Furkan - you confuse race with nationality. They are not the same. As others here have pointed out, the current inhabitants of Anatolia are of very mixed ethnic/racial backgrounds. I am giving my opinion based on observation of men who are Turkish nationals and the behaviour of the vast majority.
Therefore we can generalize. As 'a Turkish guy', you take your shoes off when you enter a house. If you're a smoker, you never smoke in front of your father. And if you haven't done your school homework - you copy it from a Turkish girl who has done it! True Furkan?
I think Turkish men are friendly and polite, I like Turkish people (in general) because they are similar with my latin culture, always warm and easy-going. I didn't born in Turkey but it's in my heart ❤️ Greetings from Peru 🇵🇪🦙 🤗

This is a harika format with Turkish and English subtitles, please make more of these. Also interesting to hear peoples insights for example how the economic problems in country really affect men mentally, because they are supposed to provide for the family. I never thought of that in this way.
@Hilal Ayar of course it affects all the society, including the non working groups like children, elderly people etc. But in a country like Turkey with more prominent gender roles the financial expectations from men are highest of them all, hence the mental pressures

@@zakiyyah-7240 Haha was talking in general, but my first true love was half indo half dutch, I was 16 or so at the time she was a year or so younger but the prettiest girl in my high school. But back then I was still a child, I was immature, I wasn't a good boyfriend and she wasn't a good person. But love blinds. I was very jealous and very controlling. Too jealous. Some jealousy is natural and good but mine was extreme. (I have had girlfriends get angry because they believed I wasn't jealous enough and took that as me not caring) It didn't help that she was a pathological liar and very manipulative. She'd lie about the smallest and biggest things. E.g. She once told me that she had kindey cancer as a kid and that her mother gave her one of her kidneys. But a few months later it suddenly became skin cancer instead (she never had cancer and was a very healthy girl, not sure why she felt the need to lie). She would constantly talk really badly about her cousin who was also very pretty, I think because she thought I might be interested in her or something. And her cousin later (after we broke up) also said a lot of bad stuff about her etc etc. Anyway her lies made me even more paranoid and made me not trust her and trust is very important in a relationship.
We broke up, then a month later we got back together after she came crying to my door. I loved her a lot so I accepted but a few weeks later when I realised she was dating me for the wrong reasons I broke up again. To her I was the older boy who was popular, had lots of friends, and had a reputation as someone you didn't want to mess with. I felt like she cared more about my reputation and popularity than she actually cared for me. I felt like she didn't feel as deeply as I felt about her.
At that age I was cocky and I thought I was invincible. But then this pretty little girl destroyed me and I had never in my life felt such a pain. I'm talking waking up in the middle of the night, sweating with a panic attack, seeing her with other kids in my nightmare, extremely depressed, all I could think of was her. I had no interest in any other girl. But I swallowed my pain and tried to move on.
I didn't really keep contact, blocked her everywhere because it hurt too much. And she tried to get back together at first and despite how deeply I felt I now saw her flaws and issues, I realised she probably never felt as strongly as I did. I was also really angry, not on her but on my self, because I misjudged a person so badly. Because I lied to myself and ignored all the red flags.
I think it took me more than a year to truly get over her. Maybe longer even. It was one of the most painful things I've experienced in life but in the end it made me a much better person. Reflecting on the relationship I realised that I also wasn't a great person or boyfriend. That my jealousy, attitude etc weren't healthy. Some jealousy is normal and even good in a relationship. But it shouldn't be taken too far and both sides should trust each other.
It made me learn from my mistakes, grow as a person and man. It made me pay more attention to details and made me a better judge of people and personalities.
I hope she has a great life. We were both kids at the time now we are both adults. I have no hard feelings towards her and despite how painful it was I do think it was good for me and helped me grow a lot as a person. As a kid I was popular, I was strong, everyone wanted to be my friend and I was very angry / got into a lot of fights that I always won. So I thought I was invincible and special. I learned that even the strongest person has weak spots. No one is above anyone else. I learned to control my emotions. I learned to be more respectful and understanding of others Esp women. I learned that we don't always get what we want and love is complicated. It's the best drugs in the universe when it's going good. But it's hell when it doesn't.
Anyway, I'm ranting. It's been over 10 years since I dated that girl. I've seen her here and there a few times, she added me on a few social media but I never accepted and I don't really use stuff like Facebook etc anyway since I hate social media culture, feel like it makes everyone fake and desperate for attention (I'm saying while writing my life's story to a complete stranger)
Anyway, I hope you and your boyfriend have a wonderful, lasting, loving relationship. I hope you both respect each other and are always honest to each other. Wishing you all the happiness in the world

OMG, firstly I wanna say sorry for your pain. I don't know who she is in real, but I think it's so weird that she lying on u by saying she has a cancer.
But u know, u have a pure heart by saying that u misjudged her badly and u still understanding that she's not as strong as u,, even in fact she was so mean to u.
But at least by that experience u learned many things and as u said u become more mature mentally. There's always a lesson in every problem in this life and u got that lesson by facing that problem :)
U know,, my relationship is not as perfect as Turkish Drama. Sometimes I fight with him and it made me wanna breakup when we have a big problem but we always try to solve the problem by evaluating what caused the problem and it makes our relationship surviving.
But thank u for what u said and for sharing your life story,, I hope we always have wonderful, lasting, loving relationship. İnşallah.

