10 Quickest Muscle Cars Of The 1950s!| What They Cost Then vs Now
That immaculate red and white 1957 Chevy Bel Air has me grinning ear to ear!
😁😁🤩😁😁
I can’t stop smiling looking at these gorgeous classic ‘50s American cruisers!
❤️❤️❤️
The narration for this video is a joke. The Pontiac Bonneville as a "4-door with 4 headlights". Or the Corvette with "electronic fuel injection" (it was mechanical). The list goes on!
Thank you for your sincere feedback, I will improve it immediately to bring a better experience to you and your beloved audiences. Once again sincerely thank you.
called the 59 Vette motor a 5.4 liter which would make it a 327 but only the 283 was available.
Yes, thank you so much.@@joefisk4448
...never noticed the '51 Hudson had "square headlights!" 😂
Well, thank you for your comments to help me do better. That has been modified by me in my latest video. I will gradually edit old videos so that they have better quality.@@user-jp9gr7ik8x
Great video! Beautiful cars!
Great. Thank you very much.
Nothing more American than this fully restored two-tone 1955 Pontiac Chieftain!
Well, thank you for your comments to help me do better. That has been modified by me in my latest video. I will gradually edit old videos so that they have better quality.
Ponchos were so cool from the 50s to the 2000s. Sucks that the division was phased out. I only owned one pontiac, an 04 GTP with the bulletproof 3.8L and it was really quick with just a few bolt ons. Should have never sold it.
How wonderful. You have had interesting experiences with vintage muscle cars.@@wrotenwasp
I spy a gorgeous 1953 Studebaker Starliner coupe - what a beauty!
❤️❤️🍺❤️
That lead sled 1956 Dodge Coronet is getting me all sorts of excited!
🤩🤣🤩🤣🤩
According to 59 Corvette literature, the engine was the 289 CI or 4.63 liters. Top HP was 290.
Thanks for your great information. I will dig into more information for the next videos. Let's explore powerful muscle cars with us
I am not sure where you got 4.63 liters while 289x16.387=4.735
Thank you, there may be errors in data processing. Happy to answer you.@@fivemega1
That lowered and chopped 1951 Ford Coupe is seriously making me drool right now!
❤️🤩❤️🤩
The 1959 Corvette did not have electronic fuel injection. It was a mechanical fuel injection.
Thank you for always supporting my channel. Wish you always cheerful and happy.
They were truly the best muscle cars.
Yes, thank you. There Muscle cars are so strong.
Im geeking out hard seeing this 1954 Buick Skylark convertible!
🤩😍🤩😍🤩
All but the Corvette are described as luxury sedans. Only the Hudson was a sedan. The rest were convertibles or coupes.
@Rd…Stuckey- Hudson did indeed offer a 4 door sedan, as well as Coupes, Hardtop Coupes and convertibles. But the ones they raced, like “The Fabulous Hudson Hornet” were all coupes. I don’t know if anybody ever raced 4 door sedans, and I can’t say they haven’t, but a 2 door coupe would certainly offer greater structural strength. My dad had a ‘54 Hudson Hornet Special, and it was a 2 door coupe.
It means a lot that fellow muscle car enthusiasts tune in to see my reviews and walkarounds of these powerful machines.
@@MichaelJohnson-dt8tv I was referring to the images shown during the time the narrator was speaking.
@@Ed_Stuckey- I know, Ed. Wasn’t trying to correct you, just adding my $.02. Some people reading this site might not be aware, that’s all.
The 58 T-bird wasn't a 2 seater! The 55 300 wasn't a supercharged Hemi!
Thanks for your information. I have censored the videos later on for the latest videos. Hope you still support my channel.
They were truly the best muscle cars of the 1950s.
Yes, thank you. There Muscle cars are so strong.🤩😏🤩🥳
@@qmusclecars If that wasn't sarcasm, he's as stupid as you.
Peep that hot rodded 1949 Mercury Coupe - Im pumped listening to it rumble!
😁🥳😁😅😅😁
Get your information correct! The 1958 Corvette did not have electronic fuel injection. It only had the Rochester mechanical fuel injection. Side note, many fuel injected Corvettes burned, mainly when driven by ladies that were used to carburetor cars; thus they would pump the gas pedal several times, causing a backfire and starting the car on fire.
Thank you very much. I did more research for my next videos.
There are a lot mistakes in this video. No 1959 Corvette was offered with 315 HP - the top HP was 290 HP. (I had tep1959 Corvettes) There was no electronic Fuel Injection in 1959 or 1960 or 1961 or 1962 or 1963 (I own a 63 FI) . The Dual headlights are not shown on any of these models. The inarticulate narrator is confusing 2 Headlamp with the 2 lower mounted Parking Lamps.
Yes, there is a huge mistake here. We have seriously reviewed this issue. Surely they will be repaired immediately. Thank you very much for helping us see our mistakes.
I changed the voice with a professional in the latest video. Can you rate it for me? Thank you very much.
I am a Corvette guy, 1972, and I saw these but knew someone had caught them earlier. The older cars were so easy to inexpensively modify. You could get 315hp out of that 59 Vette for a few hundred dollars back in the day. I'm curious as to how you like the FI on your 63..
@@1972Ray My 63 FI is hard to start after winter hibernation, however if driven regularly in the warmer months it starts and runs OK. After the seconds restoration I've only run Race Gas - was $10/gallon - now $15./gallon - Connecticut is one of the corn gas only states. The ethanol is bad for fuel systems without the proper material safeguards. Holley even makes ethanol resistant rebuild kits for carbs - but they did not and still don't make any such item for Rochester F.I.
