  • Part 3 of the brut de forge integral hunting knife. In this video I finish grind, hand sand, make a spacer, shape a handle, and assemble all the pieces. I decided to make a leather sheath for this knife, so there will be a part four. #knifemaking

    Really good mate thanks. Would be cool to see a little more detail on how you sized the copper spacer and heirloom fit handle but I’m just being fussy, awesome video series, thank you

      @@Hathenbrucksteelworks I am a fairly new bladesmith and watch a few different makers and smiths, with finding your channel I now have 4 go to creators that I can watch and learn from who keep things real and do work that takes my interest, most that I watch don't keep it real at all and are mostly interested in showing off how good they are but end up making wall hangers, to me that is not making blades

      I know exactly what you mean. I’m always glad to help. If there are any videos you’d like to see, I’ll do my best to make them.

      @@Hathenbrucksteelworks but of a big ask maybe but would love to see how to forge wrought to high carbon steel to make a knife, seen others do it but love how you explain how you do things and why

    Love the knife man, great work! I want to give integral bolsters a try but I don't have any power hammers lol so it's doable, just would take quite a long time.

    • @Hathenbrucksteelworks
      @Hathenbrucksteelworks  Před rokem +1

      It’s totally doable, and yeah, it does take significantly longer. Someone asked me to do a video on hand hammering an integral, so I was planning on doing a video.

      @@Hathenbrucksteelworks That would be awesome! I have some one inch round stock that I could work with and follow along.

      1” round will make a decent sized knife. I’ll have to get some. All I have right now is ¾”

      They’re actually pretty good. I’ll be doing a quick video on it. They’re called sewing machine lights. I got a couple different ones from Amazon.
