That's cool. Thanks for sharing Jack.
Just checked and Head Tracking also works on the Mini 4 Pro! Thats seriously awesome! Being able to see straight down with no obstructions is great for surveying and stuff.
for surveying? Without RTK module?
@@XdekHckr Yeah, not professional work. Not "real" suverying. More like you want to go take a look at an area out of reach and having the head-tracking will help you more natrually move the camera around in a confined space.
@XdekHckr RTK will be more precise
A fantastic idea. This is a lot of fun to watch. 👍😃
Thanks for watching
This has been a bit of a sore point my Mavic 3 and Air3, I just hope that at some point they give full use with the RC on these drones instead of the half baked version the give us at the moment, the did it on my Mavic Pro years ago and it was great to fly with
I also bought the goggles 3 with the intention of using them with my air 3. I was disappointed when I saw I lost most of the controls of the drone as the rc2 controller screen is not functional when connected to the goggles 3. I even called DJI before I bought them and was told that they were fully compatible.
Alwa wondered how this worked with the previous gen stuff
Cool options shame everything is being left behind
I guess a mavic 4 and RC pro 2 are incoming?
M4P owner.. this was great...
But I am still not sure about it to pull the trigger.
Good Video
good explanation so far 😊👍🏼
to me it's simply garbage right now !
my Air 3 is MUCH less agil then the Avata, the props completly unprotected ... NO features of the RC2 can be used => no panorama shots, no switching between 1x or 3x zoom, no switching between steady or fpv footage ... after testing, i even wondered the gimble wheel worked well 😅😂
it would be best, if the goggles could simply stream the RC2 🤷🏼♂️ ... hoping this to come with a later firmware 🤞🏼😌🤞🏼
... if not, the avata 2 is the way better device to be connected with the goggles ☝🏼
When flying the air 3 with the goggles, is the link to the drone through the antennas on the goggles or still from the RC?
What would be really cool is third party controller support via the motion controller instead of spending another 200 for a game pad style.
Similar to what simulators do.
"push the power button" to put in pairing mode, might be more accurate to note, 'push and hold the power button for x seconds' to put in a binding mode. Beginners do not already know what you mean and may not be able to distinguish between pressing a power button and "pressing the power button". Press and hold for x seconds might help some more when "binding" since they can not see the power button with your finger over the top of it. It is always good to avoid words like "connect" which might be reserved with the word "wire connect" when updating firmware with the computer software Assistant 2. As a beginner, specificity and consistency of words, do matter.
I can't get the camera to work 3x with the Google 3 or am I doing something wrong ??
have you been able to record your drone video (from the drone not goggles) while using the goggles and motion controller? I'd like to not have to switch between the remote and motion controller if possible.
Thanks
Yes
Do you know if the standard mini 3 will ever get the FPV mode? Thanks for the info.
The previous versions of the goggles and motion controller can connect to the Mini 3.
@DanielCrist yes.
Wow, thank you for this Jack! I can't wait to try it out!
It’s a different experience
Ok im confused to choose between avata2 and air 3 - my requirement is to have fun with goggles sometimes and rc sometimes. Plesse suggest
To video what and where?
Is is better to use rc controller or motion controller? Where trick and feelings are better?
Personal preference
Is it possible for one person to pilot the drone with the RC and another person (e.g., director) to monitor using the goggles at the same time?
Yes.
Can you do acro mode with Motion Control and DJI Air 3?
No
so you can actually pair air 3 with dji rc controller and googles 3? But there is no image displayed on controller when googles are used, right? I though that it will only work with dji motion controller as one guy said on yt (Xavier Arthur)
No image but you can use the DJI RC or motion controller
With the joystick can you program it with googles to do flips and rolls with air3?
No
Nuts!
So can you use the goggles on the mini 4 pro without the motion controller?
Yes
Does it still have the same latency as the RC2. As in it’s not like real fpv where the latency is like 50ms. It’s more like a full second of lag correct?
No. It’s like real FPV
@@HalfChrome Thats fantastic
Do they work with the mini 3 pro too?
No. But the older goggles do
I tried to set my goggles 3 up with my Mini 4 Pro but don’t see the Mini 4 Pro as an option in the goggles 3 screen. Do I have to press and hold the power buttons on both devices to cause that to happen? If anyone can help me out with this answer, I’d be very grateful. I have the Avata 2 and the goggles work with it of course. I have both drones and for starters am focusing on the Mini 4 Pro first…I haven’t even flown the Avata yet!
Make sure you update firmware on all of them or it won’t be an option.
Also the Mavic 3...
👍
How about mini pro 3?
Not yet with these goggles.
The previous versions of the goggles and motion controller can connect to the Mini 3.
However if the new versions were made compatible with the Mini 3, that would certainly make it easier to pull the trigger on an Avata 2 purchase.
@DanielCrist I think that will come in time. We will see.
Goggles 2 need the update so we can fly mini 4 with goggles 2 and rc 2
Once again! Why do we need so many controllers? DJI IS NOT being environmentally friendly. You CZcamsrs must reach out to DJI to also have the controller 3 compatible with others drones like the Mini 4 and Air 3 Or the RC 2 compatible with the Avata 2. This seems so logical why hasn't DJI done this? It's all O4 so it should just be a software upgrade.
You don’t.
New controllers use O4 transmission so it’s not backwards compatible
You do excellent videos. On thing... You do not film, you video. Film or filming, is one of the most misused words in the industry. :-) "Videoed on DJI 3 Flown w/Goggles3 and DJI RC2." Digital Video and film require different skill sets. Having DIFFERENT historical and TECHNOLOGICAL timelines spanning 150 years. 🙂 Educate by having pride in the gear we use including the words to describe what we do. Our tools are Digital Video, Non-linear, and CGI. 🙂 We are moviemakers, not filmmakers. Videographers and/or cinematographers. We video, we do not film. That's the other professionals who know how to use film and film cameras, like an ARRIFLEX 435 and Steenbeck flatbed film editors. Know the difference and be better at your craft. You will also stand out in an industry polluted with point-and-shoot "pros". Respect to you.
Thanks. I understand your point. As technology evolves language often lags. Most people use film and video interchangeably.
Record video? Record?
@@Matanumi That works. 🙂
@@HalfChrome And those that do show their lack of knowledge of the craft. Most people use film and video interchangeably because they do not know any better, it comes from having a smartphone, point and shoot. That interchangeably de-educates. When you say film or filming, people think it is normal and correct. The amateur can get away with it, the professional and teacher should not. :-) Film and digital video are two completely different disciplines and technologies. I have been in the film and television industry for 40 years. Peace and keep up the great work!
@@HalfChrome wow.....I didn't think people actually existed that would take offense to the use of videoing and filming as interchangeable. I salute your response. I don't think I would have the patience for such a childish comment on my video. Good for you. lol
