- Watch step by step how I made a really nice backyard shower enclosure. Perfect for showering off after the beach or pool. It has hot and cold water, a full privacy fence, and a lockable gate!

Scott You have outdone yourself!
And have amazing
skills with your
hands 💯
I on the other hand don’t have your talent .
So I bought me a solar shower ,
It built under my unused carport
And I’m still creating more privacy with
Tropical plants and a bunch of other
Camouflage because of my Nosy neighbors 😂
For your first time with trial and error, good job kid.
Thanks! Yeah it was definitely a learning experience but turned out pretty decent
I am very proud of you, young man, even though you can't do it as carefully as the professionals, you are really encouraging me to do it.
Thanks!
Great Job Scott!! You done good!!!
Finally a true DIY video made by an actual weekend warrior, not a pro! Also I remember pouring a small backyard patio with that same mixer and method - best workout I’ve ever done lol - could barely get out of bed the next morning!
Thanks! Yeah concrete mixing by yourself is not fun especially when you realize you can't stop until your finished lol
Love this!!
Great Scott! Talent and looks! ❤
Thank you!
Your a true natural mate. Blimmin Amazing job 🙌
Haha thanks!
Very cool!
Thanks Nick!
Much could have been done better but the joy of DIY and an improve to your house is very valuable, congratulations looks incredible!
Looks nice
Thanks brother
Glad to see your imperfections of doing diy we live and learn, happy to this one project done all the way to success 😇🙂
Thanks!
You made my day, thanks for your video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Concrete/mortared base for outdoor shower seems to be an overkill. Could put some nice stepping stones and river rock in between them and it would do the trick with much less work and possibility to disassemble it later if you need to do maintenance on piping. i dont know where you are but if winter is cold those can burst...etc. It does look beautiful though, no question here :)
Yeah that would definitely work too. It never gets below freezing here but that is also a good point.
Looks great......wonderful wok
Thanks!
Just found this. Love it. I love your just do it figure it out mentality. Something I struggle with trying to know all the things at the start of every project.
Great finishing work. Real diy. Only concern I have would be the wood standoffs for the rebar.
Thanks! Merry Christmas
✨️💯👏👏 Bravo, muy buen trabajo, quedó muy bonito !!! Felicitaciones totales 👏 🎉💯👏🤗😊❤️ Saludos desde Perú ❤️ 🇵🇪 😘 👍
Hola! Muchas gracias!!!
Looks good...nice work
Thanks!
Great video I subscribed and shower looked really nice.
Thanks!
Quel foutoir, quel bordélique ce mec !
Thanks for taking the time to video the process and share. It's difficult enough to undertake this project, much more having to film and edit.
You did a great job. Continue to stay energetic and aggressive with your dream projects and you'll never grow old!
Thank you! Yes, filming does make things go a lot slower and sometimes more difficult but I enjoy doing it :)
This is a REAL DIY!! I Loved it , honest and great job !!! Turned out great
Thank you! :)
🎉yes pretty nice🎉
Thanks!
Not bad for a young men🤙🏼🏆
Thanks!
Mate this was a really good video that didn't sugar coat or hide how sometime things go pear shaped. At times I thought of my own DIY situations and how I would have handled it ( Not good). Excellent job and good perseverance.
Thanks Rob! Yes definitely got challenging at points and took longer than I thought it would but it turned out great
You did awesome!! Absolutely beautiful stain color 😍
Thank you!
Yeah that's cool man just the slab would've been awesome too
Looks great Scott. Where did you get your shower fixture ?
www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09QCJ9XD7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 not the best quality but worked for mine
This is what a true diy project looks like or at least mine do. Nice finished project!
Thanks!
Great job! Any chance you remember what Penofin finish you used? Also, did you just use SharkBites? I'm planning an outside shower build in the Texas Hill Country and was curious about using SharkBite connectors outside. We do get periodic freezes through the year.
Thanks! I used a IPE penofin. Where I live it never gets below freezing but I'm sure you can google if sharkbites will work where it freezes but I'd probably just shut off the water
Awesome job. Where did you purchase your ipe wood from? Any suggestions?
I got it from a local lumber supply company. I would try to ask for a bulk or contractors discount
Turned out really nice. I couldn’t catch the name of the wood slats and the oil coat you used. Can you share those thanks!
Thanks! Yeah the wood is IPE and I used Penofin IPE oil
Great work brother. Very enjoyable video. Looks amazing
Thanks glad you enjoyed it!
A lot of work BUT the shower will feel so much better
Definetly
Great work dude
Thanks!
How do u not have all your tools in order before you start a job!
I have never seen such sloppy work and disorganization in my life. However you did a nice job on the posts and outer structure .
That's a great question Christopher haha. Definitely could’ve used a hand and some pointers with the concrete but it turned out alright
Nice Build, What Exact stain and color did you use on it?