My impression while visiting Turkey, was that the men generally seem to be nicer, kinder people than the women. This is especially the case with the younger generation. I am a senior lady, so romance has nothing to do with it. 😁
I noticed the same thing. Girls have a sharp stare sometimes like they're judging (they are much nicer around guys though)

The two stereotypes that are actually true are:
-they definetly mama boys
- they are really jealous, but that goes for boys and girls. Usually this kind of jealousy is considered toxic and non sense abroad, but Turks kind of agree that there should be jealousy or else they don't love you😅
Western society fosters supressing feels in an unnatural way...such as jealousy should be hidden. To an extent it helps a serious relationship to mature. As with all things...done in moderation

At first I thought it WAS an Easy Turkish video. Unfortunately, there's really nothing "easy" about most Easy Turkish videos, while this video was quite useful with the subtitles in two languages, and tons and tons of adjectives to describe a person's attitude.

If they are like you then they are good as well. 😀...However, each society creates its own stereotypes and I guess Turkey being a conservative society places its own burden and personality outcomes on it's people. Everywhere there are good and bad people. Atleast the turkish dramas reveal this universal truth. But all said and done Turkish men and women are one of the best and most attractive in this world. ...just my humble opinion.

I think there is quite a big difference between Istanbul men and (East-) Türkiye men. But this is true in all countries for the biggest city in a country and the rest of a country: Amsterdam men are different from the "rest-of-the-Netherlands" men, and so on (Paris men - French men, London men - UK men). But Turkish men are surely more "macho" (or masculine) than for instance Dutch men. And that's not too bad a thing (my opinion).
There are indeed many foreigners who think that Turkish people are Arab, or "Arab-like", but that's absolutely not true. There is a big difference in mentality and behaviour.
Yes, every case if different, but I think that in general, Turkish men are friendly and helpful.
as a East Turkhis man, what do you think about us bro? I don't see any big differences. It's about personality not about any regional race. We can make an average Turkhis man, some of Turkhis guy will be above average while others are lower than average. But you can't determine what is an average for guys by asking peoples that walking in the streets.
Turkish guys are decent . Our hotel receptionist was such a gentleman and yeah I was also offered a seat in subway considering I had a baby wd me . I felt quite respected jus like in Pakistan ❤️
The news I've been hearing from Pakistan in the few last months says men are anything but respectful to women. And around the world the impression of Pakistani men behaviour towards women is the same. Whereas to foreign female tourists (esp of white skin) its quite the opposite. I'm not a supporter of feminism but no wonder movements like that are getting quite famous there despite the backlash, coz if society doesn't give women rights they have to look towards other means to achieve them. It's feminism in this case

Make sure you understand their culture. My brother in law said. Majority Turkish men have excessive jelousy. Not all Turkish men have that character. For them is normal. as it is a gesture of 'love' for their partner. And they expect their partner be jelous too. My sister in culture shock for almost 2 years and still she try her best to adapt.
Jealousy is a sign of love in every culture but when taken too far is bad. I do think in Turkey we are a bit too jealous. Both men and women. Mainly because when we love we love extremely deeply. In our culture love has almost a mythical place. Almost all our traditional music is about love and people doing crazy things for love or to be together. We have stories about moving mountains just to be with the person you love etc.
But excessive jealousy just isn't compatible with this time and age. No jealousy is also not good. I've had non Turkish girlfriends who got super upset for me for not being jealous enough. Some girls / women will do or say stuff just to see if you get a little jealous because they see thst as a confirmation that you truly care so they sorta "test you" (ladies don't do this.. It's really annoying)
But I also partially ruined my first true relationship / love when I was 16 because I was extremely jealous and controlling. The pain of that eventual heartbreak did teach me a lot and made me grow a lot as a person and man. Despite the pain I managed to reflect upon my own behaviour and realised that eventhough she also was a very flawed person and one of the reasons for my excessive jealousy was because she was a pathological liar that lied about the dumbest things, I also quickly realised I myself was very flawed. Too jealous, too controlling, too full of myself. I also realised I wasn't invincible as I thought, since heartbreak was pain like I had never felt before. It absolutely destroyed me back then with how much it hurt. She wanted to get back together but I swallowed my pain and refused because I realised that our relationship wasn't healthy, and she probably never felt as deeply as I did. She cared more that I was popular, had lots of friends, everyone knew me etc. She was the prettiest girl in my highschool but also a little younger and despite how attractive she was she didn't have that many friends.

