It's definitely for adults. The "it's for kids" thing is just a dirty cop-out excuse to be lazy in their "comedy" writing and content production. If they say it's "for kids" then any time someone criticizes their terrible, lazy writing they already have an excuse locked and loaded, ready to fire back.
What they don't seem to grasp is that this excuse, in this context, is a type of fallacy called 'non sequitur' because the content actually is for adults, but they know that, so it's less "fallacy" and more "propaganda" (literally.)

This reminds me of the 1966 Batman conundrum: it's clearly meant for kids, what with the cheesy humor, simple plots and occasional math lesson and message to eat your vegetables--so why is there at least one bikini-glad woman in EVERY EPISODE??
But that was the 60's, though. Wasn't there not really separate content for kids back then? Instead they had "family" stuff, which was exactly like that: lessons for the kids and eye-candy for the adults, who would all be watching the show together on their bulky little square TV.
As a parent, I want to say thank you for bringing this to my attention. This kind of stuff really worries me and angers me.

How I like to contextualise it is by looking at the minecraft CZcamsr stampylongnose. He used to swear, he wasn’t aiming at children, but his content attracted kids anyway and when he realised that he took the responsibility to stop doing things that were inappropriate for his audience. He didn’t intend to create content for kids, but that happened, and so he stepped up to that role and made sure he kept his audience safe and I have the upmost respect for him for that.

I find it pretty insane but also really cool that your video and the Nerd City video came out on the same day, when I know both channels put tons of work and editing into their videos that easily means days to months of work on a video idea and content.