If you have to go under a side walk again it makes it a lot easier if you use a pressure washer.
That is a good idea!
@@DIYSCOTT Yeah. Just use a pipe like you did but if you use a pressure washer is will cut a hole the size of the pipe without using nearly as much water. A lot of times plumbers, electricians and sprinkler installers do this to avoid having to cut sidewalks.
@@DIYSCOTT Oh, and if you don't have one of those nozzles that has a ceramic bead in the end that creates a cone shape. I think they call them turbo tips or something. They are great for this. They are also a lot faster for almost everything else.
@@rehoboth_farm Awesome thanks for the tips! Less water would have helped with the flooding it caused
What color material you used? It is very nice
I used IPE wood which is naturally a purplish orange color then stained it with PENOFIN IPE oil
I would have put paving stones and pea gravel over sand on a French drain. Or a wood deck. Tiled concrete is overkill. Schluter is a waste and not necessary.
You didn’t need schluter outdoors on a concrete slab. It’s only for wood subfloors indoors.
Yeah I did that as a crack isolation membrane but probably not necessary
Or you could have set polished pebbles into slab and brushed off
Which Penofin did you use? Clear? Colored? Would love to know :-)

It rains outside way more than you take a shower. Why do you need a shower drain for an outdoor shower?
Gravel base with steppingstones on top would be much easier.
Yeah that would work too
First comment 🎉😅
Thanks for watching!
Do you really need all that to have an outdoor shower ?
No you could just hold a garden hose over your head too
That much water next to your foundation cannot be good do you have raised foundation or slab?
Yeah I thought about that once I was already doing it 😬It's a post-tension slab but it didn't seem like the water was permeating through the soil very much because the hole I was trying to get to stayed dry until I poked through
It would probably would've been best to pump concrete back under the sidewalk too but I'm not worried about it
can you discuss the costs of this build please?
Yeah good question (hard to remember precisely):
Cedar Posts: ~ $200
IPE Siding: ~$2,000
Block: ~$60
Concrete Slab: ~ $150
Plumbing and Shower: ~$200
A pretty rough estimate of somewhere between $2500 and $3000 in materials. Definetly depends on where you buy it too. IPE is one of the most expensive types of wood available in my area
Great work just careful with that grinder jeezzz 10:49
Thanks yeah me and grinders don't get along well
No to wood to raise rebar
Needs more rebar.
Haha... I feel bad for the person who is gonna have to take it out one day
Looks good but its see through lol
If someone is peering through the slits in my own backyard we got bigger problems
Sand was not good.
Explain... i'm curious
I give half a year his outdoor shower falls apart NON PRESSURE TREATED LUMBER
It's been 9 months and SOLID AS A ROCK... lol (cedar posts are naturally rot resistant and I treated the bottom of the posts)
Nice DIY video, but do you know how few places in the USA NEVER freeze in the winter (only Hawaii and far southern Florida). You are preaching to a very small congregation.
Yeah... Southern California here (who needs an outdoor shower in the winter though haha - probably would just keep it turned off with valves inside the house)
