    Very interesting and informative video. This was my 1st video of yours that I have watched. I watched it completely through 2 times as a check and recheck. Central Florida (Harris Chains and Kissimmee Chains, etc.) have such finicky fish at certain times and even the Pros find those areas to be odd for finding patterns. What you said in this video was Spot-on about where they hang out and what baits and colors they like to bite on. The exception s that were not mentioned was Bubble Gum Pink and Black/Purple or Blue/Purple stick baits, especially Trick Worms. Anyway, glad I found your channel! I could see myself subscribing at some later point, liked it that much. Thank you for a great video.

    According to JT Kenny, a FWC biologist told him that 75% of a Florida bass diet is bluegill. Of the remaining 25, 15% was crawfish. Crawfish are very prolific in waters with vegetation. The remaining 10% is shinners, shad and frogs. At the same time remember we have large he populations of tilapia which bass are getting attuned to eating.

The trick to catching big bass in Florida in the cold fronts it to slow down and fish deep pockets. You can 100% catch bass in the summer time here in Florida but you need to be out there at first light these fish want to be in deeper water and so find grass in deeper water and remember you could make 2 perfect casts and not get a bite. That third throw in could put your bait exactly how they want it and trigger a bite. Just because you don't get bit on the initial couple throws doesn't mean there isn't a fish down there willing to bite

    Thanks for the info. I want to start fishing with my son. We won't have access to a boat or anything. Does the advice change for those fishing from shore?

    With the swim jig in FL do you recommend the 3/8oz or a 1/2 oz weight or both

    • @nathanquincefishing7122
      @nathanquincefishing7122 Před 2 lety

      I recommend both! 3/8 for shallower emergent vegetation like lily pads and 1/2 for deeper submerged grass!

    Being born and raised in north Florida ( st John's and rodman's home water). You just about nailed it, especially if your not from Florida. There's still a secret or two you need to add to your bait arsenal but you're pretty close. I know 2 baits right off the top of my head that are musts you didn't mention. And never forget a big worm down here. 12-14" worms

      I couldn’t mention everything and fit it all into a reasonable length CZcams video! I tried to make it geared to the person just visiting for the first time as the fishing is so different

      @@nathanquincefishing7122 I will say this, you did the best job of breaking down how to in Florida that I've seen on CZcams so congratulations.

    I could have told you about Florida bass fishing. Who can't catch a bass in Florida? I wish someone could tell me how to consistently catch bass in clarkshill lake.

    I've lived in florida almost all my life, but just in the last couple years bought a boat and took up bass fishing. It's so hard to find the fish here. But I'm gonna use what you've said in the morning when I hit orange lake and I'll let you know how it goes.

    i’ll be moving to florida in a year or 2 i was woundering if it’s worth getting a small boat for fresh water fishing or is there a lot of land spots to fish from??

    Never catch bass like that

    I'm a florida native 52 years I've been chasing giants and getting em. Everything u said was dead right. I'd say when the cold snaps kill everyone else I've found don't be afraid to go catch some 10" native golden shiners on a hair hook and toss em out deep to find out what actually lives there.

      If you haven't fished Texas much and want to come down sometime let me know. Most of our lakes are stocked with Florida strain.
