    Gino I live right by the Swamp House Restaurant on the St. Johns. I am primarily a Central Florida Lake Fisherman. Can you tell me if I leave the ramp by the Swamp Hose and go north (before Blue Springs) are there plenty of shell beds in between where the bass fishing should be good? BTW is it good most year around? Thanks Gino

    If you could only have one, which would it be, power poles or spot lock?

    • @GinoLosi
      @GinoLosi  Před 2 lety +1

      Spot lock 100%. With that being said, I spend 99% of my time fishing little obscure spots offshore. If I fished shallow I would choose poles. You need to buy what product best suits YOU.

    • @bmazfishing
      @bmazfishing Před 2 lety

      @@GinoLosi thanks man! That’s what I felt! I like off shore and would rather be there but springtime here is shallow and lasts a while. Poles are key then but think spot lock could be used in and out vs. just less than 8ft.

    Why will they be there one day and 3 miles away the next day? Bait moving? No current in that one shell bar you were fishing?

    • @GinoLosi
      @GinoLosi  Před 2 lety +1

      There was current just not much because the river gets wide there. The shell bar fish follow the bait. Those bars are dinner tables, not homes. They act completely different than grass fish. Think about areas you've seen big schools of shad one day and then they are gone the next. Those bass follow the bait.

    2 questions.
    1. What color pallet and contrast settings are you using on your lowrance?
    2. What retrieve are you using?
    I fish some shell beds in 8-10ft of water and can only get them to bite when the swimbait is falling. I tried yo-yo'ing it to try to imitate it falling and didn't have any success, but id cast it back out and get bit as it was sinking.

    • @GinoLosi
      @GinoLosi  Před 2 lety

      Color pallet #9 for sidescan and #1 for 2D. My retrieve varies depending on where the bass and bait are located in the water column. You were probably dealing with suspended fish. If you watch the video I was letting the swim bait hit the bottom and using a slow steady retrieve to ensure the bait stayed on the bottom. With that said I did this based on that situation.
