeah, there's not much other than basic flight controls. It would be nice to have a few of the features like head tracking.
STILL no head tracking - laughable 😂 Can't even access all the settings like intelligent flight modes, cruise control etc. Almost pointless, just a screen on your face that's *it*. Better to just plug some XReal glasses in the bottom like I have.
Yeah, that's how it appears, although, I didn't spend much time checking it out, so I may have missed stuff. I do plan on testing it out some more, just to see what is really available.
@CreateandKaptivate nah that really is all three is according to other reviewers...
Goggles 2 was shown working with RC a year ago, mini 4 with RC 2 is no big surprise, sadly still with no Head tracking.
Dji have cornered the market, backward compatibility is less profitable than forcing customers to buy the new release every 12 months.
@jameskelly9579 oh don't get me c wrong I know precisely why they do it... and their customer infractions are pathetic on their forums when it comes to feature requests
@@jameskelly9579goggles 2 with mini 4 pro you have to use motion rc2 you can not use rc 2 that only works with mini 3
