Cleaning up after letterpress printing for Type High Day

We show a lot of printing in our videos but we don’t often show the cleaning process. In this video, Howard cleans the form after letterpress printing for our Type High Day (September 18th) video. We use 1K kerosene as a solvent for cleaning.
Also shown in this video is breaking down the form after cleaning. Howard redistributes the large wood type back into the type case, and also returns the riglets and furniture back to their proper places in our print shop exhibit. There is a place for everything and everything in its place.

I love how the furniture gets a finished look to it after years of use, very dark and slick, its got every color you can think of on it. I wonder if those watching know what the chase is..the furunture, the Quonis, Quoin key, and what a lock up is ?

Does the ink plate spins a slight turn every time the roller goes over to give an equal amount of ink on the letters?