Re: a built 59 with 315 HP - Cliff Gottlieb the noted successful iracer of a 59 with FI said he achieved 315 HP by changing the 1 1/16" diameter valves to 1 3/16" diameter plus some work with the timing. Milling the heads for larger valves was obviously beyond most home garage mechanics - but Cliff had his own shop with dyno.
Thank you for always supporting my channel. Wish you always cheerful and happy.@@1972Ray
Im having palpitations looking at that badass 1949 Ford Shoebox custom!
😁🤣😁❤️
You should look up Studebaker and see what they were doing in the 50s
Your information is very helpful. Thank you very much.
The 1957 Rambler Rebel with the 327 and fuel injection (coincidence) was the fastest car that year, faster than a Corvette. But they couldn't keep it working so it didn't go into production.
Thanks for your information!
@@qmusclecarsNot entirely true, the fuel injection they tried (the first electronic F.I.) wasn't ready for production. But the car tested was one of 1500 carbureted 327 Rebels produced, and was only beaten by the fuel injected Corvette, in the 0-60 mph test by .5 second, making it the quickest accelerating sedan, made in the US, that year. Corvette is a sports car, with 28 more horsepower.
Thanks for your great information. I will dig into more information for the next videos. Let's explore powerful muscle cars with us.@@ramblerdave1339
the performance figures for the pontiac are not correct, also you left out the 1957 rambler rebel which was the second fastest car in 1957 behind the 57 corvette with fuel injection.
I will improve the content to make the video more attractive. Thank you very much friend.
You totally left out the 55 to 57 T Birds, including the 57 supercharged Bird. Your computor generated voice is bad.
That's right, thank you for your comments. In recent videos I have used a professional voice. Please help me comment on the latest video.
The ‘58 T-bird was a 4 seat “Personal Luxury Coupe”. This was its first iteration in that niche. For the first 3 years of the model, starting with its ‘55 introduction, it seemed a poorly conceived 2 seat miniature Crown Vic, as a rather feeble response to Chevy’s innovative Corvette of ‘53. But once Ford realized the futility of trying to Ape the ‘Vette, the ‘58 T-bird was actually a rather nice car for the time and in its newly created niche.
Your information is very helpful. Thank you very much.
No fuel injection available for T Bird
Right. Not until ‘83, I think. I could be wrong, but the first EFI equipped T-bird might have been the ‘83 Turbo Coupe, and the 3.8liter V-6. It could have been prior to that before the turbo, I don’t know because prior to the Turbo Coupe, after about ‘61-‘62, I found the T-bird completely uninteresting. But in ‘83, I bought one. While not exactly a A/A Fueler, it would get out of its own way, and it had Great handling for what it was. The owner’s manual didn’t advise that the turbo should be allowed time to spool down after…. Spirited driving, and since this my first turbocharged car, I didn’t know. So one day, after surprising -and embarrassing a dude in a Firebird (War of the Birds!) down on the freeway, I brought it home and promptly shut it off. The next time I drove it, it sounded like something under the hood was crying in pain! I asked around, dudes told me it was probably the bearings in the turbo. I took it to the dealership, the service manager told me the same thing. I asked if it was under warranty, he looked at me as if he was seeing me for the first time. And he never really answered me. I asked if I could leave it and have them take a look at it. He said, “Well, yeah. You can leave it…” I left it, but I don’t think they ever touched it. It made that sound for the rest of the time I had it. Hard lesson! Didn’t mean to ramble but I wanted to respond to your accurate comment with a recount of my experience with the T-bird. @@robertsnowden4729
I would not agree that the 55-57 T-birds were ill conceived. They sold like crazy compared to Vettes and the prices for them today show their popularity. Just ask Amos Minter - the T-bird restorer extraordinaire in Texas,
@@DocRebuild- I agree with you 100%; in hindsight, the ‘55-‘57 T-birds were neat little cars. At the time, they Seemed ill-conceived because they appeared to have been hurriedly designed and rushed into production to try to grab a piece of that market. The Corvette was a unique and innovative design, even with the warmed over I-6 used in the original version. With no resemblance to any existing Chevy or indeed, any existing Anything in the American inventory, it was going to be a hard act to follow anyway. Whether the ‘Vette actually was a sports car or not, it had the aspect of one, and importantly, it Looked like one. “Ill conceived” might not be the best term, maybe Premature could be more appropriate. At least the ‘55 ‘bird, if memory serves, had a V-8, a 292cid? I don’t know if it came with a manual, but somehow I doubt it. Yeah, they were cool little cars, but I wonder what they might have come up with if they had taken maybe another year to finish the concept. I liked and like them a lot. But they still make me think of miniature Crown Vics. LOL
The 1959 Corvette did not have electronic fuel injection. It was a mechanical fuel injection. Where did you get this narrator from. He has no idea what he is talking about.
I'm sorry for that, I will change it in the next videos.
YOUR AI IS UNINTELIGEABLE.......THE FIGURES GIVEN MAKE NO SENSE .
Thank you, I will improve my video so it has better quality.
01:21 Like the other videos in this series, this vid was poorly researched and is absolutely rife with factual errors. Just as a start, the fuel injection on the '59 Corvette was mechanical, not electronic. ... And that awful A.I. generated voice slips into garbage talk whenever it tries to pronounce numbers. Additionally, what real (non A.I.) person actually says "MPH" instead of "miles per hour". Just LISTEN at 01:30 to the A.I. voice try to say, "With a top speed of 130 me-dee-cow, 209 cla-lam-t-h". Good Grief!
Please review and edit your videos BEFORE throwing them onto CZcams. Geeze!

That and there was a ton of inaccurate things being stated. Whoever did this video dropped the ball