As a Turkish guy I think there is a little too much macho stuff in our culture. We're also pretty jealous (men and women lol). But generalising all Turkish guys is a bad thing.
That said in my experience (and these are generalisations). When we fall in love we fall madly in love. Like 99% of our folk music is about love and dying for love lol. When we care about someone we care 110%. We give our everything. Unfortunately sometimes jealousy is taken too far. Thankfully I had my heart broken thoroughly when I was 16 and it was partially because I was so extremely jealous and controlling and it kinda made me change and become a better man (she was a horrible girl, so the issue wasn't just me. I lacked trust in her but she was also literally a pathological liar who said she had cancer ad a child and her mother gave her a kidney. And then a few months later kidney cancer became skin cancer instead. She constantly lied about her cousin and said all kinds of heinous things about her I guess because her cousin was like herself very attractive and she was worried I liked her or something)
Anyway it took me a while to get over that relationship. And upon reflecting on it I realised that not only was she a horrible person but I also had been a horrible boyfriend. I was super jealous, controlling and very full of myself.. I thought I was invincible at that age but then this tiny girl broke my heart so hard it hurt more than anything ever before lol
What I regret the absolute worst though is that I once called her and when I found out she wasn't where I thought she was I got angry. But what I regret wasn't that I got angry at her (although that was dumb). See I was at a Dutch friend's house and his mother was there and I was being a dick to my gf on the phone. And I was super inconsiderate. His mother said what I did wasn't right and I was being controlling. And stupidly brushed it off. Thinking back I'm so fucking embarrassed. That woman had run from a very controlling and violent relationship, from my friends abusive father. She literally lived in a woman's shelter for a while. And here I was a 16yo idiot being all angry and macho on the phone to my gf back then, then brushing her off and kinda making light off it all completely forgetting that this woman had gone through this horrible controlling and abusive relationship.
I'm sorry Anita you were always like a mother to me and I absolutely hate myself for having been so rude that day. Idk what possessed me.

We really cannot stereotypify Turkish men here. Whether you're Turkish, English, Pakistani, Indian, or whatever else, really it doesn't matter. In the end we all are humans. Good and bad exists in all humans, with some inclining more to either of the two. People tend to project their own experiences onto reality. But it really does vary from person to person. That’s how the world works.

Some can be caring and romantic others are less so. Every one I've dated hasn't really liked me speaking or interacting with any other guys friends customers strangers etc sitting near men was not allowed, turkish men can get very jealous and possessive and a little controlling.
If I spoke to guys hung out with friends who were male I would get a slap.
They profess love very quickly.
I do love the culture and language very rich history of the Turkish. ❤️
They love to sing love songs to you and are more than willing to teach you their language and culture, they can be funny they can be serious and are hard working.

They're hot (physically and temper-wise), but they lean very much toward what we would call "Mama's boys" in American culture. Whenever a friend tells me that he or she is getting involved romantically with a Turkish guy, I tell them to buckle their seatbelts, watch out for the drama, and I wish them all the luck in the world. As friends, Turkish guys are amazing. As lovers? Well, they can be a bit on the crazy side.
About the sex , that is so true.. i am married to a Turkish man.. and also he is never ever ever jealous at all. Yes he is very caring towards me and helpful, but what annoys me so much is that after eating he just leave his dirty dishes on the table and with crumbs and so on without bothering to pick up the dishes and put it in the dishwasher and to wipe the table of the spills and crumbs that he ate as he said his mother never allowed him / teach him and his siblings even to pick up the dishes after eating and just walked away from the table and without pushing back in the chair! And what annoys is me so much is that sometimes he can't be dependent on decision and will always have to ask and show his whole family about it , like when we just moved in the house and after renovation he wants his whole family to come and help to clean up . Where i come from in Singapore, men are more independent, and doesn't always ask their parents for help in decision and cleaning one house after renovation / moving in etc . Every steps he take he will always ask his dad if it's ok? Like example i wanted a small chandelier in the bedroom he asked his dad if ITS OK?! HIS DAD SAID NO, so yeah in the end we didn't get chandelier. I wanted to make our stairs laminated, his dad said better to make carpet, so yeah my husband said carpet then and etc etc!!

90% of turkish men use their wives as slaves and wants them to clean their stuff just like their moms did. My dad (50 years old) still does the same thing as you described to my mom (45 yrs old) they never grow out of it. My mom both cleans his dishes his room and also pays for all of our expenses.

I think all over the world there are good and bad men in every relationship and there is definitely jealousy. I believe no relationship or marriage is perfect, there will always be strife or disagreement, it depends from person to person how they handle the matter. I speak for myself of course, for other countries the Turkish actors are of course attractive men and especially because they play in a romance, it makes them even more attractive and it makes the ladies more obsessive ... but it's part of drama and their work.
